I expect no one to ever read any of this, so, if you are reading this, no you aren't. Probably mostly x reader/self insert and always extremely self indulgent.
Hello!! You seem to have found my self insert fanfiction sideblog!
I'm Rain, any and all pronouns are good with me and I like to get obsessive about fictional characters <3
Over here I like to post my (amateur) writings about my favorite characters. Mostly reader insert or OC self insert, so if you like x reader fics about a wide variety of fictional characters, go ahead and follow! Or don't. The writing is still pretty bad, but I hope to get better!
I don't technically take requests as I write exclusively for myself but don't be afraid to comment or send an ask! If I click enough with an idea I might write it. Think of it as more of a suggestion box than requesting. And if nothing else I love talking about my favorite blorbos with other people who like them! It may take me a while to respond, but I promise I'll get there!
Check out my guide to see what characters I will write for and check out my masterlist to see all my fics in one place.
If you want to follow a blog with a random incessant smattering of my fandoms and other cool things (interspersed with my own pretty epic posts), you should mosey on over to my main blog @ineffableduckears !
And if you don't like anything I post, I don't take blocking personally! I will not be hurt nor offended. Though I do try to tag reliably (except on my main blog) in the case that there are specific things you want to block.
I hope you enjoy (or at the very least, are neutral about) your stay here, however long it may be ^_^
If you're not too busy I would love to request a House x reader. Maybe in which the reader comes over after work and makes dinner for him? Ends with some fluffy cuddles if you're feeling up to it?
-Xoxo, urs truly, anon.
Gasp! My first suggestion is one I actually feel like I can do?! Incredible Never been done before Revolutionary

Youâd been watching him all day, it was no secret he was more stressed than usual. Snapping at the team a little too quickly, brushing Wilson off with no reason, his comments more attack than joke.
The only time it seemed to stop was when he had lunch with you. Granted, it was also outside the hospital but either way you werenât making it worse.
And you wanted to do something nice for him. As recompense for the shitty day heâs clearly had.
So after work, your first stop was the grocery store. Youâd spent the last few hours of your shift trying to recall any and all foods youâd remembered him speaking about fondly and chosen one that was well within your skill set. You werenât risking fucking this up with the day heâd already had.
You let yourself into his apartment with the key he had given you months ago and a bag of ingredients and very quickly set to work in his kitchen. Heâd probably be home soon so you wanted to get the bulk of the work done before that, leaving you free to explain yourself or talk or whatever he wanted.
You hadnât anticipated it going so easily that you were basically done when you heard the door open, the familiar tap of his cane filling the living room.
You were still finishing up though, with your back to the doorway so you could only hear the way he paused in the doorway before slowly making his way to the kitchen.
You turned to find him staring at you, his expression unreadable.
âHi.â You smiled softly, fidgeting with your hands.
â⌠Hi.â He responded flatly after glancing around the kitchen. He seemed almost confused.
âI, uh, made dinnerâŚâ You smile awkwardly as you answer the silent question.
He blinked, staring at the food on the counter, and you started to wonder if you had misread the situation.
â⌠Why?â He finally asked, looking back at you.
âBecause I felt like it. You seemed stressed, I wanted to do something niceâŚâ
House just stares into space for a moment. â⌠Huh.â
Just as youâre about to apologize for possibly overstepping, he finally seems to snap out of it, wandering over to the counter next to you to see.
You blink, turning to watch his reaction as he appraises the dishes. He seemed to shift slightly, his shoulders dropping as he exhaled. After a long moment he looked at you, looking much less stressed and mostly just tired. The corner of his mouth tilting upward.
âWell? What are you waiting for?â
You grin, perking up immediately and quickly grabbing two plates. He backed up a bit to give you space before following you to the table, sitting across from you.
You ate mostly in silence, but it was good silence. Comfortable. And you knew he was enjoying the food, which you were pretty proud of yourself.
Light, unrelated conversation slowly trickled in as the dinner went on, but it was notably soft, both in tone and volume. Houseâs usual sarcasm worn down by the day, leaving only a very tired, but unusually kind, man.
When you both had finished, you stood, picking up the plates. You werenât going to make him wash dishes.
As you set the dishes in the sink, you felt his arms snake around your waist, tugging you away from the counter.Â
âWhat-â
âCome hereâŚâ He mumbled against your neck, his head resting comfortably on your shoulder as he limped away from the kitchen, dragging you with him.
âOkayâŚâ You smiled lightly, tilting your head slightly in an attempt to see his face.
He pulled you to the couch, then onto the couch. Well, more accurately onto him, who was in turn on the couch. You tensed slightly as you landed on him, careful to shift your weight away from his leg, but he didnât seem to care. He simply buried his face against your temple, arms still locked around your middle.
Given⌠well, the everything about this, you figured you werenât going anywhere anytime soon, so you acclimated, resting your weight on him as he seemed to want and wrapped your arms around him in return.
He seemed very pleased by that, exhaling heavily as he melted beneath you, nuzzling the crown of your head.
You sighed softly, resting your cheek on his chest as you relaxed with him, just enjoying the moment.
âThank youâŚâ He murmured quietly into the warm silence.
You lifted your head with a light smile to press a gentle kiss to his lips. âAnytime.â

House MD Characters with an Age Regressor!Reader: Headcanons
Cameron, Foreman, Wilson, & House x GN!Reader
Summary: You are a very competent doctor working for House and have become very close with your coworkers. So when they find out you age regress on occasion, they are more than happy to accommodate.Â
Or: Your coworkers are entirely prepared for you to regress at work, and very much enjoy being your caregivers.
Word count: ~1400 in total
Warnings and tags: Not beta read. Talk of age regression and anxiety, obviously. One mention of amputation (it makes sense, I promise). Mentioned yelling. Making Chase into the bad guy for one point in Houseâs section. Probably OOC House but I believe he can be soft. Mostly just fluff and comfort. Established relationship can be read as platonic or romantic. Gender neutral reader, you/yours and they/them pronouns used for reader, no physical descriptions of reader.
A/N: Skipping Chase because I hate him. Houseâs is the longest by far, wrote a whole mess for him can you tell heâs my favorite? Use of Y/N because I didnât have another option but itâs just once. Definitely writing more with this concept eventually.
Cameron:
Absolutely loves little you
Always keeps a bag of supplies in her car just in case you need them
Said bag includes: coloring books, stuffed animals, fidget toys, safe snacks and drinks, a portable DVD player with DVDs of your favorite shows and movies, and even an extra set of clothes just to be safe
Will happily set you up in the conference room with a coloring book and some snacks if she has to leave for a moment for a case
She likes to engage in activities with you if she can (i.e. outside of work or when thereâs no patients), whether thatâs watching your comfort shows too or coloring with you
House once walked into his office to find you both sitting on the couch coloring while an episode of Scooby Doo played on her computer
If it hadnât been you, he would have made a comment right there and then
But because he not so secretly cares, he just ignores you both, letting you stay there until you were adult again
Though that doesnât stop him from teasing her about it for months afterwardsÂ
She lets you braid her hair if you want to and enthusiastically brags about it if someone asks about the less than ideal state of her hair, especially House, since she knows he gets jealous
House looks up as Cameron finally enters the patientâs room, her hair tangled into a weak semblance of a braid. âWhat happened to your hair? Did a bird try to nest in it?â
âY/N did it for me actually. Arenât they sweet?â She smirks, flipping it over her shoulder, not embarrassed in the slightest and leaving House to seethe silently that you had chosen her to be so close to today.
Foreman:
Would quite honestly rather not have you at work while youâre little
Itâs not that he doesnât like you like this, quite the opposite, he adores you
He just doesnât think that your shared workplace is an appropriate place for a child
If heâs able to, heâd much prefer to just take you home and stay with you there if you need him to
That being said, he usually canât, thanks House, so he settles for hiding you away in some unoccupied room and busying you with books or TV
If heâs not currently occupied with a case heâll happily read to you for hours, sometimes age appropriate books he knows you like and sometimes heâll read from medical textbooks just to make you laugh
Heâll never admit it, because it is âso unprofessional to have a child, in any form, in the office during a caseâ but he really likes when you choose to spend the day with him. It makes him feel special.
The group was all so invested in throwing ideas about the current case that none of them noticed you slipping away until you silently tugged on Foremanâs hand, blinking at him.
He softens, turning to face you more. âOh. Hey, uh⌠Do you need me?â He asks softly, turning back to the team (who had stopped talking entirely upon noticing your state) when you nod.
âAlright, Iâll be right back. Just gonna get them set up in one of the offices.â He says, with no room for debate (not like anyone was going to anyway), and gently leads you out of the room as House rolls his eyes dramatically, but bites his tongue for your sake.
Wilson:
Wilson generally only steps in when, either, you ask for him specifically, or House dumps you in his office because none of his team can stay with you due to a pertinent case
Aside from sometimes being forced into taking care of you, he really does love you
Unfortunately, heâs not amazing with kids, so heâs not always sure what heâs doing
Usually heâll just have you âhelpâ with his paperwork. Either having you on his lap to fill out Very Important Documentsâ˘ď¸ with him or setting you up at his desk with some printer paper and highlighters and talking to patients and other doctors elsewhereÂ
If you need extra attention he may even consider rescheduling any appointments he has that day
He loves taking you out to lunch when youâre little because you always want to go for a walk and point out every little thing that catches your attention and the excitement in your eyes just makes him melt
âOkay, okay,â Wilson laughs softly as you excitedly tug him towards a small pond where a flock of geese is gathered. âWe can go look at the geese-â
âGooses.â You correct him, much preferring the whimsy of incorrect pluralizations in this state.
âRight, gooses,â He nods before continuing. âWe can look at the gooses but we canât get too close, okay?â
You nod quickly, smiling as you get as close to the birds as heâll let you and sitting down on the grass to watch them, while he watches you with eyes so soft that if House saw them, heâd have ammunition for the rest of time.
House:
He is almost always the one taking care of youÂ
As the boss, if you donât ask for a specific other person, heâs sending everyone away and not leaving his office for the dayÂ
When he found out about your regression he almost immediately started grilling you about itÂ
You were terrified he was just trying to gauge how it would impact your work and if you answered wrong heâd fire you
So you were massively surprised when you discovered the box under his deskÂ
Filled to the brim with everything (and I mean everything) one could possibly need while little, most items obviously specifically chosen for you and your needs
Turns out he did his own research and, paired with your own words about it, created an entire emergency plan for if you regress at work
Said plan mostly being spending the day in his office with him but the activities depend on how youâre feeling that dayÂ
Tired? Heâll tuck you in on his couch and sit at his desk âworkingâ (he almost always spends more time watching you sleep than doing any work)
Hungry? Heâll order whatever takeout you want and watch your favorite comfort TV with you
Bored? Heâll play any game you want and he might even let you win (he always does)
Anxious? Heâll wrap his arms around you and read you something calmingÂ
But easily his favorite is quizzing you about medicine to see exactly how your brain is affected by the regressing
Heâll generally soften himself immensely with you when youâre like this
He knows you can keep up with his sarcastic wit when youâre adult but you can tend to be much more sensitive like this and he would rather finally have his leg amputated than make you cry
He also tends to get insanely protective of you when youâre little
Once Chase walked in while the two of you were watching one of your favorite childrenâs shows together and offhandedly commented something about the plot line being âdumbâ and after you had left later that day, he tore into Chase for nearly an hour for it
Partially because it was your favorite episode and partially because he was sort of invested in it not that heâd ever admit that
(He reasons that he just wanted an excuse to yell at Chase but nobody believes him)
Itâs why he doesnât leave his office with you like this, he doesnât want to risk anything upsetting you
And god forbid anyone even try to enter the office
Cuddy generally gets shooed away quickly and everyone else gets locked out and ignoredÂ
The team only gets a pass for case related issues and because he knows they love you tooÂ
(But they better not interrupt too much because heâs trying to figure out who ate the Cakeâs Marzipan Mascarpone Meringue Madness before Twilight does!)
Youâre pressed comfortably into Houseâs side on the couch as you watch the tiny TV, one arm wrapped around you and the other waving wildly as he exclaims with every plot point.
âI canât believe Duck would do that!âÂ
âDuck is silly.â You nod in agreement, chewing on the plastic straw of a juice box.
âI would have figured it all out much sooner.â He says with enough determination it makes you look at him curiously.
âMhm!â He continues, âBecause I am much smarter than these silly birds.â He grins confidently at you, to which you nod in agreement before the next scene steals your attention.
And he just looks at you, the warmest smile softening his features as he watches you giggle at the show, perfectly content in your own little world that he is so grateful to be a part of.
Summary: Youâve been contemplating an anxiety inducing question and itâs finally time you talk to your boyfriend about it.
Wordcount: 735
Warnings and tags: Mostly fluff, slight bit of angst in the form of anxiety. Established relationship, reader is a nerd (generally), mention of death but what else is new, mentions of anxiety, marriage, and anxieties about marriage, this was written by someone with anxiety and autism and you can tell, autistic Daniel cuz I said so, second person POV, no use of Y/N
A/N: My first ever (completed) fanfic! Probably gonna rewrite it one day. Written because there is a criminal lack of x reader content for my dear Daniel and goddess bless the rare people who do write it
Beta read by the lovely Magickmoons
Read on Ao3
Daniel is quite possibly the best partner. Ever. Yeah, okay that sounds hyperbolic. And it probably technically is. Doesnât mean you canât feel it. And why wouldnât you when heâs just so sweet and kind and smart and oh so very autistic in the exact way that clicks with you. You love that he lets you rant and rave about whichever of your special interests had consumed your mind that day and you could listen to him infodump about something you probably donât even understand literally forever.
So of course it had been bugging you for a while. You always were a hopeless romantic, so maybe it wasnât surprising that when you let your mind wander youâd occasionally fantasize about marriage. Especially with himâŚ
But you were also a very anxious person, and so of course the first thought out of those daydreams was⌠his late wife.
Itâs not that you didnât like her. Youâd only ever heard good things about her from Daniel and though you never met her, you could tell she mustâve been a lovely person and you could easily imagine getting along with her. Itâs just that you were hyper aware of the fact that, had she not died, you almost certainly would have never even met Daniel, much less be in the best relationship of your life with him. And maybe a part of you wondered if he would ever even consider marrying you, or that was a role that would always belong to her. Â
You almost hated yourself for thinking about it like that, like you were jealous of a dead woman. You really werenât! Daniel made sure you knew how important you were to him all the time, but gods your mind just wouldnât let up.
Today you had finally mustered up the courage to talk to him about it, so, walking quickly to his office before you lost the nerve, you thought through the ways you could broach the subject. Luckily you had the perfect âcoverâ of sorts. You could always ignore your emotions in favor of scientific objectivity, and he knew that⌠Which meant that a lot of your early relationship sounded more like an odd emotional experiment than anything romantic. It was romantic to you though. This is just how nerds flirt. At least, nerds like you.
You knocked on the door automatically as you reached it, stepping inside as he lifted his head to look at you.
âHey,â he smiled. âDid you need something? Or are you just visiting for fun?â He leaned on his desk, arms crossed.
âUhm, c-can I talk to you about⌠something?â you asked quietly, fidgeting with your hands.
He frowned softly, your anxiety obvious as he sat up straighter. âYeah. Yeah, of course. Is everything alright?â
âYeah! Yeah, totally, I just, ehm⌠I have a hypothetical for you. Purely theoretical with no bearing or basis on reality,â you ramble on nervously, blinking at him.
He nodded quickly, relaxing slightly at the familiar start of a usual conversation. âOkay⌠Give me the parameters.â
âUhm⌠U-under the current circumstances⌠H-hypothetically, would youâŚâ You sighed heavily, starting to regret your decisions as you lean against the door.
You chewed on your lip, finally looking at him properly and, with the safety net of scientific research, finally asked, âWould you ever marry me?â
âYes,â he answered without missing a beat. As if it was obvious, normal. MundaneâŚ
âI- W-what!?â you spluttered, blinking rapidly at him as you flushed slightly. âJ-just- Just âyesâ?! Just like that!?â
âDid you expect me to say no?â He tilted his head slightly, looking at you softly.
âI- I-I mean kinda.â
âWhy?â
âWell⌠I mean⌠I-I mean you- you already⌠were⌠Once⌠I-I donât know, maybe you⌠donât want to⌠againâŚâ
He smiled softly. âHoney, if I wasnât ready to move on, I wouldnât be with you.â
âI- I-I know, I just⌠I didnât know ifâŚâ
He finally stood up, rounding his desk and walking over to you. He gently placed his hands on your arms, thumbs stroking soothingly.
âYou are more than enough.â He smiled softly, pressing a quick kiss to your forehead. âAnd if that hypothetical ever changes to a proper experimentâŚâ He smirked. âYou let me know.â
You blinked at him, blushing softly as your shoulders relaxed, smiling and nodding. âYeah⌠I will.â
You had a feeling that that experiment could be closer than you realized.
anyways, let me know if i need to like, add any tags or anything, I'm very new to posting... basically anything
hope you enjoyed my self indulgent ramblings ^_^
