Hello everyone! I haven’t posted anything in a long time cuz I was drawing this artwork. And yes, it’s D’Arce again, but she isn’t with Le’Gard, she’s with very beautiful girls))) I redrew it many times… but I’ll still secretly keep changing this work. Rotates Karin in my mind because it pisses me off that there are folks out there who refuse to engage with her character and see her as shipping fodder/just someone who’s mean/reducing to her “I’ve covered wars, y’know.” line, and not as a person. Anyway, her background I think about it lots… how she was the only girl in her family, and her being a Problem Child (neurodivergent Karin, I repeat, neurodivergent Karin). You were supposed to be a cute child, but you’re not. Not that it mattered considering her parents were too busy for her, let the nursemaid deal with her.

That being said, godddd Karin and Dalia… to me they fall under the toxic mother/daughter category even thought they’re not mother and daughter. But I’ll be real, they may as well be.

Nursemaid who kidnapped the poor girl because she thinks she knows what’s best… so what if she manipulated her, so what if there was physical discipline involved? Stop being so difficult, Karin, stop spreading all these lies, I’m doing what’s best for you, they’ll kill you out there, if only you were an easier child (because if you’re an unruly child, you may as well be an unruly teenager, especially if you’re getting yourself in civil rights organizations! and you can blame that on the culture shock!)… and when they bring her back to Bremen and she is finally reunited with her mother, I like to think Karin would feel a bit… conflicted. Despite being right about Dalia kidnapping and manipulating her, she may as well be Karin’s mother, may as well be her daughter. Your honor, they are like this to me.

But another thing that really fascinates me is the Sauer family being “outsiders”. I feel like Karin would Know somehow. Do you think she would internalize all that? Do you think, before she got taken away, that some folks would look at her with pity? Maybe indifference? “The Sauers are the first to go, this child will be thrown to the wolves.” Finding the whole thing unfair (neurodivergents when justice sensitivity)

^ “Karin’s used to working alone, she’s used to the dangers on the field” ah but consider this: Karin being afraid to let people in because the idea of being casted out and having trust issues in general. Girl may want that validation and want to be seen as right but god forbid she’d let others get involved. “Is used to working alone.”, because it’s easier, someone has to do it if nobody else will, and at least you won’t get hurt. Vulnerability is a scary thing and she is *scared*, even if she doesn’t show it.

Anyway to summarize: it really is that simple, engage with Karin Sauer go crazy and stupid with her right now!

I SEVERELY WISH PEOPLE WOULD SEE MORE ABOUT HER RELATIONSHIP WITH DALIA.. Like you said, Dalia did essentially raise Karin for her entire childhood, even BEFORE she got kidnapped since her parents weren't even around most of the time!!

I feel like, after all that has happened and she got reunited with her parents and became an adult, I really don't believe she would ponder or even have the time to think about her childhood. "I wasn't abused or anything like that. I came out fine. Even if she (Dalia) technically kidnapped me, she didn't outright abuse me." BUT THAT ISNT NORMAL!!! And I also do wonder if Karin felt those moments where she really felt like Dalia was a mother more than her actual mother.. I mean, there might've been some times back in her childhood, but I think that the adult Karin would just look back in disdain (both for her real family and especially Dalia) (probably..)

And oh my goodness about the last part where you said she's used to working alone and the thought of letting others in sounds so scary, even if she doesn't show it. Ough ohh my goodness a headcanon I have with Karin is whenever she gets complimented by someone (and only if Karin knows they're being sincere about it) she would look like she doesn't mind the compliment but those words would be in the back of her mind for a while. Probably back and forth being giddy about it for a millisecond and/or pushing back her thoughts since it'll affect her flow

THATS ALL I GOTTA SAY man I hope the Termina update shows us more backstories!! I would really love to analyze every contestant's story eventually

I don't know if anyone else has said this, but I want to headcanon darce more or so being attracted to feminity (gynesexual)

It would explain her attraction to legarde and her claiming she is "maybe not into boys as she thought"

I don't know if this is confirmed anywhere (ive ever only watched funger game plays instead of the actual game because I don't have a pc) but before legarde, I doubt darce has had much attraction or romantic luck. I hc that back in Rondon, Darce would come across women and that was the most she had towards attraction, but never acted upon it

And she's also a virgin, so even if she had male partners she didn't do "much" with them

Legarde has a feminine appearance to me (facial structure, long luscious locs, etc), maybe when Darce first came upon him, she was able to accept her attraction towards feminity due to Legarde being a male

She's also really intense with her feelings for legarde, which kind of proves my point of "inexperienced romance"

Btw I don't like legarde x darce or anything this is just trying to back up my hc,,

@resoquil and I were geeked the HELL out when I was doing my first run in doing Ending B as Karin... I was already thinking that the run would not go that far after not getting the Kassara and failing to get anything in chests (and getting attacked by the headless hounds.. hence the 13 hp...) so I was messing around
