Raheem Awari grew up in Atlanta, but he grew up quick. There wasn’t much room for him to enjoy being a child, because being the oldest of five children, he ended up taking on the responsibility of both mother and father, early. The adults that lived in their house did not really constitute as parents, instead they were unpredictable obstacles. His mother was an addict, someone who would have tried to sell the children she’d bared for her next fix, and didn’t really care what that was. His father, had been a rock in the first couple years, until Rah was old enough to realize what he really was, his mothers supplier.

There was no part of her that wanted to get clean, and no reward for him helping her get there. So, instead, it was Rah who provided for his family. Sometimes it was through the miracle that was his fathers occasional generosity, other times it was because he was able to sweet talk folks into letting him work under the table, cut the grass, scrounge together any skill he could to make sure they ate.

The only thing that would eventually validate him, validate his worth beyond someone else’s workhorse or his siblings provider, was the game. At first, he couldn’t pay for half the shit he needed to play, but eventually the schools did that for him. They saw how talented he was, and they made sure to take advantage of that, because talent like that sold out games and brought people in.

As he improved, life seemed to get easier. But, his younger brother had finally become old enough to want to contribute. Once he did, he let his father convince him to run for him. Mal did, gladly, but he wasn’t ever smart about it, which was the mistakes that eventually led to Rah taking the charge for him, and spending a year in jail after graduating high school.

Despite the charges, he was able to swing his way back into a state school and get recruited from there. Eventually, the first team he’d signed with made sure that the jail time, and the incident, were erased. Public relations did work their wonders. He was traded to the titans three years ago, but has maintained his residence in Harlow for awhile now.

And so, the dancer wandered across the grounds, the cool air caressing her face as she found a spot to be alone. At least she thought she was. She only sees a couple of lights, now accompanied by the flame of her lighter as she set the end of the instrument ablaze. As she usually did, the woman allowed the tension to release from her body as she took her first drag. As the smoke dances through the air, it is then when she realizes: she is not alone.

It doesn't take long for her to recognize who her company is and she can't help but roll her eyes. There's a reason why the dancer knows she isn't meant for dating and he is now standing about a dozen feet away from her. "Fancy seeing you here." Alaska smirks, running her fingers through her hair as she adjusts, leaning against the outside wall. "You following me now, Awari?"

Raheem had to laugh at how unfortunate fate was in that moment. He had stepped out to take a small smoke break of his own, a different kind, though. Which, was currently inhaled in favor of actually speaking to her. Exes were exes for a reason, and they both certainly had plenty of them where one another was concerned. “You know damn well I ain’t got a single reason to do all that.” He said with a chuckle once he’d blown that smoke out.

“I was here first, if anything, just say you were missing me.” He instructed, a cocky, sideways grin finding its way to his features. It should have been criminal how stupidly good that expression looked on him. A shrug of shoulders, like he was actively saying fuck it, before holding out the blunt to her like it was a peace offering.

If there was one thing the man was desperate for was to go back to normal and that’s what this party was going to be for him. Chase leans against the wall between the kitchen in the living room, feeling about as good as he could without alcohol in his system. He went outside with Achara for a bit to play a somewhat friendly game of football and now he was holding a cup of water. He turns his head in time to see someone approaching him. “You have to save me,” he mutters as the blonde kid next to him keeps talking about whatever the fuck he did last weekend or something along those lines. “I have no idea what he is talking about and he’s been in my ear for the last half and hour.”

Rah looked like he might not actually do anything to save his team mate at first, grinning like he enjoyed watching the awkward look from the other man. A hand reached out to stop the blond next to him, eventually, mid-sentence. “Ay, Evan Peters, chill.” Rude, blunt, but efficient in that moment. A laugh was evident, before he nodded. “Come on, let’s roll before he leans into that horror story vibe, we actually need your ass back on the field some day.”

He didn’t need to recognize every face in here, especially considering most of them were masked. For some people, that was a blessing. Raheem didn’t say anything about that though, and instead simply shook his head as he narrowly escaped some groupie that wanted to talk his head off. Instead, he approached her, and tilted his head back. “Do me a solid and pretend we go way back, shorty in the red back there feels like she wanna wear my skin and shit.” @kiarawilliams​

He had to admire the hustle in that statement, or maybe the fact that it was more like a demand. Thankfully, obligations were met before they were laid down, holding out a shot glass in her direction. “Best the offer is, right now.” His accent was thicker, thanks to the alcohol. His own was tipped back, and let burn, before nodding. “At least it ain’t house party quality booze, college was a motherfucker.”

“Nah,” Enzo shrugged, nose turning up slightly as he pondered the question about the sudden change in weather they were experiencing. “Nah, I mean, I kinda like the cold to be honest with you,” he spoke to his company. “It reminds me of home, y’know. This is actually pretty mild compared to how it can get over the pond,” Enz chuckled. “And it ain’t raining like it does over there, so it’s the best of both things, I guess.” Hands played with the inner lining of his coat pockets as they walked, eyes flicking around their surroundings taking in the beauty of being able to go for a walk without thinking about potentially losing your life to a serial killer. “You ain’t a fan of the cold then, I take it?”

“Ain’t never been a fan of the cold, raised in the south.” He reminded Enzo, Atlanta never did have weather like this, and he was damned thankful for that little piece of information. Hands pushed inside the pockets of his hoodie, remembering that he didn’t really get the luxury to complain about weather anymore. After all, they were paid millions of dollars to play a game, most of the time, rain or motherfucking shine. “Fuck is there to like about the cold, riddle me that shit.” Rah asked, rhetorical question, but somehow he knew the other man would answer it.

“meow….mRRROoowww…” lukas was woken up by his cat, wednesday, who seemed to be telling him something. it’s either he’s hungry, he needs something or it’s another thing. it was always a rare occasion for him to be like this though. “damn it….wednesday…” he grabs his phone from his bedside table to check the time. “it’s just six in the morning, are you hungry?” finally, he notices a series of loud knocks on his door. the man gets out of his bed with only wearing his boxer shorts, so he grabs his robe and puts it on, before he heads to the door. “look…it’s six in the morning, and i don’t expect any visitors at this time of day….so tell me what you’re knocking on about.” he simply says, not really noticing who was the person on the other side of his door.    

The last thing he wanted to do was be greeted by some dude in his robe, looking like a knock off hugh Hefner. Well, if you squinted a whole lot. Raheem was doing just that from behind the safety of a pair of too dark, too expensive sunglasses. Clearly, there had been some kind of mistake here. “Bruh.” He managed, staring at the other still before finally adding something that was actually coherent. “What happened to old girl that used to stay here?” Yes, yes he was trying to follow throw with a six am booty call, but apparently, he’d forgotten where ‘old girl’ stayed.

“Okay, say that again at the altar in a few years.” Raheem was unfazed by the familiar venom in her tone, knowing damned well that he liked it, maybe even invited it. He did keep coming back, after all. In his mind, that should probably count for something, even if she was never willing to even give him a single inch. A grin was playing at his features as hand rubbed the beard at his chin, nodding. “Nah, if you want a dick pic, you’ll have to ask for one, and we both know Deja ain’t coming back so you might as well get real nice and comfortable where you at, and who you with.” A motion toward himself.
