Hey me and my sister love your soldier!au a lot, could you do a lore drop for it?? I need to know more 😼
Ahah if course! IM going to. Scream-
Lore under the cut cuz its long T^T
Soldier Au is purely aesthetics in practice BUT I do know alot abot those aesthetics lol.
Down beneath The waves of Atlantis there is a burial toumb filled with a strange liquid. This is called the pool of the dead, and is where the Atlanteans used to prepare they're deceased, before the stones came to the island. When the water from the pools were mixed with the stones, it created a strange magical reaction.
Fast forward to when Yugis soul is taken, Rafael reports back to Dartz about taking the Pharaohs soul, but Dartz chastises him for getting the wrong damn soul (Mf had one job) but Yugis soul seems to resonate with the leviathan almost as much as the Pharoah would, so they get the great idea to try and bring him back.
The ritual brings Yugi back, the semantics of which I've very back and forth on due to there not really being a body. But he gets brought back, I can see his bones and skin reforming from the foam of the pool + dead bodies maybe. This is incredibly painful, which is a great start for Yugi's indoctrination into Doma cuz bitch needs medical attention ASAP, its kinda like being born again viscera and all. They wrap him up to make sure he doesn't bleed out everywhere until he's healed (I can't see the pool being acidic kinda?)
So Yugis back, wahoo! Back its the brought back wrong trope so he doesn't feel like he's in his own body and its fuuuckin with him. Valon is told to sort him out cuz he's in charge in recruitment + charismatic unlike Mr dead brother and Mr dead family. So he's just doing cult indoctrination shit until he realizes this kid is FUUCKED up, so he's like "Wanna go grab some food and fix your hair?" And now they're pretty cool with each other. Mai doesn't really know how to feel about this.
Yugi's going through the motions and learning how to use the seal recreationally, but he's still going through it. The Pharoah betraying himself stuck in his mind. At first he feels like seeing his friends and saving the world are his only motivators, but because of the ritual he isn't really himself, so his memories start fading and all he can remember is his anger at the Pharaoh for what he did. It all comes to a head when Joey loses his soul. Yugi runs through the halls just to see Joey on one oh his wierd slabs and completely breaks down. His best friend is gone, not even the Pharaoh saved him. He comes to the conclusion that restarting the world is the only option if he wants things to be like they used to, self destructive iconic.
Rafeal and him have tones of tension throu7cuz he like, killed him. I'd be mad. After Yami defeats Raf they actually save him and change his mind but he runs off cuz he wants answers from dartz. He meets up with Yugi, who wants to duel him and usurp him (so he can get closer to defeating Dartz without interference). Yugi starts telling Rafeal what actually happened to his family to provoke him, but instead of dueling him Raf opts to just choke him out. Yugi, half asphixiated, activates his duel disk and stabs him in the ear. Then he activates the seal on him and just huals absolutely assssssss on him, dealing the finishing blow with Gandora cuz I need more Gandora in my life.
When Yami and the #gang come to duel Dartz but they bump into Yugi on HIS way to do the same. The Doma boys have been dropping hints that he's still alive but they never actually saw him, so everyone's happy to see him. However instead of joining them Yugi activates the seal on. Yami. Yami is pleading with him and trying to make him see clearly, but Yugi needs to make him feel how he felt, again, self destructive icon. After a while of being on the ropes, Yugi tells the Pharoah he doesn't care who he has to go through, he will get his happy ending. He will get his wish back (cuz he's forgotten his friends!!!) And when he gets to the puzzle? He's going to bury it so deep underground no one will ever hear Yamis crys. Yugi is mean when he's undead, he mentions Jou and everything. The duel can go either way, if Yugi wins, it would restart the cycle (Like how the snake eats it own tail, Yugi beats Yami). If Yami won't Yugi would talk shit for a second while fizzling out into foam cuz he has no body!!!!. Yami is not ok. Good luck with Dartz diva <3
The gaps in the plot are filled with aesthetics. Think Jinx from s1 of arcane + Resident evil 7 + A cure for wellness. Gunk everywhere!!!! Plus big themes of ressurection and loss of self in pursuit of revenge. And some domestic Doma boys cuz Id love to see more chill Alastor and Valon. And more cult shit omg. Dartz treating Yugi like he treated Rafeal when he first arrived in an effort to groom him into being his second in command against the Pharoah due to his dueling skill, that's the subject of my "the man of hands" post! The au changed alot but the key stuff is there lol. Would love to see what other people would add to make it less of a style over substance deal.
Tysm for asking, this is my favorite Yugi au, especially when other people have a s4 yugi au that i can pull from, there's so many sick ones. This is mostly rambling help lol eeejaishihsuon8sbibhsbhibs
