thinking of toph and zuko’s life changing field being just toph dragging zuko around the world and making him tell her which guys are attractive or not.

the gaang wants to tag along but toph absolutely refuses because (1) aang and katara literally only have eyes for each other and will never give toph actual input, (2) suki’s inputs are 50% sarcasm, and (3) sokka.

zuko’s the only one she trusts because they both have the same taste in men (see their individual crushes on sokka at some point) but he doesn’t even realize it and just thinks he’s being completely objective

What's your take on Odysseus's trauma and recovery back in Ithaca?

Lol but really, I realistically expect it to be severely rocky. He’ll have good days, mostly bad days, but what keeps him grounded is of course his family, you know?

But imagine losing your entire fleet under your command...

...only to come back to an entire population of thousands of people, expecting that you will lead them.

Ody is desperate to get home because of Pen's birthday or something so instead of waiting for the next fly or something, makes Polites and Eury rent cars, take ride from strangers, go through "short-cuts" that only get them father and farther away without them knowing.

Athena calls from time to time until she and Ody fight because he's not listening to her instructions (she has maps on (and probs tracking his location)) and Ody tosses/breaks his phone.

They get lost for 20 hours, then, somehow, end up just infront of Ody's house where his mother was waiting and ready to beat his ass for not staying put like she thaught him to do when he was a kid and used to get lost (a lot) in the convenience store

Epic the musical where everything is the same except he just fucking. Keeps the baby. Carries it around in a sling. Fights monsters with a baby on his back. Sorry Circe can you chill with the sex stuff, there's a toddler present. Eurylochus you're shouting "Captain" too loud and you'll wake the baby. I find it incredibly funny from a meta/author perspective, that Ancient Greece decided to name their protagonist that angers many people “Anger Bringer” but, even funnier, is the in universe understating that anyone who meets Odysseus must have had the thought “oh dear, how unfortunate to be named hateful/hated” and then they have exactly One conversation with him and go “Ah I see now”

For reference, Odysseus’ name sounds very much like the Greek word odussomai, which can roughly mean “I am angry at” or “I am the cause of anger” (or simply “to hate” or “to dismiss”), a fact that is used for ironic effect frequently in the Odyssey.

It’s also specifically stated in Book 19 that Odysseus’ grandfather, a master thief and one who has also pissed off a lot of people, specifically named him this because “I am disliked by many, all across the world, and I dislike them back. So name the child Odysseus.” 19.428

Bro looked at his grandson and thought “Ahaha, this one’s going to be a troublemaker like me. Better get him started early.”

It’s like a terrible allegory for cause and effect or something.
