let me establish something rly important in regards to vanny and her thoughts abt william

she does not idolize him or w/e . she thinks he’s lame as fuck! he killed a bunch of kids bc they couldn’t fight back and sure the way he hid the bodies is interesting according to her fucked up taste, but otherwise he’s been reliving his glory day (SINGULAR) for 20 years and he wouldn’t even have been able to do it if he didn’t manipulate the souls of the children he already killed to do the heavy-lifting for him

and she already hates a ton of existing serial killers not bc what they did was wrong, but bc they were so unremarkable and so fucking boring . praised for being these genius masterminds and the only reason they ever got away with anything was out of pure luck or circumstance

so she wants to do her own thing. something worthy of actual attention. something remarkable

william might’ve left a stain w what he’s done, but she wants to leave a wound

(taking place during the movie) vanny just so happens to become a nightguard the same time as mike, which means they share the night-shift together. vanny just seems like a chill person n he's like. ok *shrugs* and he has no idea that she's there to learn more abt the killer of the missing kids so she can take some ideas/inspiration of her own to do her own killings in the same town 20 years later. and she doesnt know that "steve" is william either until he ofc reveals himself lol. and she keeps up the act for a while but mike does eventually realize

she used to work at a video store, she wants to record her killings n make little snu.ff films w one of those big ass camcorders and put them on tapes . loves horror movies . shes fucking crazy
