Anastasia Higginbotham at the Rainbow Book Fair
Anastasia Higginbotham joins the Rainbow Book Fair on April 29, 2017! Hear her speak about her hit book, Tell Me About Sex, Grandma, at 3:30 PM.
Tell Me About Sex, Grandma stresses consent, sex positivity, and the right to be curious about your body. The dialogue focuses on the dynamics of sex, rather than the mechanics, as Grandma reminds readers that sex is not marriage or reproduction, and doesn’t look the same for everyone. Instead, each person’s sexuality is their very own to discover, explore, and share if they choose.
Her essays have appeared in Ms., Bitch, The Sun, The Women’s Review of Books, Yes Means Yes: Visions of Female Sexual Power and a World Without Rape. She was a 2015 Hedgebrook Fellow, and her first book of the series, Divorce Is the Worst, published in 2015 by the Feminist Press.
Hey, authors and publishers of queer books!
Don't be left out of the biggest LGBT book event in the US! The 9th Annual Rainbow Book Fair, Sat. April 29, brings New York's most enthusiastic queer readers to you. Only a short walk from Lincoln Center, at John Jay College's new campus, the New York Rainbow Book Fair has been the annual destination for queer publishers, readers, and media from all over the country. Bryan Borland from Sibling Rivalry Press (Little Rock, Ark.) calls it "the highlight of my year!" More info: www.rainbowbookfair.org.
