Yeah so I fell off the face of the earth for a bit. I feel like I owe you guys a bit of an explanation so here it goes: I was burnt out because of the rise of AI in creative media. Basically, I didn't know how to deal with the fact that AI is just basically stealing from people. The idea of my work being used for that, it honestly pissed me off. Not that Tumblr does that but honestly I just didn't know how to write anymore. It was like my brain just gave up.
Lately however, I have been feeling that old spark again. I've tried to move a lot of my major works to AO3 (still can't believe we're out of Beta), mainly because I think my inactiveness has caused me to not pop up anymore.
I have no promises that what I write will come out in a timely manner, nor do I promise it'll be good. Writing for me isn't like riding a bike, if I haven't done it in a bit it takes time for my skill to readjust back. Thank you for your patience, no I'm not dead, just fatigued by this mortal shell I reside in being this anxious over AI.
Anyways, I apologize for my absence, adulthood is way stressful.
Warnings: SHIELD YOUR EYES FOR THE UNCOVERED ANKLES (smut. There is smut.)
It was all a shock. To land in an alternate reality where everything was fucked up. But it was an even bigger shock to him when he went to go back to his own and still ended up in the wrong reality.
There he was and everything was…
Great?
Life was almost a damn Utopia. What was crazier was Zaun and Piltover were put together and better functioning than his own damn reality. He walked the streets absolutely fucking baffled by what was happening before him. He heard tidbits and realized that in this reality his creation killed Vi, but was destroyed in the process.
From what he managed to understand, he had basically gone through his trial by getting his experiment confiscated. Even weirder, Jayce was successful in other ways but not… actually hextech.
It was beyond bizarre. Especially since… you were alive. No hextech meant no advanced weapons, no explosion, no explosion meant you were alive. Now he was fixated on finding you. If he was stuck there, he had to find you.
He had looked high and low.
And nothing.
Not a freaking sign. He sighed, sitting at a booth in a bar with his head in his hands when the gods seemed to finally answer his prayers.
“Can I get you anything sir?”
Jayce’s head snapped up and his eyes widened. You were fucking beautiful. Your hair was longer, dyed a vibrant color, just like you always said you wanted but weren’t ballsy enough to go through with it. Your eyes were brighter. You seemed happy.
“Y/n..” he breathed.
“Yeah that’s my name dude, don’t abuse it.” You chuckled.
“Jayce— it’s me Jayce.” He said staring at you. You squinted.
“Uh… do I know you man?” You asked confused. Oh fuck. No hextech meant you never got hired at the academy to be his assistant…
“Fuck uhm…” he sighed. You looked at him confused.
“You okay?” You asked. Your kindness was definitely still there.
“Uh… Shit I uhm.” He couldn’t form words. You were alive. The love of his fucking life was alive. But didn’t know who he was.
“…Need a drinking buddy?” You asked.
“…Yeah that uhm… Yes please.” He nodded.
“Vander! I’m taking my break!” You called out. Holy crap— Vander and Silco were alive?! And running a damn bar—“what’s got you so weirded out right now?” You asked.
“Why do you think I’m weirded out?” He muttered.
“Because you looked… bugged out, like you just took a fucking ice bath dude.” You shrugged. Glad to see your bluntness was still intact too.
Jayce smiled sadly before sighing. “I uhm… well I just… feel like a fish out of water.” He admitted.
“Why’s that?” You asked.
“…” did he risk sounding nuts, potentially causing you to freak the fuck out? Did he risk pushing you away from him? Fuck it. Things were still out of control in his reality, he needed to find a way back and there was someone he knew had a brilliant enough of a damn mind to make it work. “This is going to sound crazy but—“
He explained it all. From start to finish. You of course, stared at him like he was nuts. “Yeah but do you have proof dude, because right now you sound batshit.” You said after the explanation.
He sighed leaning back. “Your favorite song is Midnight blues. But you always say it’s Eros.” He says. You snorted.
“Okay weirdo maybe you just lurk on my Next tune—“
“You are allergic to peanuts. You always wanted a poro but your allergies stop you so you have a hairless cat instead. You love to sit on top of the old factory at night because it overlooks everything and you love to see the city at night, you love ionian literature, you hate the sounds of trucks that run too loud and flip off the driver every time you see one.” He listed off. Some of those were habits you knew no one would know. And he knew this. “You wear your grandmother’s locket. It has a picture of both your grandparents inside, the damn thing is almost eighty years old and has their initials engraved on the heart.” That. That detail made you believe him. Because you wore your locket, yes. But it was tucked inside your shirt so the pendant wouldn’t fall off.
You stared at him “..How did you—“
“Because in my reality we were together.” He said softly.
“…oh” you said. That’s why this guy stared at you like you completed his life just by merely existing. “Did we break up or something—“
“You died, Y/n… some girl— uhm… she went nuts and shot off a missile into a council meeting. Killed half the council, my partner got severely injured and… you died.” He muttered.
You blinked “…No offense, really. But if… your reality is really that shit, why are you so eager to go back?” You asked.
“Because before I ended up in this one, I saw what happens when I don’t succeed. I gotta say. It’s bad.” He said. You sighed.
“Why… tell me all this?” You asked.
“Because I know your mind. I know your talent Y/n, if anyone can help me I know it’s you.” He said softly. You stared at him before sighing again and running your fingers through your hair.
“…I mean I don’t even know how to start with time travel.” You admitted.
“I don’t either.” He admitted. “But… I think if we work together we can figure it out.” He said softly. He put his hand over yours that rested on the table and you pulled away. He mentally scolded himself that you didn’t know him in this reality.
“Okay I mean I can try but don’t be disappointed if me in this universe isn’t a damn genius.” You said leaning back in the booth. You seemed to have a lightbulb moment. “But my dad might know.” You added.
Your dad. You never mentioned even in your relationship in his reality who your dad was. He assumed he wasn’t around in his reality.
“Hey! Dad!” You called. Silco looked over.
“Yes kid?” He asked. Jayce froze. Silco? Silco the gods damned inventor was your dad? The man who basically made Vi’s sister into Jinx was your dad? That’s why you never mentioned this?!
“Come here for a sec.” You motioned. He walked from behind the bar and sat down. With zero hesitation you explained everything Jayce had told you. You trusted Silco. You clearly loved your dad too.
“…Well this is… interesting.” He said.
“Yeah. Any idea where to start?” You asked.
“My best educated guess is string theory. You made a major event. You came back here from a major event. So maybe make a major event. Your uh… hex something or other, doesn’t exist in this world, do you know how to make it again?” He asked.
“Yeah..” he admitted.
“Then I’d start there. And maybe try to do what you did to your core in your timeline to that one?” He suggested.
“That’s… solid advice. Thank you silco.” He nodded. The fuck? Silco never said his name..
“Right. Be careful Y/n.” He muttered before getting up.
“Thanks dad.” You nodded. Jayce looked at you. “What?” You asked.
“Your dad is Silco?” He asked quietly.
“Yeah. Why? Was he not in your reality” You asked.
“No he was but… nevermind.” Jayce sighed.
“We can use my dad’s workshop. Plenty of space. Come on.”
You started working. Days Jayce spent close to you, working on calculations and making a hexcore. Many nights he found you sleeping at your desk. And every time his coat would be wrapped around you in the morning when you woke up.
It was strange. A man you swear you had never met loved you so much that you could tell that the closer you got to cracking this, the more he struggled with the idea of losing all you over again.
It had been a week. You walked over to him sitting on the couch with calculations.
“Can I ask you something?” You asked. He looked up and nodded. “…Were we happy?” You asked softly.
His focused gaze cracked to a soft fondness. “We were.” He told you.
“…And even though I don’t really know you… do you still love—“
“Without question.” He said softly. You stared at him in silence. You almost felt sad. To have such a firm romantic love from someone, even if it was from another timeline but not be able to know, to share that feeling with this man that seemed to unconditionally love you…
There was guilt. You thought of throwing him a line, flirt with him. But you didn’t want what you knew were his last memories with you to be a lie. You couldn’t force yourself to love this stranger either.
“Jayce?”
“Mhm?”
“What if we went on a date?” You asked. He seemed shocked by this suggestion. “I mean… you feel this love for me. And judging by the way you mentioned your memories of other me, it was mutual and it… bugs me that I can’t really share that.” You said.
He looked at you like he was happy yet still… sad. “Sure, Y/n. Where would you like to go?” He asked softly. He couldn’t refuse one last lasting memory with you. Not when this wound still felt this fresh.
“Uh… well I dunno. This version of me never went on a date before so..”
“Mm. I can figure it out. Come on.” He said getting up.
“Oh— now?”
“Yeah. I know where we should go. Come on.” He said softly.
So you went. On a date. From that moment on, every night was a date. Spend the day working with this strange little blue glowy ball, then go off to dinner. What was worse? You knew this version of you was going to lose him. But you still fell in love with him anyway.
It was the final night. The last piece had been clicked into place thanks to Ekko and Heimerdinger in the same damn predicament. Heimerdinger insisted he needed to make adjustments. In reality he was giving the boys time to say goodbye.
You sat across from him in your apartment. “So this is it… after tonight you’re going back.” You said softly.
“Yeah… yeah I uhm… I am.” He nodded clearing his throat.
You looked in his eyes “…I didn’t expect this to be hard.”
“For what to be—“
“You leaving.” Jayce went silent. You drew in breath “…after these dates, these… times… I get why I loved you, Jayce.”
He swallowed hard. “Then… let’s treat this night like it really is our last.” He said softly.
You looked over at him “how?”
He pulled you closer to him from the chair you were sitting in. “…Let me love you for one last night.” He said softly. You broke at that. This was your last night. You were losing the only romantic love you have ever known. You had had “situationships” that pretty much were just sex but nothing like this. You had two options. Cry….
Or cherish it.
You kissed him. For the first time you kissed someone. Was this absolutely bizarre? Oh fuck yeah. But you didn’t regret it.
He pulled you even closer, into his lap, holding you like you were the most precious thing in the world to him. He needed you like fucking air right now. One final victory before the bigger fight he knew he’d come back to.
He kissed you, over and over again, his fingers in your hair, his other hand on your back holding you close. You slid off your shirt and his eyes widened.
“Y/n are you sure—“
“I don’t want to think anymore Jayce… I just… I want to feel.” You whispered. So that’s what he did. He kissed your neck, unhooking your bra, cupping your breast in his hand. He rolled your nipple through his fingers and you buried your face in his neck.
“We can back out at any time Y/n—“
“Don’t stop” you breathed out. No. Not breathed. You moaned. Any semblance of control the man may have had flew out the window as he pushed you onto the couch.
Kiss after kiss, hickey after hickey his hand moved lower undoing your pants. He slid his hand past the hem of your panties and you gasped, your hands covering your mouth.
He pulled them away with his freehand. “Let me hear you.” He said in your ear, rubbing circles over your clit. Your eyes fluttered closed, your hands moving to his hair as you took moaning breaths.
“J-Jayce I need—“
“I know baby. I know.” He said pulling off your pants. There you were sprawled out naked under him as he pulled off his belt. He let it hit the floor with a soft clatter and he gently spread your thighs.
“Gods if we had time I’d be worshipping you right now,” he murmured. You kissed him as he lined himself up. With a gasp from you he pushed in and you gripped the couch moaning as he moved. He went the pace he knew you loved. Deep, and fast.
“Oh gods— don’t stop please don’t fucking stop!” You moaned.
“That’s it. Let me hear you.” He whispered in your ear. Gods his voice as he was absolutely railing you was making this very difficult not to finish on the spot. It didn’t help that his fingers found their way back to your clit rubbing circles as he kept going with his thrusts.
In.
Breaths kept mingling
Out.
Kisses and moans filled the room.
Back in.
“I love you”
“I love you too”
Back out.
Your nails dug into his shoulder as he thrusted, your head tilting back. The release hit you both, his face buried in your neck as he panted against you.
After a few minutes he pulled away looking in your eyes. You looked at him with that same warmth. That soft smile. But from both of you it had an underlying sadness. You looked in his eyes before you swallowed hard, looking down.
“…Jayce..?” You murmured
“Yeah?”
“Do you… really have to go?” You mumbled. He sighed softly.
“Believe me. If I didn’t, I would stay right here with you.” He muttered.
“What if I went with you..?” You muttered.
“Baby, I don’t know how that would go… you died in my reality. If I brought you from this one… you might die… again.” He said softly.
You looked sad. “I’m never going to see you again… am I?” You murmured.
“…I don’t know. I will find a way to come back once all this shit in my reality is over.” He murmured. You swallowed hard.
“And if you can’t?” You muttered.
“I will.” He said determined. You looked in his eyes. You could tell he meant it.
“Then let’s get you to that weird little core then.”
could write an imagine where female reader has angel wings and viktor asks to touch them, but you ask him to do more, help you to comb them.
I appreciate all the requests you made, thank you thank you
It was rather hard to ignore in Heimerdinger's class. One day he looked up and just saw feathers. He did a double take of course, questioning if they were real or not. Then you sneezed and they shot open, knocking over a classmates' notebook. You had wings. Actual wings.
Born from a race thought to be extinct you were born with a set of wings. You were referred to as "The Seraph" and many theorized your birth to be a sign of the end. However your father took you out of the religious fanatical area and moved to Piltover. There you took classes to at least try to lead a somewhat normal life. Still the name Seraph followed you though, many students referring to you as such. You kept to yourself with the exception of one very stubborn healer in training named Lux who became your roommate.
"Sorry- God sorry Lux!" You whispered. "I'm good!" She said, sticking up her hand with a thumbs up. "I hit your face." You said. "Ain't the first time, won't be the last Y/n." She said leaning up. "Is everything alright over here?" Viktor asked, making you jump back and whack Lux again. "Ow" Lux winced. "Sorry! Fuck!" You whined. Viktor rose a brow and you closed your eyes tight. "Happy thoughts. Happy thoughts." You chanted as if it were a personal mantra. Your wings closed. "Sorry they uh.... the wings get out of control if I sneeze or get too scared." You said. "Ah." Viktor nodded looking at them. "Is everything alright?" Heimerdinger asked. "Yes professor" Viktor said. "Lux, are you alright my dear girl?" Heimerdinger asked. Her hand again, shot up with a thumbs up. "Good. Next page!" He said.
When class was over you and Lux went back to the dorms, you sitting on your bed across from her. "Sorry again for the-" "nah I love making people laugh. We have got to make a comedy routine." Lux said making you roll your eyes. You sighed. "I can't believe that that poor guy had to check on us." You mumbled. "Oh Viktor? That's Heimerdinger's assistant, I'm sure he doesn't mind something like that." Lux shrugged. "He had an accent." You remembered. "...Y/n, are you forming a crussshhh?" She teased. Your face went red.
Truth be told you had noticed Viktor the first time you saw him. It was hard to ignore the man with golden eyes. You didn't know his name before this point and to be fair until Viktor heard Lux say your name, he didn't know you either.
The next day, you walked into the class to see Viktor sitting in a chair near where your seat was. You sat down confused but didn't comment. Lux walked in minutes later with coffee. "Damn Gavin was running the stand, I had to CONVINCE him this coffee was for you." She said with a huff. "I told you not to date the coffee stand guy, especially because he was so judgy." You sighed, taking one of the coffees from her. Lux sat down and rose a brow, leaning forward to see across from you.
"Yo. Viktor, what drew you to our corner of the world?" Lux asked. "Nothing in particular." Viktor said, flipping the page in a book he was reading. "Nothing doesn't happen to be sitting next to you and has wings?" Lux asked. He looked up. "What are you implying?" "That you might be wanting to get to know my friend here." Lux said, wriggling her eyesbrows. You slid down in embarrassment, covering your face. "Say hi Y/n" Lux said. "I will force my wings to hit you." You huffed. "Bitch I can take it- OW!" she yelped as the left wing smacked her. Viktor lifted his book to hide the smirk on his face.
You didn't speak again until midway through tue lecture when your pen died. "Crap. Lux, do you have a pen?" You whispered. "No the last one got thrown across the room when you bitch slapped me with Señor Featherbutt." She said through her teeth. You sighed, slightly frustrated until Viktor handed you a pen. "I've got plenty." He whispered. You took it, your fingers grazing his for a brief moment. Your heart pounded before you turned back to your notebook.
When class ended, Viktor was somehow ahead of you. You got up, speedwalking to him. "Uh your pen." You said. He turned. "Ah. Thank you." Viktor nodded, taking it back. You opened your mouth to speak. "Dude, Gavin got into a fight with some dude, it's still going on and Ezreal said he's using the caramel dispenser as a weapon." Lux said. "...Right..." you nodded Viktor raising a brow. "There's a fight on campus?" Viktor asked. "...Yeaaahh prolly shouldn't have said this in front of you." Lux realized. "Show me." Viktor sighed.
You all walked to a small square where two men were fighting (not well either). "TASTE MY VENGEANCE DICK!" The man shrieked as he sprayed the other with whipped cream. "How is this not comedy gold to you?" Lux asked Viktor. Viktor rolled his eyes. "That is enough you two." Viktor sighed. "FUCK OFF!" the other man yelled. As the two men shuffled, one nearly knocked into Viktor until something very strange took place.
A flash of gold light blinded Viktor before both men were on the ground, cowering at the winged figure before them. "Heimerdinger's office. Now." You said in a booming voice. Both men nodded before bolting off. Your wings went back down you sighing. "What was that?" Viktor asked. "Intimidation technique. It's easy really." You said. Viktor blinked a few times before speaking. "I think I'm really going to enjoy having you in this class."
The next few days, Viktor's regular seat became the one near yours. He'd watch you carefully enough to notice when you were about to sneeze, him moving a small distance to avoid the spasm that happened to your wings. You, in exchange of the new closeness, taught him more about yourself. You only lost feathers if you were sick, which wasn't often. You were actually sensitive to people touching your wings, though in what way it was never said and the other thing you explained was that you couldn't stand the nickname people had for you.
When Viktor asked if there was truth behind the supposed holyness, you snorted and said "absolutely fucking not." You were just a tiny freak of nature according to your dad. Not a sign of the end, according to the priests in Ionia. Viktor asked if you could fly at one point and you chuckled. "I can. I don't typically though, unless I'm in a hurry." Was the answer. Which is why when Viktor was reading and felt a large gust, just to look up and see you and Lux covered in water it confused him.
"Why are you wet?" Viktor asked. "Raining cats-and and dogs- fuck I'm cold!" You shivered. Your wings spanned out in full length, shaking before retracting back. Viktor noticed a small twig undeneath one of the feathers, him pulling it out. You jumped, your face red. "You had a... twig." Viktor said, seeing your flustered expression. "GReAT tHAnkS!" You screeched out. "I'm gonna... go to the bAthroom!" You said, getting up and leaving. Lux snorted and Viktor blinked. "Should I have consulted her about the twig first? I'm confused." He said. "Well first off, you being able to touch the wings without getting smacked is a miracle within itself." She said. Viktor rose a brow. "But you touched the most sensitive part of her body dude." She chuckled. "Did I hurt her?" Viktor asked. Lux laughed. "What?" Viktor asked. "Sensitive. Viktor. Sensitive." She said. "Repeating the word isn't helping-" "Dude it's like a sweet spot." She finally said.
Viktor blinked. "...Oh." Viktor realized. "Not like a perverted thing but like scratching a cat under its chin. It's a weird way of affection, you probably just freaked her out." Lux said, pulling out her notebook. "Doesn't help she's got a massive crush on you either." Lux said under her breath. Viktor's eyss widened. "What?"Viktor asked. "Hmm?" Lux realized then she said that out loud. "Okay. Let's learn" you said sitting down. Viktor looked at you and then Lux, Lux shaking her head and putting a finger to her lips. Viktor shook his head.
"Good afternoon everyone!" Heimerdinger greeted. Scattered hellos went around the room. "Turn to page 556 please!" He said. You opened your textbook, Viktor looking at you. "What?" You whispered. "Do you like me?" He asked. Your face went red and Lux facepalmed. "What?" You said, a little louder than intended. "556. Did you not catch that Miss Y/n?" Heimerdinger asked. You cleared your throat. "I thought you said something different, my apologies professor." You lied. "No worries!" Heimerdinger shrugged.
You stared at your textbook, face turning red. "You didn't answer my question" Viktor whispered. "Not. Now." You whispered through gritted teeth. "Lux said you did." Viktor said. "Lux said what." You asked, slowly turning to Lux. "Ahaha....I'm sorry." She said nervously. "You're lucky we're in the middle of a lecture or else I'd be killing you" you said, with a grunt. "I would like to know your answer." Viktor whispered. "Do you have these notes to give me at a later time?" You asked him. "Everything he's teaching can be taught with the Laurence Guidebook in library." "Good. I'm leaving." You said before getting up.
"Oh. Is she not feeling well?" Heimerdinger asked. "It's the rain, we had to run in it. Viktor why don't you go and check on her!" Lux suggested. "I don't know your dorm. "Third floor, our names are on the whiteboard." Lux said.
Which is how Viktor found himself standing in front of the door that had a warning sign with the words "WARNING: May be fluffier than average." With a small drawing of a feather under it. He knocked on the door. "If that's you Lux, I'm not going to kill you." You said. "It's not." Viktor said. He heard sounds of shuffling before the door opened. "Viktor." You breathed. "I really would like an answer." He said. "...Come in" you sighed. He stepped in.
Two beds were on either side of the room, Lux's side was neat, a few posters on the wall about her home country. Your side was covered with different countries, implying you had otherwise been or had a passion for travel. "I do. Like you. By the way." You answered. Viktor sighed with relief, though to you it was unclear. "I am glad to hear that." Viktor said. "You are?" You asked, shocked by his answer. "Y/n, I have noticed you before I started sitting next to you." Viktor said. You swallowed a gulp down, looking at him. You were unsure on what to say. Viktor however seemed to acknowledge this, sliding his hands into yours. "Aside from your wings, I just say you're angelic all the way around." He said. "Actually proper depictions of angels are pretty much eyeballs and wings so I'm not sure how much of an accurate statement that is-" Viktor kissed you, you being shocked initally but eventually embraced it, pulling him closer with your wings. He smiled, you looking in his eyes.
You sat on your bed, talking to him about more personal things, getting know him aside from basic things. Your wings kept him close, almost like an arm wrapped around him. "Y/n, may I touch your wings?" He asked. You handed him a brush. "Do you want to brush them out? I have to because of the rain." You asked. He took the brush and immediately you felt his hands. They were calloused, yet still gentle. You seemed almost like a cat with the way your wings guided his hands. He smiled, feeling the soft feathers. "You have another twig in your feathers." Viktor chuckled.
"I said I could fly, I never said I was good at flying." You said making Viktor snort.
could do an imagine with viktor where reader has to stand on tiptoe to kiss them.🤗🤗
THIS IS SO CUTE!
You were taller than him, this was fairly obvious the moment you stood side by side. Viktor wasn't bothered by this though, he actually found it to be attractive with you.
He enjoyed your presence, he loved having you around. He didn't realize it but he had formed quite the crush on you. He would always smile to the sound of your laugh, him cracking small science based jokes to hear it. You enjoyed him as a person too. You knew how introverted he could be though so you immediately shoved down any crush you may had formed on the man.
Viktor noticed that day creeping up ever so slightly, a gala for inventors was being held. Jayce and Viktor had to go, as did you. Viktor was not looking forward to it by any means but he certainly wanted to go with you. He didn't know how to ask though. Viktor swallowed hard, looking over at you as you entered. You had a pair of welding goggles on your head, pulling back your hair. You were focused, grabbing a wrench from a drawer before disappearing into your own area.
"Have you asked them yet?" Jayce asked. "No." Viktor sighed. "Why not ask them when they come back in?" Jayce suggested. "Well that is the pla-" you bolted back in, grabbing a fire extinguisher from the wall. You bolted out and Viktor swallowed. "Now probably isn't the best time." Viktor said before hearing a loud "FUCK!" Followed by a loud clang. "Definitely not." Jayce agreed before you reentered.
You had some sort of green liquid on your shirt along with soot on your face. "...Are you alright?"Viktor asked as you removed your goggles. You held up a finger to say "one moment" before coughing out soot. "So the engine caught fire." You said. "....Yikes." Jayce winced. "And it sprayed me with some green liquid." You added, pointing to the green on your shirt. "And that stupid gala is in two days, Heimerdinger is expecting me to go and I've got nothing I'm bringing to the table except a engine that catches fire when it's mad." You huffed. Viktor rose a brow. "You say that like it's sentient." He said. "Maybe it is with the way it sprayed at me." You mumbled. "Take a break. I'll get you some coffee." Jayce said. "Thanks." You sighed, sitting on a stood next to Viktor.
Silence fell over the two of you. "So...The gala." Viktor said. "God I'm dreading it." You winced. "Oh I am too, believe me." Viktor said making you smile. God that smile. "I was... wondering though..."Viktor cleared his throat. You rose a brow. "If you wanted to go with me." "Well I'm going anyways." You said confused, not really seeing what he was asking. Viktor feared this might happen, him struggling to vocalize what he meant. "For...get I said anything." He said nervously. You shrugged before Jayce re-entered.
You took the coffee mug from him, smiling as you sipped the warm beverage. Damn it. Why couldn't he just say it? "I like you" shouldn't be this hard, he was a grown man for God's sake, yet he was acting like this was the biggest challenge since completing his degree in engineering.
You soon dismissed yourself, working in your area once more. Jayce noticed Viktor's frustration as he worked. "What happened?" He finally asked. "The wires won't-" "Not with the battery, with Y/n. You seem frustrated since they left." Jayce said. Viktor sighed. "They didn't get what I was asking." Viktor said. "Mm. They do tend to miss when someone is flirting." Jayce nodded. "And you know this because...?" "Caitlin hit on them and it went over their head." Jayce said with a shrug.
Caitlin was sitting across from you on a stool. "So, how's your day?" You asked. "Vi came over today." Caitlin said. "You finally ask her out?" You asked, tinkering with something. "Yes actually." She said. You looked over. "Nice. I'm proud." You said with a smile. "What about you, anything new happen?" Caitlin asked. "No. Well actually there was one weird thing" you admitted. Caitlin rose a brow, pushing the other stool towards you with your foot.
"What happened?" Caitlin asked as you sat down. "Viktor asked me to go to the gala with him, which doesn't make sense because he knows I'm already going." You said. Caitlin gaped. "What?" "You're an idiot." She said. You blinked. "What?" You asked. "He was asking you out Y/n!" Caitlin huffed. "What!? No he wasn't!" You said. "Uh, yes he was jackass." She corrected. "How was that an ask out? We were going to the same event-" "Yet he asked you to go with him." She said. You frowned looking at her. "So... Viktor... he-" "Asked you out." She nodded. You facepalmed. "Oh my god." You whined. "Go!" Caitlin huffed. "What?" You asked. "Go correct your mistake! Now! Go!" She said shoving you out the door.
You stood at the door of the lab and inhaled, reaching for the doorknob before it opened. "Oh! Viktor, Y/n's here." Jayce said. "Ah. Twice in one day, we must be lucky." Viktor said. "Uh... aha... right. Viktor uh can I talk to you?" You asked. He nodded, looking at you. "I'll give you some privacy!" Jayce said leaving. You inhaled. "Is something wrong?" Viktor asked. "When you... asked me to the gala... were you... asking me out?" You asked. "Ah." Viktor sighed. "So you were?" You asked. "Yes I was but it's fine I-" "I like you Viktor." You blurted out. He looked at you with wide eyes. "And I don't want to make you uncomfortable or-or overstep a boundary-" "I like you too Y/n." He said with a soft smile. He stood up, taking your hand. "I have admired you for quite some time and... Y/n, you are my favorite person possibly on this planet." Viktor said. You blushed and he put a hand to your cheek. "So now that the question is more clear, I will ask again: will you go to this ridiculous gala with me?" He asked. You smiled. "Yes I will Viktor" you said with a smile.
He chuckled, using the balance of your hand and his cane, rising to his tiptoes and pressed a kiss to your lips. You blushed crimson as he pulled away. "Does 8:00 sound like a good time to pick you up?" Viktor asked. "Uh-uh yeah." You nodded. "Then I will see you then." He said with a smile. You nodded mindlessly as you left the lab, your face red as a tomato. Caitlin and Jayce were standing outside in the hall, talking when they saw you. "Y/n, you good?" Caitlin asked. "...Yep. just uh... just peachy." You nodded before wandering off. "What the hell happened?" Jayce asked Caitlin as you walked away. "I have no clue."

Weakness
You were a frustrating specimen to Viktor. The man knew you well. Dating for months the two of you were becoming a bit more... active as of late. You had figured out his sweet spot a little too easily whereas Viktor was having difficulty finding a weak point with you.
You discovering Viktor's secret was an accident that sparked after a long night for Viktor. He was tired and aggravated but you were a perfect distraction that straddled his lap the instant he sat down. He smiled at you, moving strands of your hair from your eyes before you kissed him passionately. "How was work?" You asked between kisses. "It was work. Uneventful." He muttered between breaths. You tugged at his tie and he removed it smiling at you. You kissed him again, unbuttoning the top few buttons of his shirt.
"Anything new?" You asked again, between the kisses. "No nothi-ah" he let out a light moan the second your lips connected to his neck. You pulled back with a small smile. "Oh this is golden" you giggled. Vitkor rolled his eyes. "There's no need to make a big dea-ah" he was cut off by you kissing his neck once more, your kisses feeling like electricity to him as you unbuttoned more of his shirt. His fingers traced your arms as more groans of pleasure came from Viktor before you grinded against him, him becoming a mess as you carried on.
Viktor felt beads of sweat forming before you pulled back, smiling at the golden eyed man who was coming more and more undone by the second. Viktor never minded the times you took control but this was frustrating. His weak spot was known to you. This would be something you'd use to your advantage.
Viktor sat on his stool watching you work with Jayce in silence. Everyone had a weak spot. What in the hell was yours? You looked up noticing the staring and you gave Viktor that little kind smile. That same one that made him fall for you. My god he loved you but this was frustrating. It was like a confusing puzzle and Viktor was determined to know how to solve it. You refused him hints, you saying that if you had to figure out Viktor's weak spot on your own, he couldn't get a hint either.
"Is something wrong dear?" You asked, Viktor not realizing he had been staring. "No, just admiring the view." He said with a smile. Jayce rolled his eyes. "Get a room." Jayce gagged. You chuckled softly before going back to your clipboard. Viktor sighed as you all stood around the blackboard, Viktor standing behind you. Jayce started rambling on about where you all potentially went wrong. However, Viktor noticed your vision occasionally wander over to Viktor's before returning to the board.
Then it happened. Viktor's clue. He leaned ever so slightly down to your ear. "Are you alright darling?"he asked. You jolted forward, face rapidly turning red as you did. Jayce turned to you. "You good?" Jayce asked. "I'm fine!" You said, Viktor confused by what he had done. You straightened up, returning to your spot. "Y/n?" Viktor again whispered in your ear, your face becoming even more red as he did. Viktor was confused. What was making you act like this? "Y/n, are you okay?" He whispered again. Then he got his answer "stop. Talking. In. My. Ear." You said through your teeth. Viktor rose a brow. "Wait that's what your weak point is?" Viktor asked aloud.
Jayce turned to see a taken aback Viktor and a very red you. He rolled his eyes. "You two are lucky it is late. Go home, we'll talk more in the morning" Jayce sighed before you practically bolted. "Oh you'll have to run faster than that Y/n, I do like seeing you move in front of me." Viktor teased as you both were walking. Thanks to Viktor's new metal limbs, the bastard was actually able to keep up with you now. You opened the door to the apartment, you sighing. "So I'm right? Whispering in your-'" "Yes! Okay! I didn't even know that was something I liked until you did it one day by accident and then you did it and-" you sighed. Viktor smirked, dropping his bag and closing the door.
Your heart pounded in your ears as Viktor practically cornered you against the wall. You felt yourself swallow hard as his lips moved closer to your ear. "I think I rather enjoy this flustered side to you my dear." He said. Your face was red as his fingers slid beneath your chin. "Now... I believe you enjoyed using my weakness to your advantage... let's see how well you function when the tables turn" he said, again in your ear so that he'd know you were weak in the knees.
You opened your mouth but before a small comment could fly out of your mouth, a hand was between your legs, Viktor rubbing you through your panties. You gripped his shoulder, struggling to stand on your own. "V-viktor-" you were shaking. "I need words." He said in your ear again. You nearly dropped to the floor but Viktor was holding you upright. "I-I" "mhm?" His voice said. "I n-need to-to sit- please-" you begged. He smiled taking your hand. He guided you to the bedroom, you sitting on the bed. Viktor was already a few steps ahead of you, undressing as he was entering. "I have to say.. I really enjoy this dominate side to you." You muttered.
Viktor let out a low chuckle before he slowly pushed you back, moving your hands so they'd be above your head. "Do you?" He asked, again in your ear. Shivers went through your body as Viktor took his freehand and slid it into your panties. "So when did you know this was something you enjoyed?" Viktor asked, rubbing you. You squirmed ever so slightly. "I-I was w-working- ah~" you panted as you tried to answer the question. "Yes?" "You h-had leaned ove-over my-my shoulder- Viktor oh god" you moaned. Viktor smiled, slowing the pace of the circles he was tracing against your clit. "Y-you asked me-me what I-I wan-wanted to do when we go-got home." You whined. Viktor slid his fingers in you and you yelped, Viktor keeping a slow pace. "I see." Viktor said, still keeping his mouth close to your ear. Your body felt like it was pulsating with energy.
"Viktor- Oh god" you moaned as he quicked his pace with his fingers. "You look so precious when you're coming undone beneath me. I think it suits you." He said, your head tilting back. If your hands were free you'd be gripping the sheets but your hands were being held by Viktor as he hung over you. "Do you know how beautifully frustrating it was to question how to break you?" Viktor asked. You whined as his fingers sped up. You wanted more than just those fingers but you knew Viktor wasn't going to give in just yet. "I wanted to find your weakness so badly. I nearly begged you to tell me." Viktor said, voice low as he slowed his pace. Your body was aching. "And then I find it" he sped back up "completely" he curled his fingers and you felt your body practically spark. "By" you were instinctively grinding against his hand. "Accident." He said before sliding his fingers out. You panted, out of breath.
Your heart was pounding. "Viktor-please I-I need you" you whined. He smiled, pressing a kiss to you before sliding your skirt completely off, pulling your panties down with it. You removed your shirt before Viktor halted your movements. He slid off your shirt, pulling you up. You were sitting up now, slightly confused before Viktor sat in front of you, motioning for you to sit on him. Your heart raced as you felt him enter you, you letting a shuddering moan of pleasure. "I want to see you completely undone. Not just flustered." Viktor said in your ear. You nodded as you began to feel him move. Your expression was one of pure vulnerability, Viktor analyzing every inch of your body as he quickened his pace, raising himself before he was back on top of you.
You nearly blocked your face with your arm but he pulled it back, kissing you before thrusting harder into you. You moaned, over and over his name drew to your lips. It was the one consistent thought you had outside of how you were getting back at him later. He kept whispering in your ear, things like "that's it, just like that my dear." And "Say my name" you felt yourself tighten around Viktor, him grunting before you felt yourself let go.
Viktor caressed your cheek, smiling at you. "I think I like it when you're weak for me." He said making you huff as he laid next to you. "Oh I'm positive you will. But this is something I can get used to." He said making you roll your eyes. "Don't let this go to your head hotshot, that wasn't even the secret I meant." You said. Viktor rose a brow. "Oh really?" Viktor asked. "I'm still making you figure it out on your own." You said. Viktor smirked. "You seem to forget I've got a new way to get this out of you." He said.
"Well then pretty boy, let's see what you've got."

Warnings: Sickness, swearing, mentions of death
Viktor coughed as he worked, you noticing the use of his handkerchief. He wasn't aware of your watchful eyes, he thought he was doing a good job of keeping his declining health a secret. To a degree this was true, his partner Jayce being ignorant to this situation. You wouldn't challenge Viktor though, you knew it'd be for nothing.
You would lend him a helping hand if he required it. You knew there had to be a ton of pressure on the man, compared to Jayce. Jayce had accepted a role into politics, Viktor keeping his scientific career. According to him, the whole system was corrupt, so why give a damn about politics if it'll be rigged against him regardless. Viktor seemed to be very upfront with you about his thoughts.
Viktor cleared his throat, coughing again when you finally set tea in front of him. "To soothe your throat." You told him gently. He nodded, muttering a small thank you. He sipped on it before raising a brow. "Honey?" "What?" You asked, thinking for a moment the man might've called you by a petname. "Did you put honey in this?" He asked. Oh. Oh that was all. "Yeah." You admitted. "It's good." He nodded before turning back to his work.
You always made it a point to take Viktor home, figuring a man who required a cane walking the streets by himself was a terrible idea. Still he would encourage you to leave, yet you always said no. "I don't suppose you're leaving until I do?" Viktor asked. "Your assumption is correct sir." You nodded. He put down the screwdriver. "Okay. Let's-" he coughed again and you had a worried expression as he leaned forward with his handkerchief. "That's been happening more Viktor..." you muttered, putting a hand on his back. Viktor cleared his throat as you kneeled. "I didn't think anyone noticed." He admitted. "Jayce didn't. I did. You've been coughing up blood." You mumbled. He rose a brow before coughing again "Maybe we should take you to the infirmary-" "No. Absolutely not." He halted. You frowned. "Why?" "Because that will set back my work." He said. You sighed. "Just... keep an eye on your health sir." You said with a frown.
The next day, Viktor kept coughing. When Jayce asked if he was okay, Viktor gave a bullshit claim that his allergies were bothering him. You didn't say anything yet again. When night fell over Piltover, Jayce disappeared, leaving you alone with Viktor. He kept coughing and you sighed. "Viktor, you need help." You said. "No." "Viktor." You grumbled. "I do not-" "Viktor you can't catch your breath and you're red in the face! For the love of god TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!" you snapped. Viktor was unusually silent. You looked at him before he swayed slightly and fell over. You gasped, sprinting to his side and slinging his arm over your shoulder.
You stayed with him all night, waiting for Jayce in the infirmary. Jayce sat next to you. "What happened?" He asked. "He collapsed..." you muttered. "I hope everything is fine." Jayce muttered. You knew better. Something was wrong. What it was, you weren't sure. But something was off. Finally it was told. Kidney failure.
"Well what can we do?" Jayce asked the doctor. "I don't suppose either of you would donate a kidney-" "Where do I sign?" You asked immediately. Jayce looked at you shocked. ".....You would do that?" Jayce asked. "Piltover needs Viktor and so does Zaun. He's important and I'm not letting him die, not now." You said. Jayce nodded slightly. "....Well we just need you to sign the forms." The doctor said after a long silence.
Viktor woke up with a light hitting his eyes. He grunted before feeling a slight pain. "Careful! Don't pop the stitches." Jayce said noticing his movement. Viktor blinked a few times. He noticed your jacket on a chair but your presence was absent. "Stitches?" Viktor asked. "Yeah. You had to have a kidney transplant" Jayce said. Viktor frowned. "I wasn't aware I was even on a list for donation." He said confused. "There was a volunteer." Jayce said. "What? Who?" Viktor asked. "Someone who thought the world needed you." Jayce said before moving the curtain that separated Viktor from the hospital bed near him.
There you were, asleep still. Viktor's eyes widened. "They... they did... what?" Viktor asked. "Y/n donated their kidney." Jayce said. ".....Why?" "Because you needed help." You said groggily. Viktor looked over. "You didn't need-" "There's plenty of assistants in the world.... But there's only one Viktor. The world needs you Viktor." You said. "Plus I got two. Well had two." You joked making him look at you. "I don't regret doing it. And apparently you seemed to take to it." You said. "Hold on, why didn't Jayce volunteer?" Viktor asked.
"He's too much of a bitch." You said. "Wha- hey!" Jayce said. "I just donated a kidney, you screamed like a little girl when you first saw my stitches." You said making Viktor snort. You smiled over at him before sighing. "Plus, my kidneys are in okay shape, I can afford to operate with one kidney. You can't." You added. Viktor looked over at you. "What if... something would've happened to you?" He asked. "Then it would've been worth it if you pulled through" you said before acting as if you fell asleep.
Over the next few weeks, Viktor was making his best efforts to make you comfortable. He owed you his life. Your confidence in your answer of "the world needs you" was so quick, it made Viktor believe you'd thought about that beforehand. Everything seemed fine, you were healthy. At least to Viktor's knowledge. A bit of information slipped out to Viktor when he was speaking with the doctor.
You had died on the table during the removal process. Something reacted to the drugs that were used to sedate you. You actually were healthy to a degree, but there was some sort of unknown issue to you and certain medications. Viktor was mortified by this information, asking if you were aware of this, but according to the doctor you were. Viktor watched you read silently.
"Can I help you sir?" You asked. "...When were you going to tell me you died on the table?" Viktor asked. You looked up. "Ah. You know." You realized. You were eerily calm. "Y/n, what would've happened if you weren't able to be revived?" Viktor asked. "Then I would've died." You shrugged. "You shrug this off like you don't care." He said. "I don't." You said simply. Viktor frowned. "Why?" He asked. "Viktor-" "Why do you care about my life but not your own?" Viktor asked. You sighed, closing your book. "I chose to donate my kidney because you needed help. I chose that knowing the risks. I am still here, why does this matter now?" You asked. "Because I don't know what I would've done if I lost you!" Viktor snapped.
You looked at him. "I can't imagine this world without you in it Y/n, you mean too much to me for you to do something that reckless and stupid again." He said. "Helping you wasn't stupid." "It is when it's me, I'm dying I've accepted that fate." He sighed. "Sir, why do you act like your life means nothing?" You asked. "Why do you act like I am a walking inspiration?" "Because you are sir. To a ton of people." You said. He sighed. "I know you don't realize it but you're a beacon of hope to a ton of people from Zaun. You came from nothing. You came from the undercity and now look at you. You're an inventor, a scientist and a inspiration that proves that the stereotype of people from Zaun being criminals and only lowlives, isn't true. You are amazing Viktor, you are needed in this world." You said.
Viktor paused, looking at you. You sighed. "What's wrong now sir?" You asked. Viktor ran a hand over his face. "I don't mean... to upset you. I just hate the... the idea that you could've died in hopes of saving me."Viktor admitted. You sighed. "I know. I know I was careless to an extent but it was worth it. You're alive, you're okay." You said softly. Viktor looked at you. "You called me by my name." He realized. "...Sorry sir it won't-" "Please... don't call me sir." He said to you. You blinked. "Uh..'" "It makes me feel like I'm way too superior I... I'm not above you Y/n, you're my equal" he said. You nodded. "Okay." You nodded.
"Y/n...I do appreciate what you did." He said. You smiled slightly. "And for the record... I know you said I'm an inspiration, you inspire me." He added before walking away. Your face grew warm, a blush spreading onto your face. Jayce sat down. "What's with you?" He asked. You looked down at your book. "N-nothing. Nothing at all." You lied. Jayce rose a brow but said nothing, looking down at his clipboard.
You and Viktor seemed to be stumbling over each other more and more now, bumping into him, touching each other unintentionally when reaching for the same object. Viktor didn't regret what he said to you by any means. It seemed though, his little comment of encouragement was creating a tension. Jayce was watching everything unfold before him with confusion. When he first saw the tension it was because you both tried to go into the same direction, you two both stumbling over a way to tell the other to move.
Seeing as Viktor was always a bit more on the blunt side, it was weird to see a noticeable politeness towards you. Holding open door, saying "thank you" or even just a simple good morning was a shocking thing to witness. It was fairly obvious to Jayce that Viktor formed a sort of crush on you and you CLEARLY returned the feelings. However Jayce decided to moreso witness everything and be a silent watcher, not saying a word about anything.
You had been looking at the papers Viktor had given you when you heard the familiar greeting. "Morning." Viktor greeted, setting a cup of coffee at your workstation. "Thank you Viktor." You said with a small smile. He had never gotten coffee for you before. Actually, you showing up before him was weird within itself. "...Is there a special reason you got them coffee and not me?" Jayce asked. "It's their birthday." Viktor answered as he sat down. "Wait it is?" Jayce asked. "It is? Wait what day is it?" You asked. "...B/d." Viktor answered. "Oh yeah. It is." You realized. "Shit I didn't get you anything!" Jayce said. "Well it's fine I didn't even realize it was my birthday-" "I'm getting you something!" Jayce said before leaving. "Annnddd he's gone." You sighed.
Then it hit you. "Viktor... how did you know it was my birthday?" You asked. "You really think I'd get an assistant and not ask when their birthday was?"Viktor asked. "...So you'd do this for anyone working for you?" You asked. A blush fell over the man as he scratched the back of his neck. "Well I mean it's just coffee." He stuttered. A small form of disappointment fell over you. "For now at least." He added. "For now? What do you mean for now?" "I heard Heimerdinger has something planned as well." He said. "....Oh god no." "Y/NNNN!" "no no no no" "Happy birthday my dear!" Heimerdinger said excitedly. "Thank you, that's all I need-" "Here's a basket!" He said, putting it on the counter.
There was a giftbasket with an assortment of things inside of it. "...Huh." you said looking at it. It moved making you jump back. Viktor rose a brow as a poro emerged making you blink. "....Is that a poro?" You asked. Viktor slipped past you as the creature seemed to jump into your arms. Its fur was soft as it nuzzled into your chest. "It was Viktor's suggestion! He told me of a conversation the two of you regarding my poro and how you'd like to own one." Heimerdinger said with a "matter of fact" tone. You looked at Viktor as he reached for the doornob. "Now, I'll let you to your new friend. Have fun, they're rather easy to take care of." Heimerdinger said leaving.
You held the creature and Viktor seemed to attempt to slip out before you spoke. "You remembered that comment?" You asked. He swallowed before stepping away from the door. "....I remember everything you tell me." He admitted. Your gaze softened, you setting down the creature. It stared at you confused as you walked over to Viktor. You, to his surprise, hugged him. "Thank you." You whispered. He held you close, smiling to himself.
You both pulled away, looking at each other. How long you stood there, you didn't know but you couldn't cut the tension that formed with a knife with the way you two just watched each other's lips. The door opened and both of you bolted apart, Jayce walked through the door. "I top your coffee with cupcakes-Oh son of a bitch someone got you a poro?" Jayce asked. "What-Oh right." You breathed. "...Can I pet it?" Jayce asked setting the cupcakes down. "Yeah go for it." You said, clearing your throat. Viktor slipped out as you turned back to your work.
When Jayce left, Viktor finally came back assuming you left with him. However when he returned there you were with the poro on your desk as you worked. You looked up, swallowing. Viktor seemed to nearly slip back out. "Wait" you halted. "Why have you been avoiding me?"you asked. "You never really have time to yourself I just figured-" "Viktor what's going on?" You asked. He swallowed. "...Did I do something?" You asked. "What? No. God no." Viktor said. "Then what is going on?" You asked. He swallowed hard, looking down.
"I don't handle getting close to people very well." He said. "Oh" you said "I... I've grown quite fond of you." Viktor said. You nodded. "...Quite. fond."he added for context. You looked at him confused until it hit you. "Oh" you said, barely audible. "And I don't want to step out of line or anything so I'm trying to keep you at an arms length-" "Viktor... I've grown quite fond of you for quite some time now." You said. He blinked. "You have?" "I believe somewhere after the Ohm's law joke." You recalled. He smiled. "Oh?" He asked, moving closer to you. "Oh yeah, it was so bad. What's a monk's favorite law? Ohm's law? Really-" Viktor's closeness caught you off guard. You swallowed as both of you looked at each other.
You leaned in and-
Squeak
Suddenly fur was between you and Viktor making you laugh. "Damn it Watson." You laughed, the poro making a happy squeak noise, Viktor chuckling. "I don't suppose you'd accompany me to dinner, would you?" You smiled. "Absolutely. Just as long as they allow poros."
Summary: Viktor is assigned a doctor. She's stubborn but the two form a bond.
Warnings: Medical stuff, trauma, ptsd, smut
Note: On a Viktor binge, literally I have plans for other characters like Ekko and Jinx but it's like more keep coming for Viktor.
You were a doctor. You were known to help people from Zaun with ailments best to your abilities. Which is why when a professor from Piltover wished to speak to you, you were surprised but indulged the man.
Heimerdinger told you of a young man who was from Zaun who was actively dying. Heimerdinger was a good friend to you so the second he wanted your assistance, you came. "So who is he?" You asked. "He used to be my assistant, he managed to create something though that's promoted him from that simple status." Heimerdinger stated. You nodded. "Does he know I'm here?" "Yes, he's not exactly happy with me." Heimerdinger sighed. "Mm. Stubborn?" You asked. "Very." "Gee, I wonder where he got that from." You said sarcastically making Heimerdinger smile. "He doesn't want anyone to know... that he's..." Heimerdinger seemed like he couldn't bring himself to say it outloud and you put a hand on the professor's shoulder. "I understand." You nodded. "I've said you're his assistant." He said. "Tch. That'll make sense when they ask for my assistance and I can't tell them jack shit on mechanical engineering." You said. "Well, I also said your specialty is Chemical Engineering" he said. "... The one time my bachelor's degree is useful." You said earning a chuckle.
You walked into the laboratory, seeing the trinkets all over the room. Papers were scattered everywhere, especially on the counters that lined the wall. There was a black board with equations scattered across it, a window near it that had a half pulled down blind. You caught the attention of a brunette man. "Oh, Viktor, your assistant is here." He said. Viktor clenched his jaw, clearly dreading your presence already.
What he didn't expect was to be met with a beautiful sight of a woman. You certainly didn't expect the man's eyes to be golden but they were. You two stared at each other in silence before you cleared your throat. "My name is Doctor Y/n L/n, I'm the chemist." You said. Jayce nodded. "Had no idea you were a doctor, that's impressive." Jayce said. "Thank you" you nodded. You had a box in your arms "is there a place I can put this?" You asked. "Oh yeah, there's a desk over there by the bathroom." He said. You nodded, walking over to the desk. Truth be told your medical equipment was in the box.
You knew Viktor wanted to keep this private and you wanted to respect those wishes. Viktor turned back to his work and you stared, already making mental notes on his terrible posture. Your eyes wandered over to the crutch he used, noting the lack of a grip. You wondered if he had been desensitized to the pain of his underarm being pressured down onto the crutch. You walked over, looking closely at it.
"Can I help you?" Viktor asked. You noticed a tape measure next to him and you picked it up, measuring the length of the handle before walking back over to your desk. Jayce and Viktor exchanged a look as you dug through your box before pulling out a grip. You walked over, attaching it. "There. Should make it more comfortable." You said before sitting at your desk. Viktor rose a brow. "You carry around cane grips?" Jayce asked. "Yeah, you'd be surprised how many chemists use them. You fuck around with enough chemicals, it kind of destroys your body." You said, writing observations down.
You already noticed that word useage of Jayce. Cane, he called it a cane. When you saw the crutch, you noticed the lower handle which did make you think maybe he used a cane beforehand. If that was the case, it meant Viktor was in fact getting worse. The other thing you noted was the picture on Jayce's desk. His arm was around Viktor who looked reluctant but gave a half assed smile for a photo. You took note though, of the fact Viktor looked healthier in the photo than what you were seeing now. You wrote down rough estimates of his weight, you noted things on his person you could see like the handkerchief.
When Jayce left as dusk settled in, you finally spoke directly to Viktor. "So... How long has your health been declining?" You asked. Viktor was tinkering with something, light metallic tapping keeping the room from being totally quiet. "Okay, can I at least get a height? Weight? Anything?" Viktor clenched his jaw again. You took notice and sighed. "I'm not here to fuck up your life or your system Viktor, I am here to help you." You said. Viktor stopped, turning to you. "I didn't ask for your help, it was forced on me." "By someone who's concerned." You said. "It doesn't matter. I didn't consent to this. So why don't you take your boxes and leave?" He asked. "I can't." You sighed. "Why not?" He asked. "Heimerdinger wanted me to help you. I owe him one. I'm not going to stop trying to help you Viktor." You said.
Viktor shook his head. "There is no point. I am nearly thirty, I am too far gone." He said. "Well, that gives me an approximate age." You muttered. Viktor rose a brow, noticing you writing it down. "....How many estimates do you have?" He asked. You looked up. "I'm guessing you're 27. Am I correct?" You asked. "....Yes." "okay. Now we're getting somewhere. Judging from your cane size, I'm thinking you're about 5'10 when your posture isn't shit, I'm also assuming your crutch wasn't always a crutch seeing as the bottom half resembles a cane a little too closely. From the looks of it, you started getting worse about five or six years ago, you look like you're about 125 pounds, give or take, I'm assuming from the cane upgrade to begin with, you've been sick for most likely your entire life. Someone from Piltover wouldn't have upgraded their equipment, they would've purchased it new, so I'm thinking Zaun. Are any of my observations about you off?" You asked.
Viktor was slightly taken aback. "How... did you-" "I could estimate your height from your crutch, the pound thing is just me taking a shot in the dark, the age thing comes from the picture on your partner's desk and I'm primarily stationed in Zaun, I can recognize muscle deterioration when I see it." You explained, pointing at him with your pen. As much as Viktor didn't like a doctor pressured on him, he couldn't help but be impressed by your deduction skills. "I am not your enemy Viktor. But I also don't need to be your friend. Whether you like it or not, me and you are stuck with each other. I'd start getting used to it." You sighed.
Viktor leaned back on the counter. "How many times did you rehearse that speech on the way here? Five? Six?" "Mhm. First thing we're discussing is a backbrace." You said, pulling a stool over. You sat in front of him. "This is not necessary-" "I am your doctor, I will decide what is. Trust me, for your sake long term, you will want that back brace." You halted. He sighed. "Any previous conditions I should know about?" You asked. "This is ridiculous-" "Stop making side comments and answer." You sighed. He glared. "I have problems with my lungs." He said after a bit. "Got it." You nodded. "Do you take vitamins?" "A few." He nodded. "Ever consider taking fish oil tablets?" You asked. He shook his head. "I have some if you'd like to try it." You offered. "I'm fine." He huffed. "I'm still sending them home with you, I have an overflow." You sighed.
When Viktor finally left, he felt like he left an interrogation. He was sent home with those damn fish oil pills. They sounded absolutely disgusting. Viktor walked into his apartment, going to throw them away but stopped. Maybe he'd try it. Just once. So he kept them, putting them on the kitchen counter.
The next morning when Viktor woke up and made coffee he looked at them, sighing. He felt like he just gave into whatever mind games you were using as he took one of the pills. He grimaced at the texture gagging after he washed it down with coffee. When he came in early, he discovered you were already there, sitting at your desk. You looked over. "Good morning." You greeted. He noticed something propped against the wall. "Tell me that's not what I think it is." He sighed. "Well if you guessed backbrace, then congratulations! You get a cookie." You said with fake enthusiasm. He stared at you. "...I mean, I do keep a legitimate pack of cookies if you want one-" "I'm fine."
He grumbled the entire time as you showed him how to use the backbrace. Yet he listened to you. You rose a brow, looking at something. "What? Wha- what are you-" you got closer, moving hair out of the way. "Did you hit your head this morning?"you asked. "I sneezed and hit my forehead on the medicine cabinet" he admitted. "A mistake I've made a lot more than I'd like to admit. Give me a moment." You said. You came over with disinfectant and a small bandaid.
You started unpackaging the cotton balls from the small plastic bag they were in. "So how did you end up at the academy if you're from Zaun?" You asked. Viktor sighed. "I... stole a uniform and pretended to be a student for a while until Heimerdinger took me in." He said. You cracked a smile before tapping the wound. He winced and you apologized. "Sorry. Sorry..." you muttered. "Where are you from?" Viktor asked. "Believe it or not... also Zaun." You said. Viktor blinked, taken aback. "You're from Zaun?" He asked. "Yep." You nodded. "How did you make it here?" He asked. "I got arrested." You said.
Viktor stared at you, waiting for context. "I was a teenager... some revolution sparked in the Undercity and my goal was to just help as a medic. I was patching up this woman and an enforcer grabbed me by the hair and pulled me away." You muttered. Viktor was now ignoring the pain of the disinfectant. "The woman died.... and the enforcer kept saying I was an accomplice in the death around me and I'd pay for my crimes. When a 14 year old was brought before the council, they were not amused. So... I made my plea. I begged for them to just help my people... Heimerdinger saw something in me I guess and had the charges dropped." You explained. You put the bandage over the small cut. "He helped me all the way through medical school. Which is why I'm so strict on helping you." You said.
Viktor swallowed. "...You're very bossy, you know that right?" He asked. "Eh. I'm your doctor. I get to be. Now... I was serious about the cookie comment earlier, do you want one?" You asked. Viktor cracked a smile as you held up a cookie. "Come on, join the dark side. We have cookies." You said. "How is it my doctor is encouraging sweets?" He asked. "Chocolate is good for you actually. As is coffee." You explained. He took the cookie and you smiled.
You and Viktor had your moments where you two nearly strangled each other but once the dust settled the two of you seemed to have a pleasant rhythm. Viktor and Jayce started working later hours though and you were becoming concerned for Viktor's health.
He was improving, which made you relieved but you also knew that if he made a wrong step he could undo that progress. You started walking him home, which he rolled his eyes at but seemed to be grateful for nonetheless. Jayce however, was becoming suspicious on your reasoning for being there. He was seriously doubting your degree with chemistry. Unbeknownst to you or Viktor he started looking into things.
Jayce walked in, looking at you. "So you're not a chemist." He said. You looked up. "Scuse me?" You asked. "You're not a chemist. You're a doctor, but not in chemistry."Jayce said. You furrowed your brow. "Why do you-" "Records are shockingly easy to come by here." Jayce said. "Why are you here? Does Heimerdinger know? Does anyone know?" Jayce asked. Viktor sighed. "She's here for me Jayce." Viktor said. Jayce looked over. "What?" "My health is declining, it has been since I was five. Heimerdinger thought it'd be a good idea to get a doctor to stay by me." He said. You mouthed a "thank you" to Viktor and he nodded.
"So... you've been lying to me." Jayce said. "Jayce, he's a private person, it took me a week for his insurance information and I'm his doctor." You defended. "I'm his best friend! And he didn't think to tell me that he's dying!" Jayce said. "Jayce-" "Save it! I'm taking the day off." He halted before leaving. Viktor sighed. "I'll talk to him." You said getting up.
Jayce sat in the lunch hall, staring at his plate of unidentifiable slop. "Mm. Love mysterious gray stuff." You said sitting in front of him. Jayce looked at you and then back to the food. "What do you want?" He muttered. "To make sure you're okay." You said. "That's not in your job description apparently." Jayce said. "Actually it is." You corrected. He looked up. "I have lost count of the amount of times I have had to have this conversation with people. Breaking terrible news and explaining to families that this is a normal reaction comes with the territory." You said. Jayce looked at you and sighed. "You're... really hard to hate when you make yourself relatable." He muttered. "That's the point." You said. Jayce sighed. "Is he going to be okay?" Jayce asked. You looked at Jayce. "I don't know." You admitted.
"People from Zaun, their bodies react differently to the pollution. My body had a miniscule reaction minus the asthma. Viktor however has other issues." You explained. Jayce nodded. "I am doing everything I can. But he needs you to be that annoying little voice in his ear that tells him to take a break every now and again. Okay?" Jayce nodded and sighed. "Okay."
Now that it was known to Jayce of the situation, he was witnessing the extent of Viktor's stubbornness. "This is literally just nasal spray- STOP BEING A BABY!" you yelled. "Get away from me- I am fine!" "Your allergies will flare up- JUST TAKE THE FUCKING MEDICINE!" "NO!" Jayce watched the two of you bicker, you eventually weasling yourself into his personal space and forcing it up his nose. "Gah- what the hell Y/n!?" "Well you wouldn't take it without force! I literally have had five year olds take this with no problem but nooooooo Viktor had to throw a bitch fit." You huffed. "It was not a 'bitch fit'" Viktor huffed. "It was totally a bitch fit." Jayce agreed. "HA! Jayce agrees." You said. "I'm not sure I enjoy this dynamic of yours." Viktor said. "You're just mad because we call you out when you act like a two year old." You said. Viktor rolled his eyes but smiled slightly.
Over the months, Viktor seemed to be fine. You were still adamant about him taking medication. Viktor still would but he was becoming too careless with the way he worked. He didn't know how bad it was getting until one morning he coughed up blood. He stared at the blood in his sink, him realizing that it was a sign that he wasn't okay.
He walked into the lab and you looked up. "Morning Vik, how's it going?" You asked. He debated on being honest. He debated on telling you. But he nodded and said he was okay and you were none the wiser. "Oh, I need more fish oil tablets." He said. You cracked a smile. "You've been taking them."you realized. "Maybe." "So, you know how you feel when you have a scientific breakthrough?" You asked. "...Yes?" "This is me right now. See this? This is happy. You caused this. Isn't it nice?" You asked. Viktor rolled his eyes but found himself smiling. "Oh- YOU CAN SMILE!? HOLY SHIT!" he found himself shaking his head but still smiling. You had this gut feeling though that something was wrong. You were shoving it down because Viktor seemed fine but you felt it in your heart, something was wrong.
Jayce walked in. "Hey Viktor, walkthrough is happening." He reminded. Viktor nodded grabbing his crutch and walking out. You chuckled, shaking your head. Viktor walked out with Jayce. He followed Jayce as he walked through the school with new students. Viktor at first, was fine. Then his throat started to hurt and while Jayce was preoccupied, Viktor coughed up more blood. This time it was more. He muttered a "fuck" under his breath, Jayce thankfully not noticing his coughing fit. Viktor walked over to him, telling him calmly that he wasn't feeling great. Viktor skipped out on going to you and just went home.
Jayce after a bit went back to lab and noticed Viktor's absence. "Did you send Viktor home?" Jayce asked. "No? Why?" You asked. "He said he wasn't feeling well and now he's not here..." Jayce said. You frowned. "Where does he live?"
Viktor sat on his couch coughing. He sighed, frustrated. He heard rapid knocking and got up, opening the door to a very much pissed off you. "What is wrong?" You asked. "I-" he was cut off by another coughing fit and you looked at him as he coughed into his handkerchief, you noticing the forming spot of blood on it. "Oh shit- why didn't you say anything Viktor!?" You asked, walking in. You pulled him with you, forcing him to sit down. You looked around, noticing the kitchen and grabbed a glass and filled it with water before rifling through your back and pulled out a pill.
You handed him both and Viktor sighed. He shook his head but took it. "I swear I have never had a patient be this stubborn since.." you pinched the bridge of your nose. "Then just give up." Viktor said. "That's not how this arrangement works. I don't give up. I never do." You said. "Why don't you? I have already accepted death, I know I'm going to die!" "I promised Heimerdinger I'd help you. I'm doing my fucking best Viktor." You snapped. He shook his head and set down the glass of water.
"I don't need your help. I don't want your help. I said it before, I meant it." Viktor snapped. "I am not going to just leave you Viktor, you cannot make me-" "why are you just this stubborn!? Why!? What in the hell makes you this fucking stubborn to just let me die!?" He asked. Flashes of the woman on the bridge flooded your memory but you powered through it. "I am not your experiment, I am not a miracle patient that will mystically be okay with your help-" "you don't think I don't know that? I know Viktor, I have known this but I'm still fighting for you!" "WHY!?" "BECAUSE SOMEONE FUCKING HAS TO!"
You could hear a loud pitch. It was becoming too loud to hear whatever Viktor was saying. You moved back as Viktor got closer. He noticed that look in your eyes, one of panic. All you could see was the woman on the bridge.
Door
"Y/n? What's going on with you?"
You moved back quickly as the image of the woman flashed in your mind again.
Where is the door?
Your eyes darted from area to area as your heart was pounding in your ears. "Y/n?"
Where the fuck is the door?
Viktor moved closer but you moved back, tripping over the leg of one of the chairs. You hit the ground, moving back into a corner. Viktor noticed sweat beading on your brow, the noises of hyperventilating filling the room. He slowly grabbed the glass of water from the coffee table and walked over to you. Using his crutch he kneeled to you.
You put your hands over your ears, closing your eyes praying she'd go away. You felt hands grasp your wrists, gently pulling them away. "Y/n, open your eyes." Viktor said. His voice had changed from one of anger to something gentle and soothing. "How many fingers am I holding up?" He asked. You eyes drifted to his hands. "T-two" he nodded. "What color is my shirt?" "R-red." You answered. "What's this?" "A... glass of-of water." He handed it to you, him picking up your hand and guiding it to the glass. You slowly sipped on the water, silence filling the room now.
You looked at Viktor with a sigh. "This isn't appropriate for my patient to do this." You muttered after a bit. "Neither is attacking me with nasal spray, but here we are." Viktor said. You let out a small laugh and then sighed. "I'll make a deal with you." You said. Viktor rose a brow. "I'll tone down the medical attacking if you're honest and upfront with me." You said. Viktor looked at you before nodding. "Deal" he said.
You stared at the floor in silence for a while, Viktor sitting in front of you. "Who were you talking about earlier?" Viktor asked. "What?" "You mentioned the woman. What woman?" He asked. "...The one on the bridge.... the... first person I failed" you muttered. Viktor could tell there was another reason her death stuck with you, though he didn't want to push his luck in finding out who she was. However you seemed to answer that question on your own. "She was my mother."
Suddenly that story had a new gravity to it. It was your mother.... Viktor looked at you. "I feel like I reached maximum potential." He finally said. You looked up. "What?" "I don't like it when people have faith in me because I know I'm going to let them down." He explained. Your gaze softened as he coughed into his handkerchief. You leaned off the wall, putting a hand on his shoulder. "When I look at you Viktor, I see a man who's just getting started." You said. He looked up at you. "I am not giving up on you. Not while there's still hope." You assured. Viktor cracked a small smile. "I'll make a deal with you." Viktor said. You rose a brow. "I'll let you help me if you'll let me help you." He said. You smiled. "Deal."
The next morning Viktor came in later, Jayce being surprised. "...I cannot believe I beat you here." He said. "Doctor's orders." Viktor said, earning a smile from you as you looked at your clipboard. You looked up. "You okay?" He mouthed. You nodded and he turned to his work before the door opened. "Ah! Good you're all here!" Heimerdinger said. "Can we help you professor?" You asked. "Yes actually, we're going on a fieldtrip!" He said. You all looked up. "I'm sorry, what?" You asked. "Fieldtrip! To see temples in Ionia! The ones that of course aren't in a active warzone." He said. You all stared at him. He sighed after a bit of confused silence. "We need chaperones to ensure the students don't do anything stupid." He said. You all exchanged glances. "You will be paid-" "Fieldtrip everybody!"
So there you were on a boat. "This is the weirdest vacation of my life." You said. "Eh, you'll be good at this, you have no problem yelling at me."Viktor said making you stare at him. "You see this?" You asked, holding up a rolled up newspaper. "I will use it." You threatened. "You're proving my point further." He said. You chuckled before seeing two students near each other, too close for comfort. "AYE! THREE FEET AWAY. NOW!" You yelled earning a laugh from Viktor.
Jayce ran over. "This was a terrible idea!" He breathed. "Sea sick? I have patches." You offered. "No! Worse!" He said. You were confused but noticed a group of college girls staring at him. You smirked as did Viktor. "Formed a fanclub?" "YES- WHY DID I AGREE TO THIS!?" He asked. "Hide in your cabin. They can't enter there." Viktor suggested. Jayce snapped his fingers. "That'll work." He said before sprinting off.
Viktor noticed a group of college men looking at you and chuckled. "What?" You asked. "It seems you have a fan club as well." He pointed out. "Oh god no." You grimaced. "Luckily for you, it is your job to follow me around like a lost puppy." He teased. "I do not follow you around like a lost puppy, if anything you're the rescue puppy I'm trying to leash." You said. "I should leave you to the wolves." He said. "But you won't, because you know I'll hunt you down" you said. He chuckled looking over at you. "Oh, did you take your medication yet?" "Yes I did." Viktor's said, rolling his eyes.
Faculty all sat in the dining area watching the students. "I can't believe he dragged you here." You snorted looking at Mel. She gave you a look that could kill and you chuckled. Viktor smiled into his glass and Jayce sat down, out of breath. "What happened to you?" You asked. "So. Many. Girls." He panted. "What?" Heimerdinger asked. "He's obtained a fanclub." You said. "Ah. Is that also the group of young men over there that's been staring at you?" Heimerdinger asked. "That's her fanclub." Viktor said. Heimerdinger let out an "ah" before you sighed. "We need something like a teacher's retreat. Like none of that." "Not a fan of your fanclub?" Viktor teased. You rolled your eyes before noticing a group of students staring at Viktor.
"Oh my god this is the greatest moment of my life." You laughed. "What?" Jayce asked. "Viktor has a group too." You laughed. "What- oh my god." Jayce realized. Viktor rose a brow. "There's men and women in the group, oh my god this is hilarious." You said. "I'm sure they're just people I taught in the past." "Mm. Mhm. Kay." You got up, walking over to their table. Viktor rose a brow as you laughed and nodded at something the students were telling you. You came back over with a smirk. "They were students of yours." "See I told you-" "and they all find you super hot." You said. Viktor's face flushed red and you laughed.
"I have an idea that might help." Heimerdinger said. "Mm?" "Maybe entering a relationship will disperse them." "So what? Get real friendly with one of them?" You asked, Jayce snorting. "No, fake being with each other." Heimerdinger said. "Ah. I mean, I suppose it'll work." Viktor shrugged. "So how do we split? Me and mel, Viktor and Jayce?" You suggested. "I am not paired with you." Mel said. "Oh really? And you were being so lovely I nearly proposed." You said sarcastically. "Plus, why that pairing?" "Because I legitimately thought you were Viktor's boyfriend when I first met you." You shrugged. "Huh. That's actually a first." Jayce said. "I guess that leaves Mel and Jayce and you with me." Viktor said. "You mean we now have to act like a couple on top of me tracking your every move? Someone end me." "May I volunteer for that position-" "you shut it." You halted Viktor. "...oh yes. You can so tell they love each other." Jayce said making Heimerdinger snort.
After dinner, students dispersed into their own activities, your guy's "fanclubs" slowly drifting to their locations near you. Viktor read on a bench with you next to him. Across from the two of you were Mel and Jayce talking on the other side of the ship. "Any more coughing up blood?" "A little. Not as bad." Viktor answered, turning the page. "Mm." You nodded, watching Jayce and Mel. Mel's hand landed on Jayce's thigh as she spoke, him noticing but not moving it. "Any more anxiety issues?" Viktor asked not looking up. "Yeah but that's expected." You shrugged. You noticed the groups beginning to whisper and you sighed. "Viktor, I need the strangest favor" you said. "Mm?" "Put your arm around me." You said. He looked up, confused. "What?" "Could you just please do it so the frat LEAVES?" You asked.
He sighed, moving closer to you and pulled you to him, keeping his arm around you. He noticed the confused look of students watching you both, the college boys all looking at the two of you confused. "They really have nothing better to do." Viktor sighed before going back to his book. You rested your head on his shoulder and sighed again. "You're trying to sell this aren't you?" "I could be dry fucking like Jayce and Mel." You said. Viktor looked up to see his partner making out with Mel. He grimaced. "Ugh" he gagged. You laughed. "Affection is not your strong suit." You said.
"Actually, I am very affectionate, that is just disgusting." Viktor said. You rose a brow, looking at Viktor. "You're affectionate? Mister 'married to his job' is affectionate?" You asked. "Yes. You do realize I've had relationships before, right?" He asked. You dramatically gasped. "No way." You said, him rolling his eyes. "Besides he's just... glued to her, that's not even a good play to go with." Viktor added. You looked at him. "Oh, what now?" He asked. "You're out here giving pointers, I almost want to see what this is like." You laughed. He rolled his eyes.
Viktor closed his book. "You want to know what that is like?" He asked. "I'm curious. Woo me, my good sir." You joked. He rolled his eyes. "Mm. Alright, face me." He said. You faced him, looking at him. "If you're truly trying to, as you put it, 'woo' someone, the goal is to make them feel like their the center of your attention." He said. You snorted. "I cannot believe you are giving me lessons right now." You snorted. "Hush. Now, the good way to do that is eye contact when you're close. Let your eyes wander their face." He said. You were trying not to laugh, smiling. "If they have hair in their face, move it." He said, brushing strands out of your eyes. "Let your eyes wander to their lips." He muttered. You two were close enough you could feel his breath. Had he always smelt like chamomile? Did he even drink chamomile?
You were less giggly now as Viktor's thumb rested on your cheek, cradling your face. You swallowed hard. "What happens after that?" You asked, voice quiet. He looked in your eyes, debating on whether or not he should just leave it there. But there was this odd desire. This need to kiss you. He cleared his throat trying to focus. "You start with a light peck." He mumbled, before pecking your lips. But there was this tension from that build up that made him immediately pull you back after that, him kissing you.
Passionate didn't even begin to describe what the kiss was. Viktor literally left you breathless, staring at you as you pulled away. "And that is how you make out with someone properly." He said before going back to his book. You stared at the deck, your face red. The groups had dispersed for the most part, with you feeling slightly relieved. Mel and Jayce were absent from their spot. You rose a brow before getting up. "I'm going to the cabin." You sighed. "I'll walk with you." Viktor said.
He walked you to your room, not saying a word. When you closed the door you immediately heard knocking. You opened the door to a annoyed looking Viktor. "Take a wild guess where Mel and Jayce are." He said. "Oh god no." You gagged. "Yeeaah, can I stay in here until... that sorts itself out?" Viktor asked. "Absolutely, god you poor thing." You said making him chuckle. You sat on your bed reading, Viktor eventually falling asleep in his chair.
He woke up to the sound of your book falling to the floor, him jumping slightly. Mel was still not there, this proving a point that she was most likely sleeping in there, that or Jayce had an inhuman amount of stamina. You were sleeping and from the looks of it, fell asleep while reading. He got up, avoiding the use of the crutch because of the noise. He knelt down, picking it off the floor and noticing it's title. You were reading about your destination to Ionia, him noticing the little annotations you made. He smiled to himself, marking the page for you. He nearly walked away when he heard a quiet "I'm sorry".
He turned around looking at you. He noticed tears on your face, you seeming like you were upset. He reached out, not really thinking and brushed a tear from your cheek. When your eyes opened he pulled back, clearing his throat. "Viktor?" You muttered. "You looked upset, I just reacted, I'm sorry." He said going to walk away. You grabbed his hand though, looking at him. "Stay"
Mel snuck back into the room the following morning to find you asleep in Viktor's arms. She rose a brow, not realizing she let go of the door, the loud clicking waking you and Viktor both up. Your eyes connected to his golden ones and in a moment of shock you fell onto the floor, landing on top of him. "I AM SO SORRY!" You breathed. He winced, feeling horrible. "Are you okay!? Concussed? Mel, bring me my small flashlight-" "I'm okay Y/n, you're kind of top of me."he pointed out. "Oh my god."
Breakfast came, all of you sitting at the faculty table in silence. "How was everyone's evenings?" Heimerdinger asked. "Good!" "Super!" "Pleasant" "okay" you all replied. Heimerdinger sighed. "Who had intercourse?" He asked. You and Viktor pointed to Jayce and Mel, Jayce raising his hand but Mel forcing it back down. "Were you at least safe?" "Uhhh-" "We are not discussing this. At least I didn't wake up in my doctor's bed." Mel scoffed. "You were fucking in their room dude." You sighed. "There was a whole bed available to him, why did he sleep with you?" Mel asked. "Uh, I have this thing called night terrors." You scoffed. "Sure you do. Hey Jayce, I have night terrors, care to sleep with me?" She asked sarcastically. "She does Mel." Viktor sighed. "Besides it's not like you walked in on us fucking." He added. You and Heimerdinger grimaced. "You-" "yep." Viktor muttered into his coffee cup. "Oh god." Heimerdinger said, alarmed. "It was awful, just skin everywhere" "Who the fuck says that? It's like you never had intercourse before." Jayce said, alarmed. "He most likely hasn't." "I have, Mel. Not that you need that information" Viktor scoffed. "Kay, that answers that question on your medical work." You said.
Viktor looked over. "What?" "Last time I asked you 'were you ever sexually active' you used some creative language to tell me to go screw myself." You mumbled, pulling out your notebook and jotting it down. "You just tote around his information?" Mel asked. "I do in case of emergencies, anything else you care to comment on, dick?" You asked, not looking up. She glared at you and Heimerdinger sighed. "Perhaps the couple's suggestion was a mistake, apparently only one of the couples can control themselves." Heimerdinger muttered. "But they-" "Coming from someone who's known Y/n since she was a child, she does in fact have night terrors, I have no doubt Viktor acted responsibly." Heimerdinger said. Mel clicked her tongue. "Wait, if you don't stay with the boys, where do you stay?" You asked. "My own cabin. Jayce snores." Heimerdinger replied. "I do not!" "You do." Viktor and Mel replied. Mel shot Viktor a look of disgust but said nothing.
Mel got up not long after, you looking over at Viktor. "Did you take your medicine?" You asked. He shook his head and you opened your bag, handing him a pill case. "You keep my medicine on hand?" "In case you forget." You nodded. Viktor chuckled, taking the medication with his coffee. "Oh yeah, not embarrass you but uh... the hell was up with the kiss yesterday?" Jayce asked earning coffee to shoot out of Viktor's nose and you to turn red. You looked over and Viktor coughed. "Oh sweet jesus" you muttered, grabbing a napkin. "It-it wasn't anything. Those-" he cleared his throat. "Those students wouldn't leave us alone." He said. "Right. It was nothing" you muttered. You dabbed his chest and he winced. "Shit, I think you burned yourself." You said. "It's fine- I'll be fine." He said "If we-" "Y/n, I'm okay." Viktor said, holding your hand before you could dab the coffee again. Heimerdinger and Jayce both noticed the new tension between the two.
When the ship docked, you walked out of your cabin with your hair in a pony tail and in a cami. Two things Viktor had never seen on you before. You had scars on you that clearly went down further that rose questions but Viktor didn't comment on it. "Ready to get your hike on?" You asked. "What?" Viktor asked. "...Dude Ionia is mainly mountains." You said. "....This is going to be great. Says the man with the crutch." He said. "I'm sure the paths aren't that narrow."
That ended up being an idiotic thing to say once everyone was strapped with literal hiking equipment. "How is this even going to work- One of my legs barely works?" Viktor asked the guide. "Jayce is paired up with you " Heimerdinger said. You nearly wheezed a the small man being in his harness. "Keep close though doc." Jayce said. "Will do." You nodded. "Has anyone done this before?" The guide asked. You raised your hands and she handed you two pickaxe like things. "Know how to use them?" "Yep" "Get on up there." She said.
Viktor was impressed to see how easily you scaled the side of the mountain, the rest of the students climbing up. Viktor felt uneasy though, being strapped to Jayce's back. As they neared the top, he heard a snap, you looking over before you reached out, gripping Viktor's arm. "I got you." You muttered before yanking him to the ground. You were out of breath, Viktor looking over. "The harness snapped, you would've... fallen." You said. "Oh. Thank you." Viktor nodded. Jayce sighed. "Unfortunately your cane is down there." You said. "I got a walking stick." A student offered. He took it, using it to pull himself up.
You all traveled through the mountains, Viktor looking at you in silence. "I can feel you staring, is there something you need?" You asked, looking at a map. "When have you been hiking like that before?" Viktor asked. "My dad used to take me." You shrugged. He looked over. "He used to be really outdoorsy. Dragged me everywhere with him." You said with a reminiscent smile on your face. Viktor noticed the past tense usage and nodded. "Being out here reminds you of these things." You said. "OW!" A student shrieked. You looked up to see a girl injured on the path.
You closed the map, rushing over. "What happened?" "She rolled her ankle." A student answered. "Alright, someone take my pack and stay with Viktor." You said, shoving your bag off your back. You gave the girl a piggback ride. "So that's your girlfriend?" A student asked, standing next to Viktor. "Uh... yeah." He lied. "Dude you're fuckin lucky." He said. "I know."
When you managed to get to the temple, healers were able to help the girl. You walked back over to Viktor who looked annoyed with the student who took your place as he explained football to him. "Then, the quarterback- "You're back." Viktor said relieved. You chuckled as Viktor motioned for the kid to leave, him leaving the pack on the bench. "That excited to see me?" You teased. "He wouldn't shut up. He kept going for six. Miles." Viktor said, gritting his teeth. You smiled slightly.
"You've been walking for a while. How have you been holding up?" You asked. "I'm alright. Impressing myself honestly." Viktor said. You nodded. "Let me know if anything changes." You said, getting up. Viktor instinctively grasped your hand. "Please stay here." He muttered. You nodded, sitting back down. "I don't want the football kid coming back" he said making you laugh.
When it was announced that you all didn't have to hike back down that day all of you were relieved. You slept in a sleepingbag on the temple floor next to Viktor. Your hand was extended out, Viktor noting it's smallness. He noticed you flinch, seeming upset before he slid his hand into yours. You opened your eyes slightly. "Thank you" you whispered before Viktor pulled you closer.
The next morning, Heimerdinger found you two sleeping and nearly squealed. "This is how I found them the other night." Mel sighed. "Yes but this isn't lust Mel, this is love." Heimerdinger said. You woke up to the sounds of chatter, wondering was as so warm. You realized your face was against cloth and that confused you until you realized the other noise in your ear was a heartbeat. Someone was holding you. And judging by the freckles on the arms it was Viktor.
You slowly eased out of his grasp, leaning up to see Jayce, Mel and a very happy Heimerdinger staring at you. "Viktor. We have company." You said. He grumbled. "Viktor. Wake. Up." You said through gritted teeth. "VIKTOR!" "What woman what do you wan- Hello." Viktor realized. "Cuddle close recently?" Jayce teased. "Shut up, naked man" you shot back making his face go red. Viktor sighed.
When you heard of the communal baths, you immediately were alarmed. You were made even more alarmed when there was an awkward separation of faculty and students. Mel had no trouble being naked but you seemed anxious now more than ever. Viktor was just greatful for the warmth, he didn't even consider the fact that you'd be naked. "Y/n, you're being ridiculous, just drop the towel." Mel sighed. "This is a lot more nerve-wracking to other people, Mel." You sighed. "Woman, I will shove you in." She said before you finally dropped the towel. Viktor noticed the scars full length now. It looked as if you had something dragged across your body like a knife. You immediately submerged yourself in the water, sitting on the edge. Mel of course, sat with Jayce. Viktor moved closer to you.
"Are you alright?" Viktor asked. You shook your head, him moving closer but you moved back. "Please do not look at me." You muttered. It didn't take Viktor long to realize why you were uncomfortable. "You don't like being exposed." He muttered. "Can you blame me?" You muttered. Jayce and Mel soon left and you shook your head. "Those two have no self control." You muttered. "Tell me about it. I have had to hear him talk about Mel this entire trip when I'm not with you." He said making you crack a smile.
You sank lower into the pool and Viktor looked at you. "Can I ask-" "If it's about the scar then yes, I will tell you about it." You muttered. "It was a chemical reaction, despite the fact it looks like something sharp did this to me, it was basically acid." You muttered. Viktor rose a brow. "I had a really stupid lab partner." You added making him smile. "We should really stop those two from-" "Yeah." You nodded.
You got out, Viktor covering his eyes and waited until he knew you were decent to emerge. You accidentally turned around too early seeing everything, you jumping and turning back around. "My bad. I'm just gonna-" you turned back around before heading to the locker rooms. Those thankfully, were separated. You got changed, walking out and Viktor stood waiting. "Shall we cockblock my bestfriend?" "Absolutely"
You know how we're not from this same universe so the same music doesn't apply? Well guess what still exists. Cotton Eyed Joe, which is exactly what played on your cellphone as Jayce and Mel were making out in a separate room. "What the-" "Don't make me get Heimerdinger" you said from behind the door. "Alright! Jesus!"
The two emerged and you had a smirk on your face, Viktor chuckling on a bench. He felt this odd pain though as you bickered with Mel and Jayce, him clutching his chest and coughing harder. That caught your attention. "Viktor? Are you okay?" You asked. He opened his mouth but blood drizzled out, your eyes widening. "Oh my god-" "Get Heimerdinger now, Mel go get my bag." "But-" "NOW!" you yelled both of them rushing off.
Viktor leaned forward, you looking at him. "Stay with me, come on Viktor " you begged, Mel handing you your bag. He coughed. "I-I" "Shhh, don't strain yourself." You mumbled. Heimerdinger ran over, medics following. "Are you a doctor?" "Yes. I'm his doctor." "Do you have his paperwork?" "In my bag." "Come with us." Was the last words Viktor heard.
He woke up in a bed, a white light hitting his eyes. He grunted slightly before seeing you asleep at the edge of the bed, holding his hand. He loved that feeling of his hand in yours. He clenched your hand and you woke up, sighing with relief. "You scared the fuck out of me" you breathed. "I'm sorry." He mumbled. He noticed your shirt with blood on it. "Your fanclub is worried by the way." You mumbled. He chuckled. You looked at him "what... uh... what happened?" "Too much stress on your body." You said. "Am I-" "You're going to be okay. I pestered the other doctors until I found out." You said earning a chuckle. "Where are we?" "The ship." You said. He nodded. "Can you do me a favor?" "Anything." "Lay with me." He said. You looked at him "what?" "Can you just lay with me? Please? I see the football kid staring at me from the window, I'm trying to get him to leave." Viktor said making you laugh.
You did, laying with him. He played with your hair as your head rested on his chest. Students from behind the glass seemed to find that adorable and the door opened. "There is a whole fucking swarm of college students- YOU'RE AWAKE!" Jayce gasped. "Yeah, I noticed." Viktor said. "What is... uh happening here?" Jayce asked. "He asked me to lay here." You said. "Ah. Well you'll be horrified to know the students have a new obsession." Jayce said. "What? Is it football?" You asked earning a laugh from Viktor. "No it's you two." Jayce said. "What?" Both of you asked in unison. "Apparently your couple facade was convincing enough for you to become an 'otp'." Jayce said.
You rolled your eyes. "Do they have anything better to do?" You asked. "Well I mean... you two are adorable together. I mean look at you." Jayce agreed. You sighed. "So... how was your first near death experience?" Jayce asked. To avoid horrifying the man, he bit down the urge of telling him that it wasn't his first near death experience. "Eh" Viktor shrugged making you laugh. "I heard that when you almost die, you see your life flash before your eyes. Is that true?" Jayce asked sitting in a chair. "No." Viktor said. "...Then what did you see?" Jayce asked.
The real answer was you. He saw you smiling, he saw his memories of you making jokes, he saw the ones of you and him. He loved you. This was apparent. "I saw equations." "You're a fucking nerd." You teased making him laugh. Jayce knew he was lying. He saw Viktor's eyes go to you, linger before answering.
When Viktor was finally released, you walked next to him reading off what he can do and what he can't. "As much as it pains me, they say no coffee." You said. "Jesus" "No straining yourself, which means no working ridiculously late and coming to work on three hours of sleep" you said. He sighed. "And no intercourse within the next two weeks. You hear that? You gotta stop with the prostitutes. I know it pains you, but honestly I doubt Vixen is her real name." You said making him laugh. Viktor smiled at you.
You smiled slightly, clearing your throat. "But uh... Basically your fine. Just stop deciding sleep is optional." You said. "Alright. Only if you sleep with me." He shrugged. "Ha. Funny. Now-" "I'm being serious, I've discovered I don't sleep unless you're there." He said. You stared at him. "That's so unprofessional-" "you've attacked me with nasal spray, kissed me, slept with me, have seen me naked. Trust me, I think you're fine." Viktor said. "... Okay fine."
You started staying at his apartment, sleeping over. It got to a point where you had a drawer. Was Viktor thankful you said yes? Yes. Was he trying to ease his way into admitting he loved you? Yes.
A month had passed since the Fieldtrip and Viktor was still having you sleep over. You were comfortable around him. You walked into the apartment. "Okay good news, you can stop taking two of the other medications. Bad news you're on one new one and it tastes horrible." You said. Viktor looked up from his paper. It was a Heimerdinger mandatory lazy day. He literally locked you all out of the lab, saying you all needed a break. "Aren't you supposed to not be working?" He asked. "I'm your live in doctor, I don't stop working." You said. "What?" You asked. "And you call me the workaholic." Viktor sighed.
You seemed to work all day that day and Viktor had known you long enough to know what you were doing. "Why are you trying to distract yourself?" Viktor asked. "What?" You asked. "Why are you trying to distract yourself?" Viktor asked. "I'm not-I don't know what you're talking about." You said. "What is going on with you?" Viktor asked. You tensed up when Viktor moved your hair with his fingers. You pulled back. "Y/n, we agreed we'd be honest with each other." Viktor said. "I..." you tensed up. You sighed. "I love you." You said. Viktor's eyes widened. "And we're in an apartment all day together and it's becoming more difficult to ignore." You mumbled. Viktor looked at you.
"Come here." He said. You looked over, walking near his chair when he pulled you into his lap. You looked at him. "I love you too. And that is something I don't want you to ignore." He said. You looked down. "This is so unprofessional." You mumbled. "So have been the many inappropriate thoughts that have been floating around my mind, but here we are." Viktor said. You looked him in the eyes. "Viktor... I..." your face was even more red. "I want you to kiss me." You muttered. He smiled, sliding his fingers beneath your chin and kissed you.
You found yourself laughing and Viktor pulled back. "I'm so sorry." You snorted. He rose a brow, smiling at your giggly state. "I'm sorry but I will never forget the fact that our first kiss technically was a teaching moment." You said making him laugh. "What other lessons do you have floating around up there in your head?" "Eh I have one on laundry" he said. "Laundry? How the hell do you give a couples lecture on laundry?" You asked. He chuckled. "There is one on baking. Oh there is one on sex, one on proper dinner etiquette-" "Back up, how to you jump from sex to dinner etiquette?" You halted. "There is one on hugging if you'll believe it" he said. "Seriously, you're not even mentioning the sex thing?" "I doubt you'd need lessons on sex Y/n, you're a doctor, you literally had to study the human body." He said.
Your face went a deep red. "Uh..." you gulped. He rose a brow. "No... there's no way you're still... You're still a virgin!?" He asked. You huffed. "I wasn't supposed to be! I had a serious boyfriend for the longest time and we were supposed to do it but I was always busy with my residency or the MCAT or my job would get in the way... after we broke up, I had that chemical accident and I don't like staring at myself in a mirror much less letting someone else see me." You muttered. Viktor looked at you. "Also, how in the world am I not killing your leg right now?" You asked. "Your weight is primarily on my good leg." He said.
You sighed. Viktor caressed the side of your cheek, looking in your eyes. "We don't have to do anything you do not want to do Y/n. Love is not defined by things done physically but by actions of the heart." He said. You smiled, resting your forehead on his. "I love you Viktor." You whispered. "I love you too Y/n." He said. You sighed. "I should not be sitting in your lap though, that has got to be killing you." You said getting up. He chuckled.
You and Viktor were now constantly smiling at one another. Viktor would crack a joke and you'd laugh, smiling at him with utter adoration. Your love for each other was something that practically radiated to anyone around you. You sat on your stool, Viktor sitting in front of you and talking. Mel and Jayce watched the two of you. "Those two are still like that?" Mel asked. "Eh... there's something different about those two. I can't tell what though." Jayce said. "Mm. Will you meet me tonight?" Mel asked. Jayce nodded. "Of course."
You and Viktor went home, Viktor watching you wash dishes. "I can feel you staring." You said. His hands slinked around your waist. "I love you." He said. You smiled, shutting off the water and turned around, kissing him. Viktor pulled you closer, looking in your eyes. He was telling you something, something that required no words once his forehead was on yours. No talking. No kissing. Just a comfortable silence between you two. To many, silence was excruciating. But to the two of you, it alone said a thousand words. Your hand wandered to his cheek, your eyes closing as his hand covered yours. "I love you" you whispered. Viktor kissed your hand. "I love you too." He said.
You looked at him, his golden eyes searching yours. "Viktor... I think.. I think I'm ready now." You said. Viktor rose a brow but nodded slowly before taking your hand. He looked at you. "Do you want me to-" "teach me... please." You whispered. He smiled softly, entering his room.
The room had a new air to it. Usually it was one of comfort that lulled you to sleep. Right now though its air had shifted to one of an electric feeling, one that had your heart racing. You two were focused on each other as he kissed you, this time more intense than the last, his crutch dropping as you neared the bed. "Did that just break-" "I'm an engineer, I'll fix it later." He said making you chuckle. You looked at him, waiting for him to speak again. He smiled, noticing the expectant look as he slid his fingers under your chin, running his thumb over your lips. "Lesson one... Know where your partner loves to be touched." He said softly. You looked in his eyes before he kissed you again, pulling your body close to his.
He kissed your neck, your head tilting back as if to guide him. "That's it darling" he mumbled against your skin. Your breath hitched as he scattered kisses across your collarbone. He reached for the hem of your shirt, you tensing up. He noticed looking at you. "Do you want to continue? We can stop here." He assured. "No-no it's..." you sighed. "I know you've technically seen me naked before but... I... I have so many imperfections and I'm worried that once you see them-" he put hand on your cheek. "Lesson two: You are talking to a man born with imperfections that hurt me to this day... you are not imperfect my darling. You are beautiful. Know that." He said softly. You guided his fingers back to the hem of your shirt and nodded.
He helped you remove your shirt, your scar scattered across your chest. Viktor didn't care. This proved to him you were strong willed and to him that made you even more amazing. He pressed small kisses across your skin as he unclasped your bra. You let out moans as he slid his hands into yours.
He slowly drifted on top of you, his one good knee keeping him hovering over you. You looked into his eyes. "Do you remember what I taught you when we kissed?" He asked. "Make them feel like their the center of your attention?" You asked. He smiled. "I knew you were an A+ student." He said. You smiled, him unbuckling his belt. You assisted him in removing his shirt and he pulled off his pants.
"I know again, we've seen each other naked before but uh... daaammmn" you said making Viktor chuckle. He slid his hand down between your legs, you giving a sharp inhale as he rubbed your clit. You let out moans as Viktor pressed kisses to your neck. "V-viktor" you moaned, him looking into your eyes. "Lesson three: say my name." He told you. Your body naturally reacted to his touch, your hips guiding his flingers over your clit. "V-Viktor I-" your heart pounded in your ears. "I need words darling." He said making you roll your eyes. "Da-damn it" you said making him chuckle. "I need-I ah!" "Mhmm?" "I need y-you." You breathed. Viktor slid down your pants, pulling down your panties with it.
He pressed a kiss to your forehead, you panting, slightly out of breath before you felt him in you. Your breath hitched as your hands drifted to his face, cradling it as he thrusted into you. He pressed a kiss to your palm your breaths filling the night. Viktor let out small grunts here and there, his focus primarily being you. You felt yourself tighten around him "V-Viktor- I'm going to-" he pulled you closer before you felt yourself cum.
You shook ever so slightly, Viktor laying next to you. "Are you alright?" He asked. "Yeah-yeah... I uh... wow." You laughed. Viktor smiled, "glad to know I elicited that reaction." He said. You smiled looking at him. You seemed to debate asking a question. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing uhm.. You didn't strain yourself did you?" You asked. Viktor snorted. "I'm fine Y/n, if anything I'd worry about you." He said. "What? Why?" You asked. "You might not feel it now but you're going to be sore." He said. "Pfft. Sure." "Mhmm. Laugh it up, later you're going to be running into things." Viktor warned.
You should've taken more heed in that warning seeing as when you got up that morning, Viktor woke up to a thud. "Motherfucker!" You winced. Viktor leaned up. "How goes the walking?" He asked, seeing you on the floor. "Aha. Funny." You said sarcastically. "Do you need my cane?" He asked. "The one that potentially is broken? I'm good." You said. He shook his head and you pulled yourself up. "God, what did you do?" "Well, I believe we took part in something referred to as intercourse, absolutely wild." He said earning an eye roll from you. "I love how even when we're together we're still very much sarcastic assholes." You said making him smile.
When you finally got off the floor, you went into work, Viktor fixing his cane by replacing a few screws. You nearly sat down before you winced, muttering curses under your breath. "Y/n? Are you alright?" Jayce asked. "I'm good." You muttered. Viktor smiled to himself you sighing. "Alright, so we've got a consultation tomorrow morning with another doctor, just to make sure your insides aren't going to decide to do what it did on the field trip again- ow." You winced again as you fully sat down. "Mhmm." Viktor nodded. "Are you sure you're okay?" "Yep, just uh... slept weird. So he might recommend some new medications, I don't know. I'm going to try to avoid having you take like fourty different pills in the morning." You said. Viktor nodded. "Jesus." You muttered as you turned back. Viktor walked over, leaning over your shoulder so he could speak in your ear. "Are you alright my love?" He asked. "I'm fine, just sore." You muttered. "Mm. Might've bruised your cervix." He said. You looked over. "And you know this because...?" "I know things. You don't just enjoy me for my looks, remember?" Viktor teased. You sighed and by force of habit, Viktor pressed a kiss to the side of your head, not realizing Jayce saw it.
He sat back at his desk, both of you keeping to yourselves. Jayce said nothing, watching the two of you. "Y/n, do you mind holding something for me" Viktor asked. You got up, shoving down an urge to punch something and walked over. He handed you something small as Viktor tinkered with a smaller object. You looked at the object you were holding noticing it was glass. Viktor looked over, motioning for you to pass it back. You handed it to him and he took it, handing you something else. However it seemed he misjudged the fagility of the vial, seeing as it broke, cutting your hand.
You winced and he immediately put down what he was working on, pulling out a first aid kit from the drawer. "Told you it was a good idea to keep one near you." You muttered, Viktor rolling his eyes. He picked out the glass from the cut, holding your hand and finally put disinfectant on it. You winced, Viktor looking up with a concerned look. "You're doing great sweetheart, just burns." You assured. Viktor nodded, finally applying a bandage to it. "You did good, I'm impressed." You said with a chuckle. Viktor smiled, brushing the hair from your face. "Promise you'll tell me if you're in pain?" "Only if you promise to tell me if something feels off." You said. He kissed your knuckles. "Deal."
Jayce was beginning to realize you guys weren't keeping it a secret from him, you just weren't saying it. Viktor held your hand with a smile and you put a hand on his cheek. "I love you." You said softly. "I love you too dear." Viktor said, Jayce being shocked by the steps that he seemed to have missed in your relationship.
Jayce sat across from Mel, deep in thought. "Is something wrong Jayce?" She asked. "No uh... what do you think of Y/n and Viktor?" He asked. She frowned. "I don't think you're going to like my answer." She said. Still, Jayce expected an answer. "Y/n seems pathetic with the way she hides behind trauma. It's like she uses it as an excuse to be near Viktor." "Viktor is her patient." "Which is also why their relationship is incredibly inappropriate. Why it's encouraged, baffles me." She said. Jayce frowned. "And your opinion on Viktor?" He asked. Mel sighed. "Your food is getting cold-" "Answer the question please." Jayce said. She looked at him. "He's weak. If you were to put him in a leadership position, he'd crack in seconds." She said. "This doesn't have to do with their background, does it?" Jayce asked. Mel was quiet.
Jayce sat back in his chair looking at Mel. "Every student we've had from Zaun has done something wrong or doesn't even complete their time at the academy" "Y/n is a doctor and Viktor is an engineer" Jayce said. "Y/n is having an extremely personal relationship with her patient and Viktor never leaves the lab." Mel said. "So you think the people of Piltover are superior?" Jayce asked. "To a degree." She said sipping on her drink.
"I caused an explosion that took out six blocks." Jayce said. "Yes but-" "Heimerdinger is hesitant with progress." "I'm aware-" "Caitlin has been babied to hell and back by her overbearing parents and has no idea what the rest of the world is like." "I know this Jayce" "The Kiramann's are overbearing parents." "I know" "and you have some sort of superiority complex that makes you think you know everything. Guess what Mel? You don't. Piltover isn't perfect, it's just livable." Jayce said. She looked at Jayce.
"Where is this even coming from?" Mel asked. "Y/n and Viktor are my friends Mel. They mean a lot to me. I know Viktor has been through so much so if he's able to find happiness, then damn it, I say the man needs to go for it." He said. "This is why I didn't want to discuss this-" "We need to Mel if we're in a relationship." Jayce said. Mel sighed. "Jayce, you asked for my opinion, I warned you that you would not like it." "These aren’t just my friends Mel. They are my family. It matters on if you like them." Mel looked at Jayce and sighed. "Can't we just pretend that this never happened?" "The hell is with you just avoiding conflict?" Jayce asked. "I'm not changing my mind." "And I'm not changing mine." Mel said. The two stared at each other.
Jayce came back from lunch and walked in on you and Viktor smiling and laughing. "So then- Dad proceeded to run all the way down the mountain as me and mom watch him run fron squirrels." You said making Viktor laugh. You smiled before noticing Jayce. "How was lunch?" You asked him. "Uh not good." He said. "Was today the day you decided to eat the mysterious gray blob? Dude that was a bad idea, I did that once, threw up for a week." You asked. "No uhm.. me and Mel broke up." He said. You looked at him with a frown. "Oh geez, I'm sorry Jayce" you said. "Don't be. She didn't like you guys, it was a deal breaker." Jayce said. "You just figured out she didn't like us?" Viktor asked. "Yeah? Why?" Jayce asked. "...No reason." Viktor said.
When you all went home, you immediately changed. "Are you okay?" Viktor asked. "I am so sore oh my god." You whined. Viktor let out a "aw" and kissed you. "You know, a bath can help." He said. You shook your head. "Not right now." He sat on the couch and you laid down, your head in his lap. "Are you ready for tomorrow?" You asked. "It's just a consultation, I think I'll be fine" he shrugged. You didn't want to tell him that if he came back better than last time, you'd have to resign as his doctor. You didn't want to upset him.
You looked in his eyes as he read, him looking down. "Is something wrong?" Viktor asked. "Nope. Just admiring." You said making him smile. He kissed your forehead and you smiled. Still, that subtle sadness seemed to pain you inside. You were good at hiding it, but how were you going to do this? You had to go back to Zaun, you had to do this.
You stood in the doctor's office with Viktor as the doctor took a look at his papers. "I can't believe I'm saying this but, Viktor, you're doing fantastic." He said. Viktor took a small breath of relief. "Y/n you did a fantastic job at taking care of him, honestly I'm impressed." He said. "Thank you Zimmer." You said. Viktor could tell you were strangely tense. "Do you two know each other?" Viktor asked. "She did a residency at my hospital." Zimmer said, not looking up from the clipboard. "Ah." Viktor nodded. "From the looks of it, you're doing great. I'm going to add two more medications, but we'll ease you off of the ones for your leg." He said. "Told you." You mumbled making Viktor smile. "Either way, you're good to go, looks like you'll be coming back to Zaun after all." Zimmer said to you. Viktor rose a brow turning to you. "What?" "He doesn't know?" Zimmer asked.
"No... He doesn't." You admitted. "Wait, what is he talking about?" Viktor asked. You swallowed hard. "Let's talk in the hall." You muttered. You both left, Viktor looking at you. "It had been a week and you hated me so I made a deal with Heimerdinger... The moment the doctor said you were better I would go back to helping people in Zaun... I didn't know we'd-" "So you were just going to leave without telling me!?" Viktor asked. "No, I never- Viktor I wanted to tell you but it never seemed like a good time- we were happy I didn't want to ruin that." You said. Viktor sighed, running a hand over his face.
"So this is it? I don't get to see you after this?" Viktor asked. "No- No. I'll visit on weekends, I'll take days off, you will still see me Viktor I swear." You said. Viktor looked at you and then sighed. "This wasn't why you were powering down on helping me in the beginning, was it?" Viktor asked. "No. Viktor... I genuinely want to you succeed. I made the deal because I figured you wanted me gone." You said. Viktor nodded. "We'll... we'll make this work."
That was easier said than done. Once you left, you found yourself drowning in work. The weekend deal became something that happened every now and again. Viktor felt like he was losing you. He wasn't seeing you as much, he was working longer hours, he wasn't with you. Jayce noticed a decline in Viktor's mental state and decided to handle this himself.
You were working in Zaun, helping someone with moving boxes when Jayce cleared his throat. You looked over. "Jayce? What are you doing here?" You asked. "Came to talk to you." Jayce said. "About?" "Viktor." "Is he okay?" You asked. "Well, physically yeah, he's okay. Mentally, not so much." He said. You frowned. "Y/n he needs you. He needs you there with him." He said. You sighed. "Jayce, I'm not needed there." You said. "...funny you should say that."
Viktor sat in his chair, staring at the mechanical parts. Jayce walked in and sat back at his desk. "You hear they got a new doctor in the infirmary?" Jayce asked. "Mm" Viktor muttered. "Maybe you should go meet them, just in case they don't have your information or something." Jayce suggested. "I'm sure they do Jayce." Viktor said, looking at his work. "I mean, I do still have that entire folder on you the size of a novel. I say I'm set." You said making him freeze. He turned around seeing you. "Heimerdinger offered me a position here. I took it." You said. Viktor stood up and looked in your eyes. "What about Zaun?" "I had someone else fill my position. I'll still go there sometimes to check on things but-" he hugged you, you smiling. "I love you Viktor." You said softly. He pulled away looking in your eyes. "I love you Y/n" he said smiling.
"I don't suppose there's a lesson on asking your boyfriend to let you move in with them, is there?" You asked. He chuckled. "Step one: Ask." "Can I just move in already?" You asked. "Step two: Yes." He nodded making you laugh before he kissed you. "On the brightside, the injuries here are less tragic. You know I got a kid in there with the nurse who fucked up his wrist doing a keg stand?" You asked. "How do you-" "Plain stupidity Jayce. Plain stupidity" you told him making Jayce snort. Viktor kissed your face and you smiled. "Doctor Y/n... we got a new one. His idiot friend who tried to jump a-" the nurse snickered. "A bench. And hit a lightpost somehow." She laughed. "....my god these kids are fucking stupid it's almost an art." You said before leaving.
Viktor smiled watching you leave. To him you were his rock. You were his world, the one light he had that kept him from going to a dark place. You were his everything. Viktor went home with you that night with the happiest smile across his face. This love, it was accidental yes. But he loved you. To him you were everything.
Summary: You and Viktor seem to constantly be at each other's throats. Until you ask for the reason he hates you...
Warnings: SMUT. SHIELD YOUR EYES FOR THE TERRIBLE SMUT WRITINGS
You set down the coffee tray with a sigh. "Has he taken a break in the last five hours?" You asked Jayce. "We both know the answer is no, why are we pretending it'll be different?" Jayce asked making you sigh. "Viktor. I brought tea." "I'm fine." He replied. You rolled your eyes. "It's been almost six hours, take a break." "I am fine, leave me be please." "Viktor, just take a break man. You can go back at it once you finished your tea." Jayce suggested. The sounds of tinkering stopped and Viktor got up.
"Oh, of course, he listens to you." You muttered. Jayce shrugged and you sat at your desk. You were the assistant to both Jayce and Viktor. Your relationship to Jayce was a lot better than that of Viktor's. Since day one, Viktor seemed to not like you. You were simply there or in his way. You seemed to be that one thing in his way, that one thing that bothered him and you didn't know why. You assumed it had to do with the fact you told him you had an eidetic memory seeing as that's when the issues seemed to arise.
You worked silently, Viktor noticing your papers. "Are you doing homework?" Viktor asked. "Yes, now go away." You muttered, looking at the textbook. "I'm shocked you honestly do your work. " He muttered under his breath. You looked up and rolled your eyes before returning to your work.
Two more hours passed, Viktor and you being left alone. This was standard procedure for the group. You put a cup on Viktor's desk. "You're still studying." He realized. "Yes." You said flipping the page. He saw the worksheets underneath it. "Is the genius having problems?" He asked. "Yes. Now go away." You huffed. "Ah, and you were so lovely." Viktor said sarcastically. "Yes and you've been sunshine and freaking rainbows." You scoffed. "What was that?" He asked. "You've been a dick since I've met you, is that more clear?" You asked. Viktor was silently thankful Jayce was not there to see the childish bickering between the two of you.
Viktor turned around as if going to ignore you when you stood up. "Did I do something to piss you off? Because it's like day one you just fucking hated my existence and I don't know what I did! Is it my memory? Is it something I do, what is it!?" You asked. "Why do you care!?" "Because Viktor, you might not realize it but I look up to you!" You snapped. Viktor turned around staring at you. "... what?" He asked. "I watched you for the longest time Viktor. You worked so hard and you built your way to success and honestly it impressed me. I look up to you because you're inspiring to people who used to be stuck as the scientist's assistant. Had I known what an ass you were I might've chosen a different role model!" You sighed. You scoffed after a bit of silence. "You won't even look me in the eyes."
Viktor sighed. "I... act the way I do around you because I feel like I am someone who should not be looked up to. Heimerdinger did tell me that I inspired you and while most people are flattered, it scares me. Y/n, I am not perfect. I am a scientist born from disaster." He said. Your gaze softened. "I figured if I put up a front I'd spare you disappointment, I can't look you in the eyes because I know I will cause disappointment no matter what I do. Jayce gets the glory. He always does. I end up with the failures." He said. "I... didn't realize I put that pressure on you." You said. "I can't talk to you without sounding angry. I... it's not intentional I think I'm angry with myself for being so hard on you." He admitted. You stayed silent as Viktor shared his feelings. "When I see you I see me. I see someone who is willing to give up a future as a scientist just to help someone else succeed and it... it breaks me. You are so intelligent Y/n, you deserve more than a life of an assistant. You could change the world if you wanted to." He said. "Viktor, I wanted to be your assistant so you'd teach me to change the world." "Lesson one for starters is that you don't need help doing that, your mind can do that on it's own" he said. You chuckled slightly.
"Lesson two... never underestimate your abilities because you are someone who is very skilled." He said. "Is there a third one Teach?"you asked. Viktor smiled slightly. "Know that I am always going to be honest with you but I do it out of place of admiration." He said. You chuckled. "Almost sounds like..." you shook your head. "Nevermind." "What were you going to say?" He asked. "Nothing, it's just uh... It almost sounded like you were flirting for a second." You said. Viktor gave you a smirk but said nothing else as he left.
Over the course of three days, you were a nervous wreck around Viktor. You were constantly jumping anytime he spoke to you, anytime he was near you, you'd drop things. Jayce noticed it but said nothing, keeping to himself. It was another late night that ended up changing everything.
You worked silently, writing something down. "Y/n, are you leaving soon?" Viktor asked. "Did you want me to?" You asked. "No, simple question is all." He shrugged. You swallowed hard and he rose a brow. "Is something wrong?" He asked. "Uh what? No, nothing is wrong." You said. Viktor noticed your face turning red and he walked over after you went back to your work. You felt his hand on your forehead and you jumped back. "You're warm, Y/n are you alright?" He asked. Your heart pounded in your ears. "I'm fine." You said. "You're flushed, you're warm, are you sure you're not sick?" He asked. "I-I'm fine Viktor trust me." "Are you sure it's not a fever?" "it's not a fever Viktor, it's you!" You finally said.
Viktor blinked a few times. "Did I get you sick?" "Oh my god no! You! You in general, it's like three days ago you flipped some switch in my brain and I can't breathe around you! I keep dropping my things, I keep stuttering, I-I can't think!" "How is this my fault?" "BECAUSE YOU FLIRTED WITH ME!" You yelled. Viktor had a smirk crack onto his face. "You probably think I'm insane." You sighed into your hands as Viktor pulled a chair to him, sitting in front of you. "Well, insane might be a word." He said making you groan.
"Adorably idiotic is the other choice." He teased. You sighed. "Stop that." You halted. "Stop what?" "The flirting. Unless you're going to do something about it, I'm not mentally sound enough to handle shit like that." You said. He rose a brow. "Y/n, I never said I was never going to act on it." He said. You looked at him. "Y/n. I want to act on many thoughts when I see you. I have self control" he said. You looked at him surprised. "So you... do-" "Y/n, what more do you need? A parade float that says in giant bold letters that I'm attracted to you?" He asked. You stared at him in awe. "Seriously. For someone so smart, your logical thinking goes out the window once I flirt with you." Viktor teased. Your mind was now racing.
One thought was clear. "Y/n? Are you alright-" you kissed him, him cradling your face the instant he registered what was going on. You pulled away, looking into his golden eyes. Your face was red, a lot redder than before. "Y/n... I want you to know that I do... I love you." He said softly. Your lips parted. "I want... I want you to be with me, I just... I want to be near you all the time, even when I'm here in the lab and you're with Jayce I still want you. I-I want to see you- hear you, I want... I want so badly to feel you but I don't want to overstep or ruin anything." He said. You looked in his eyes.
"I love you too." You finally admitted. He looked at you, slightly bewildered to your words. He looked at you. "I want to be near you to Viktor. I want to see you, God knows I love to hear you, I'm not sure what feel quite means but I love being around you. And I..." you shook your head with a slight laugh. "As much of a teenage girl I sound, I could never imagine you telling me any of this." You said. He looked at you as he took your hands into his, rolling his chair forward so he was closer to you. You could feel his breath, your eyes wavering to his lips. "Can I show you what I mean when I tell you that I want to feel you?" He asked. "Yes"
His hands slid from yours, sliding to your face as he cradled you. His lips connected with yours, your eyes closing on instinct. It felt borderline electric as you slowly rose, him moving with you before you were backed against the wall. His lips moved to your neck, his hands tracing over your wrists and lifting both them over your head. Your head tilted back, your breathing becoming heavier before you left out a sweet sound that sounded like honey to his ears.
You moaned
He pulled back ever so slightly, your eyes opening slowly to look at him. It was like no words were needed to communicate, you two understood exactly what you wanted, which was each other. He kissed you again, cradling you close and moved the both of you to a desk before he assisted you in removing your shirt, a simplistic red bra hidden underneath your tank top. He chuckled ever so slightly. He kissed your collar bone, carefully sucking to leave marks, your breathing hitching every few seconds before he unclasped your bra.
He removed it, his fingers lightly grazing your skin as if he was touching something fragile. He kissed you, you unbuttoning his shirt. He pulled it off for you, before his kisses trailed down to your breasts once more. He took a nipple into his mouth your eyes closing and again, that sweet sound reached his ears. It was light and airy, almost sounding like music. Your hands ran through his hair, a light grunt from him as you did. He moved back to you, kissing your lips and his hand trailing back. He unbuttoned your pants, pulling away to give a questioning look. Your eyes were fueled with desire as you seemed to nod and pulled your waistband down and kicked off your pants. His fingers traced the waistband of your panties, his eyes watching yours before he slid his hand into them, rubbing light circles on your clit. He watched your expressions carefully as you let out moans, almost as if he was taking into account what you enjoyed him doing. He moved back, moving off of the desk and really examining you. Your panties were also red. He eyed them, looking at you slightly perplexed considering he was aware of your opinion to match things like that. "Is something wrong?" You asked. "No! No... it's just your... your underwear... they're red." He admitted. You chuckled. "I know, I put them on." You said, amused. "You don't like to match things." He also said, recalling a ridiculous conversation he had with you once over socks. Your smile grew. "I knew that red was your favorite color." You admitted. He eyed you, slightly surprised by your answer. ".... so you're saying" "I wore them for you." You said, point blank.
He pressed a passionate kiss to your lips, him unbuttoning his pants. You assisted in shoving them from his waist, it plopping onto the floor. He pulled off his boxers before you felt a small tinge of pain soon replaced with pleasure. He lowered himself, you hugging him and wrapping your legs around him so insertion would be easier. He thrusted, hearing light moans from you. Your voice was practically in his ear as he thrusted harder, you reaching for his hair. Then he heard it. "Oh-oh God Viktor" you breathed, your face now sweating from the intense body heat both of you were producing. Your breaths were like a beautiful echo in the back of his mind.
Viktor kept his pace as he pulled back his torso enough to kiss you. He continued, his left hand intertwined with yours as your right seemed to be gripping the edge of the desk. Pleasure flooded you, his kisses making each second better. You felt your walls hug him, Viktor releasing a moan before he and you came.
You panted looking at him. "I hope Jayce never finds out we... had sex in the lab." You said making Viktor chuckle as he began to get dressed. "You and me both, we just had sex on his desk." He said making you realize you two had moved. "Oh fuck- he's going to kill me if he ever finds out!" You said, Viktor handing you your shirt. "Well if we set everything back on it it'll be fine." Viktor shrugged. You looked at Viktor.
"...Viktor... what's the proper protocol for something like this?" You asked. Viktor looked at you, moving strands of hair out of your eyes. "We can pretend it never happened... or we can try our hand at a relationship. It's up to you." He said softly. You pulled him down to your level, kissing him softly. He smiled slightly as he pulled away. "I like the sound of the second option." You said. He smiled as you put your shirt back on. "What?" You asked. "I love you." He said. You smiled back at him. "I love you too"
Viktor and you picked everything up and tried to make it look somewhat decent outside of its usual chaos. Viktor waited patiently as you seemed to try to perfect the location of Jayce's pen cup "Y/n, I'd love to leave the lab in this century." He teased. You huffed, walking back to Viktor. "Where am I going anyway? Home? Your place? How do I go about this?" You asked. "I was thinking you'd come with me so we could just go to work in the morning together." He shrugged. "I get to see morning Viktor, this'll be fun!" You said. Viktor chuckled as you followed him.
The next morning you and Viktor walked into the lab, Jayce looking around. "Is everything okay?" You asked. "I can't find my notebook, it was on the desk last night." He said. You shot a look to Viktor. "Oh, here it is. It must've fallen." He realized as he kneeled to grab it. He rose brow. "...When did that scratch get there?" He asked, noticing a scuff on his desk. You gulped and Viktor moved past you. "Must've been from that one time we had a piece of metal go flying across the room." Viktor recalled. "Oh yeah! That makes sense." Jayce nodded. You sat at your desk, looking at Viktor who smiled at you.
You took off your jacket, putting it on the back of your chair when Jayce rose a brow. "Did a piranha attack you or something?" Jayce asked. "What do you mean?" You asked. "Your back is like... covered in hickeys dude." Jayce said, before he squinted. "And like... three bite marks." Your face flushed red and Viktor smirked to himself. "Uh..." "I mean, get it I guess but like... dang that's a lot." Jayce said. You sunk down into your chair.
"The one day I wear a tank top so I could help with wiring and this is what happens." You muttered making Viktor smile wider. "So... who is it? Is it that one girl in your class?" Jayce asked. "Uhhhhh well no." You said. "Oh! Is it the guy from the coffee shop?" "No." "Huh. Well that's the only two I'm aware of. Unless you hooked up with Viktor, which I feel like that's impossible." Jayce chuckled. You got up. "I'm getting coffee." You said. Viktor looked at your face which was red with embarrassment. "I really think it's the girl in her class. It's the most logical, they see each other everyday." Jayce said.
"Uh..." "Wait.... wait wait wait" Jayce looked at Viktor and then you. "Jayce, I think you've finally lost it." You laughed nervously. Jayce got closer sniffing you and gasped. "What now?!" You asked. "That is his cologne!" He said. "Why do you know what his cologne smells like?" You asked. Viktor turned around and Jayce pointed to his belt. "YES, THAT IS YOUR BELT!" Jayce said. "If that's Viktor's belt, and you smell like Viktor AND you two came into work together... then that means...." Jayce was piecing things together.
Viktor tinkered with a piece in silence. You came back in and that's when Jayce noticed it. "Wait a minute." He said. You looked over. "...Is that Viktor's belt?" He asked. Viktor froze. You two were both the same waist size. Did you get the belts mixed up this morning? Viktor looked down. Shit.
"Viktor please handle him." You said. "Me and Y/n are together, we got our belts mixed up this morning, in my defense I'm small." Viktor finally said. "AHA! SO YOU DID FUCK!" Jayce said. "Yes we did." Viktor said, handing you your jacket. He nodded for you to go out the door and you walked. "Ha. Knew it." "On your desk." Viktor added as the two of you left.
Summary: you and Viktor were very serious until you moved away for work. But now... You're back.
Warnings: Cheesy as shit.
Viktor was a known hermit. He never seemed to pay any interest in anyone, Jayce trying repeatedly to set him up with someone and failing. Viktor had only one other person in his life Jayce was aware of and that was Seraphine, a healer who typically came by the lab for lunch. Seraphine seemed to be someone who was outgoing which confused Jayce. How in the world was someone like her friends with Viktor?
Today a group of scientists were supposed to hold a conference, Viktor and Jayce being forced to greet them. A few walked out, Jayce shaking their hands and Viktor nodding. Then his eyes locked onto someone familiar. His eyes went wide, him swallowing a lump in his throat. Jayce looked over with a brow raised. "Viktor, are you alright?" Jayce asked. Heimerdinger emerged from behind the two men, rushing through the crowd to a woman. She laughed, shaking his hand when her eyes drifted up to Viktor's.
Both of you seemed to lock into your places seeming like you were stuck. Heimerdinger dragged you over. "Jayce, this is professional engineer Y/n L/n." He introduced. Viktor looked at you up and down. "You changed your hair." He noticed. "Had to cut it uh... have you ever tried to work under a machine with long hair? It's not fun. Or safe." You said. Viktor smiled slightly and Jayce rose a brow. "You two know each other?" Jayce asked. "Uh... Yeah." You said clearing your throat. You knew how private Viktor liked to be, you had no idea how much information viktor wanted to put out there.
"Oh, there's Caitlin, sorry to cut this short." Jayce apologized before leaving. Heimerdinger walked away, greeting another scientist. "Viktor I-" "Y/N!" a voice squealed, a pair of arms hugging you. You blinked before realizing who it was. "Seraphine! You dyed your hair?" You asked. "Uh, yeah, I like blue." She shrugged. You smiled, and Viktor stared silently at you.
The conference was going to last an entire month, this time being used to decide what new inventions needed to be implemented into society and where to start. You made a proposal for a networking company to settle in Piltover, one of the councilors making a backhanded comment that you were from Zaun followed by another backhanded comment on corruption within the system. The system was passed and it was now time for you to work. Of course Heimerdinger was going to have his fun though, telling you that you were to share a lab with Viktor and Jayce.
"Is this the right place?" A girl asked holding a box. "Who are you?" Jayce asked looking up. "My assistant, Sky. Yes we're in the right place." You assured, walking in. Viktor looked up. "...You have an assistant?" He asked. "Yes. I believe you two know each other as well." You said, walking over to an empty desk. "I'm from Zaun. Uhm... I think we met a few times when you were-" "Right. Right I do remember you." He recalled.
"What are you guys doing here?" Jayce asked. "Well we're implementing a computer system here in Piltover for trade. And we have proper resources here to make a better archive system for Ionia." You said. "Ah." "And Heimerdinger moved me here." You added making Viktor roll his eyes but chuckle. "Yes, that makes so much more sense." He said. "It does?" Jayce asked. "He was always pairing us together in school." Viktor said making you grin. "Oh god, do you remember the cryobomb?" "Yes! He swore up and down he'd never let us do chemistry alone ever again." Viktor laughed. Sky smiled excitedly looking at Viktor with more recognition than before. "So this is THAT Viktor, the one we grew up with?" She asked. "Yes uh. Yes we do." You cleared your throat. "Ohhhh my god." Sky said. You shook your head but still smiled. "I promise you, I'm not using any chemistry based components" you teased making Viktor smile.
Jayce was now even more lost, the two of you never officially declaring how you knew each other. So he decided to go to someone who clearly had more to the story. Sky was eating in the lunch hall when he sat in front of her. She jumped, looking at him. "Uh... can I help you?" She asked. "Yes." Jayce nodded. She looked at him more confused. "How do Y/n and Viktor know each other?"Jayce questioned. "Oh, you don't know!?" Sky asked shocked. "No?" "They dated." Sky said. Jayce thought it was a joke at first, laughing but Sky sat there, clearly serious.
"Wai-wait. You're serious? Viktor and Y/n?" Jayce asked. "Yeah, they were serious. Viktor and Y/n were like this power couple on campus. Everyone swore up and down they'd change the world together and then..." Sky seemed to look a bit sad. "She had to leave. She was being backed by a councilor member and they needed her in the Placidium to teach and protect." Sky said. Jayce rose a brow. "How serious were they?" He asked. "He almost went with her but then... you happened." She explained. Jayce blinked. "Me?" "Hextech. Viktor helped you with that breakthrough and she told him to stay." Sky explained. "Oh geez." Jayce recalled many days where Viktor seemed depressed, he had no idea you were the reason why. "She wanted to write but the ongoing feud with Ionia and Noxus there was no ability to communicate." Sky said. "How did you end up with her?" Jayce asked. "Knew her and Viktor as kids. We all grew up together. I was obviously closer to her than I was Viktor but the second she came back I asked to help in whatever way I could. So..."
You worked silently, Viktor looking over occasionally. "How was Ionia?" He asked. You looked up, smiling slightly. "It was beautiful... Dangerous of course but beautiful." You said. He nodded, and you turned back to your work. "I'm glad you're back." He said making you seem relieved. "Really? Because I am so happy to see you." You said making him smile. "I've got a month here and I kept thinking to myself that I just need to make things right between us. Because when I left-" "Y/n, I understand why I had to stay." He assured. "You do?" You asked. "I do. I... I resented it at first I recall us having a fight." "Loud. Loud fighting." You remembered. "But being here made me realize you were right. This is my home. I can't leave, I don't want to leave." Viktor said. You nodded, swallowing hard.
-Eight Years Ago-
The door clicked, Viktor just arriving to the apartment despite the late hour. Still you were at the kitchen table, legs in your chair deep in thought. "You're home late." You observed. Viktor put down his bag. "We had a breakthrough. Y/n we-we did it. We made magic!" He said. You listened to his lengthy explanation of the night's events. "We have to see the council in the morning but- we did it." Viktor said. You nodded with a small smile.
The next morning you sat through a trial where Viktor and Jayce came out with their discoveries. You were happy for Viktor but... It was the moment that made you realize he wasn't going with you.
He and you came home, Viktor noticing your silence the entire day. "What's going on in your beautiful mind darling?" He asked. You tensed up and he rose a brow. "Viktor uhm..." you put a hand on the back of your neck. "I'm so proud of you. I am. I know what it took for you to get to this point and I am so proud." You began. "Well I couldn't have done this without you-" "But you have to stay here." You said. Viktor blinked.
"What?" He asked. "You can't come to Ionia with me." You clarified. "Y/n, we discussed this already" "I know" "We settled on me going with you." "I know but that was before" you said. He looked at you "Before what?" He asked. "Before you discovered something huge Vik. Before you made your dream come true." You said. "So you're upset that I did this?" He asked. "No! No, I'm not upset but Viktor, you can't leave in the middle of you inventing something huge right before it takes off!" You said. Viktor sighed. "Where is this even coming from? We weren't supposed to leave for another year!" He said.
"I'm leaving in a week." You said. He blinked. "What?" He asked. "They moved up the date, something is needed in Ionia to preserve their records so Noxus doesn't destroy it all and-" Viktor let out a bitter laugh. "Damn it Y/n, why haven't you said anything!?" He asked. "Because you've been busy Viktor, you haven't been here for me to tell you!" "So that's what this about." He said. Anger was beginning to creep into your mind. "Viktor I already specified I am not angry or upset with you-"
"We've been together for five fucking years Y/n, we agreed to travel across the world together and now you're saying I can't go with you, excuse me if I think you're lying about not being angry." Viktor scoffed. "I don't want you to miss out on things here Viktor! I don't want you to be in Ionia in danger every other day, I don't want you to resent me for missing out on everything here!" "I couldn't care less about what happens here-" "You say that now but what will happen when that Jayce guy ends up with all the credit for something you helped with!?" "I DON'T CARE!" "YOU WILL!" You snapped.
Viktor pinched the bridge of his nose. "We're raising our voices to each other, we do not need to do this to each other." Viktor said. You nodded closing your eyes. "Y/n please just... let me go with you." He begged. You looked at him with tears falling. "I can't." You whispered. "Do you want me to beg you? I will beg you to let me go with you- I can't do this without you." He said softly. You shook your head. "Viktor, please. I-I... I love you which is why I'm making you stay." You said. He had tears of frustration brimming his eyes. "I won't stop fighting for me to go" "and I won't stop telling you that you are needed here." You said.
That was the answer you lingered on for the night not realizing it was the last you had together. When you woke up and Viktor was already at work, you immediately went to Heimerdinger. You knew that if you didn't leave then, you wouldn't go. So you told him to ship you out then and there. And so he allowed it.
When Viktor got home, Sky was sitting on the couch with a letter. "She wanted me to hand this to you." Sky told him. "I'm... I'm so sorry." She muttered. Viktor was confused but as he read it he felt his heart begin to break.
You had gone. And he had to stay.
-Present-
Jayce walked back in "So when were one of you going to tell me you two dated?" He asked. You looked over. "Uhhh-" "You never asked." Viktor shrugged. "Well, mister 'I don't date' excuse me if I didn't realize you had a serious girlfriend, which how serious were you?"he asked. "Well I mean, we lived together but-" "Oh my god" Jayce gaped. "You- how long!?" Jayce asked. "What?" "How long did you two date!?" Jayce asked. "Five years, give or take." Viktor shrugged. "Wha- You two lived together for FIVE YEARS!?" Jayce asked. "No, Viktor is a lot more of a private person than that, it took us a year for me to even meet his parents." You said. Viktor nodded. "Actually, if I remember correctly you asked me to move in with you the night we met your parents" you said making him nod. "Yes, you kept wondering why I was so nervous." Viktor reminded. "And then finally you took me to the place you and me met and I swore up and down you were going to propose and I was TERRIFIED because I didn't think either of us were ready for that step." You nodded. "Then I handed you a key" "and I moved in." You nodded. Sky smiled slightly.
-Twelve Years Ago-
You stood next to a small stream, looking around you. "Where are we?" You asked. "Oh come now, I know you know where we are." Viktor said with a laugh. You looked at him confused. "No- wait." You halted. Your eyes went wide. "We met here!" You gasped. Viktor smiled, nodding. "You were constantly over here building that little mechanical boat and I was always with Sky. She loved to swim with the other kids and I hated other kids." You recalled making Viktor laugh. You smiled and looked over.
"Viktor, what I'm about to say is harsh but I swear it comes from a place where I love you." You said. Viktor nodded for you to speak. "I can't marry you, not right now, we are not old enough to navigate a marriage." You said. Viktor stared at you before laughing. You looked at him confused. "...Is there like a rodeo clown or a really funny looking guy behind me that I need to know about?" "Y/n, we've had the marriage discussion already, I'm not asking you to marry me." He laughed. Your cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
"Oooh. Aha. Oops." "I'm asking you to move in with me." He corrected. You stared at him in awe as he held up a key. "....Viktor" "You're over all the time already, it's closer to your job, I figured it'd be easier honestly." He said. You smiled. "You sure you have enough room for my books?" You asked. He smiled. "We'll make room for them." He said. You took the key and kissed him, him smiling. "I cannot believe you thought I was proposing" he laughed. "YOU MADE IT SEEM LIKE YOU WERE-" Viktor laughed making you groan but laugh with him.
-Present-
Viktor seemed to be in thought. "Y/n, where are you staying?" He asked. "Oh, a boarding house across town." You answered. "Absolutely not." He halted. "Wha- Sky's apartment is too small, other than a park bench or that desk, I kind of need to stay somewhere." You answered. "You're crashing on the couch, this isn't up for debate." Viktor said. "Viktor-" "As your friend in this moment who has stayed in that boarding house, trust me, I am doing you a favor." Viktor said.
So there you were, standing in the living room. "Nothing has changed here. At all." You said. "Well, I mean the couch is technically new, I had to get a new one after Jayce threw up on the other one." Viktor said walking in behind you. You snorted and he smiled. "Hey... Viktor I wanted to say thanks for... all of this." You said. "That's what friends are for, right?" Viktor asked. You nodded.
You found yourself struggling to sleep, staring at the ceiling in complete silence. This used to be home for you. This used to be the place you'd come back to with a smile on your face. Now this was the place that provided insomnia. You nearly debated on sneaking out and going to the lab, sleeping at your desk. It wasn't until the morning sun creeped through the window that you realized that you didn't sleep.
You were a mess, constantly falling asleep at your desk. Sky rose a brow, seeing you sleeping. "Y/n?" Your head snapped up. "Yes?"you asked. "Did you sleep at all?"she asked. "Uh... no." You admitted. Viktor was talking to Jayce about something, you feeling better knowing he didn't hear you. "I couldn't sleep. Uhm... Viktor has been on my mind lately. And staying there... I just feel weird." You muttered. "Mm..." Sky nodded.
"I didn't sleep it was like I couldn't." Viktor muttered to Jayce as he wrote on the blackboard. "You sure this doesn't have to do with your ex girlfriend who was sleeping on your couch?" Jayce asked. "I don't know I..." Viktor ran a hand over his face. "I want her to feel comfortable, I hate the idea of her being in that boarding house, it's literal hell." Viktor cringed. Jayce had an idea.
"Sky. Come with me to get coffee real quick." He said. She nodded, slipping off with him. The door to the lab closed. "I have an idea." He said. "So do I." Sky said. "Is it the same plan to which we get those two back together?" "Yep." Sky nodded. "Alright. Here's my plan."
You nearly dozed off when you heard something being set in front of you. "Here. You looked tired." Jayce said. You nodded, taking the coffee and drinking it. "So, how was your first night back?" Jayce asked. You chuckled. "Uh well. Didn't sleep. Partied hard with Kevial's study of electronics. Real rave." You said making him laugh. "Can't believe you can actually understand that. I had to read it five times before it started making sense." Jayce said. "Well, I'm an electronics expert, it is my job to understand." You reminded. "Mm. Beautiful and a beautiful mind. Interesting." Jayce flirted before walking away. It took you a few seconds to register the flirting, you looking shocked and slightly confused as to what happened.
Sky set a tea near Viktor. "Jayce said you liked tea." She said. He nodded. "Thank you." He said. "You and I never really talked growing up." She said. "No, we didn't." Viktor nodded as he sipped the tea. "I find it kind of funny all of us went down the same career path. I mean different versions seeing as you're a mechanical engineer and Y/n and I are mechanical engineers." She said. "It is strange, looking back on it. I always thought you'd become a doctor. Or maybe do something in English." He said. "Why's that?" She asked. "You always wrote those poems and you were always patching me and Y/n up" he said. She nodded. "I debated on becoming a doctor. I chose the engineer thing though. I enjoyed it more." She said. Viktor nodded before Sky shot Jayce a look. "C-course it helped that you inspired me to." She added. He blinked a couple of times, looking at her confused. "I inspired you?" "Everything you do inspires me." She said before walking away. Viktor looked confused as Sky left him.
You walked with Viktor in silence on the way home, figuring that you maybe overthought your interaction with Jayce. Then came more flirtatious comments. He seemed to be into you from the looks of it and just when you thought it was only you, Viktor noticed it too.
Sky however, seemed to share that odd sentiment, showing signs of attraction to Viktor. You were baffled by the series of events playing out. How in the hell was this happening.
"Does it seem like Jayce likes me, or am I insane?" You finally asked Viktor. "So you have noticed it." Viktor nodded. "Yeah and Sky seems interested in you, which is even more confusing." You said. "...Oh my god." Viktor realized. "What?" You asked. "You don't see what is going on?" "What's going on?" You asked. "They're doing this to mess with us." Viktor said. "Wha- Seriously?" "Yes! Sky is a lot of things but flirtatious is not one of them" Viktor said. "Yeah, true... so how do we mess with them?" You asked.
Viktor smirked. "Oh I know how."
You walked over to Sky. "Hey, I wanted to talk to you." You said. She looked up. "Is something wrong?" She asked. "No. Uh... I've noticed you with Viktor lately and-" "Oh, I'm so sorry I'll stop if it makes you uncomfortable-" "You two should date." You said. She paused. "What?" Sky asked. "You two should be together. Honestly I think you two would be great together." You said.
Jayce was drinking a glass of water when Viktor walked over. "Jayce I wanted to speak with you." He said. Jayce nodded. "I've noticed you with Y/n lately and uh.."' "Oh, I'm sorry Viktor if it makes you uncomfortable-" "I think you should go for it. I mean, Y/n's great. Really great." Viktor nodded. Jayce stared at him confused. "...So you're fine with this?" "Yes. You have my full support" he said.
"Hey, Jayce, would you like to go to dinner with me tonight?" You asked. Jayce was taken aback, shooting a look to Sky. "One moment please." Jayce said calmly. He stepped out into the hall. "What the fuck is happening?" He asked. "I don't know, I thought your plan would work with them caving and- Oh my god they know!" Sky realized. "What?" He asked. "They know what we're doing, this is them screwing with us!" She said. "Oh hell no! Oh helllllll no! I am not going to be fucked with, I will be the one who fucks with them!" Jayce declared before walking back in.
"Hey, I had an idea! Why not do a double date? Me, you, Skye and and Viktor." Jayce suggested. You nodded. "Alright, sounds good." You nodded. "Great, I will make reservations at Lumiers-" both you and Viktor swapped a look but remained silent. "and we will will meet tonight at 8:00." Jayce said.
You sat at the table next to Jayce sipping a glass of wine, Viktor and Sky sitting across from you. You seemed to be distracted, as did Viktor. "Never eaten here before. It's so pretty" Sky said looking at the dangling lights around her. You and Viktor swapped a look before. "What was that?" Jayce noticed. "What?" Viktor asked. "That look, you did that earlier when I mentioned where we were eating.... You two have been here before, haven't you?" Jayce asked. Your eyes flickered away from the table to a painting.
"We started our relationship here." Viktor admitted.
-Fourteen years ago-
You seemed bored by the conversation the man in front of you was trying to make. You had listened to him graphically describe his job working in a fish factory and you were done with this. "I need to use the restroom." You said. "Oh, alright! I'll be waiting. When you get back, we can discuss the canning process of sardines!" He said. You entered the small hall where a line was waiting for the bathroom, you groaning. You slid to the floor with your back to the wall, putting a hand on your face.
You pulled out your phone, dialing a number before hearing a light buzzing from a phone nearby. Viktor popped out from around the corner making you jump. "Have you been here this entire time!?" You asked as he used his crutch to lower himself to the floor across from you. "Yep." He nodded. You chuckled and rested your head on the wall behind you. "How shitty of a human would I be if I climbed out the window and left him here?" You asked. "Well, you'd miss a interesting lecture on sardine canning." Viktor said making you laugh.
You smiled slightly. "Why do you keep going on these dates anyway?" Viktor asked. You shrugged. "I dunno I... I just want to understand why people seem so obsessed with love. I mean, Sky has been trying to set me up with guys since the start of grad school." You explained. "Yet somehow she thinks fishboy is appropriate for me. Maybe I am a lost cause." You said. Viktor frowned. "Or maybe Sky's taste is just shit? Y/n, anyone would be lucky to have you. You're an amazing woman. You're smart, you're kind, you have this wonderful sense of humor" "you need to just follow me around everyday and give me compliments" you teased. Viktor smiled before hearing a dramatic gasp.
You both looked over to see the fish man dramatically pointing. "I knew it! It was a scam!" He shrieked. Viktor shot you a look and you rolled your eyes. "Alright dude you caught me. Talking to my friend. Spooky." You said sarcastically. The fish man shook his head and you sighed. "This date is officially over, don't call me." "That was the plan." You said making Viktor laugh.
You smiled looking across at Viktor. "Since we're here, do you want anything?" You asked. "No. No I'm just here for you." Viktor said. You looked at Viktor him looking confused. "Y/n? Are you alright?" He asked. "I'm okay uhm... Viktor you and I are upfront with each other." You said. "I'm aware." He nodded. "Which is why I feel comfortable telling you, I think I know why these dates haven't been working." You said. Viktor rose a brow.
"Why?" Viktor asked. "You." You answered. He blinked. "Sorry, what?" "I think I've been subconsciously ruining these dates as a way of holding out for you." You finally admitted. Viktor stared at you. "Or maybe I'm talking out of my ass." You added. Viktor swallowed hard. "Vik? You okay?" You asked. He nodded, sliding over to your side of the wall. "So you're telling me, you like me?" Viktor asked. "I mean, I'm pretty damn sure considering you and I are here and somehow fish man left me." You said. Viktor smiled. "Look if this is too much -" Viktor cut you off, kissing you. Shock coursed through you but when it finally registered what was happening, you smiled.
-Present-
Your heart seemed to have this odd sinking sensation as you sat across from Viktor. You knew this wasn't really a date but you also knew the day that Viktor moved on would be a day where you'd be inconsolable. You also knew it'd have to happen eventually.
The night carried on, the double date ending as you texted Seraphine from under the table asking if you could stay with her. You got an overwhelming "Yes!" Viktor was confused on your abrupt leaving but said nothing.
"So what brings you here?" Seraphine asked. "I think uh... I just.." you struggled to voice your feelings.
You had flashes of memories of you and Viktor, you wearing one of his shirts, you graduating and him smiling big, you sitting across the hall from him after a bad date, the forehead kisses, the overall supportive natured. "Y/n?" Seraphine asked. You felt your face growing damp. "I-I couldn't stay there not- not when I still" Seraphine's eyes widened before she hugged you. "You don't need to say it. It's okay."
Jayce walked in to see you not at your desk. He looked at Sky confused, her shrugging as a response to let him know he had no idea where you'd gone. "You two. Outside. Now." A voice said. Sky looked over to see Seraphine. Both of them walked out. "Look, the idea you had was funny to get those two back together but unfortunately Y/n and Viktor are spiteful idiots who don't realize they still love each other." Seraphine said. "We didn't-" "Y/n goes back in two weeks. Her system is nearly done and there is no point in picking up where they left off when the other isn't staying." Seraphine said.
"Where is Y/n?" "Sleeping, she needs a day to herself." Seraphine answered. "Haven't I seen you on like.. posters or something?" Jayce asked. "Yes, you probably have. Now, my job here is done." Seraphine said.
You stared at a vase of flowers on Seraphine's side table. Right now, your mind was just going back to Viktor. You wanted nothing more to just lay down and hold him for hours but you knew that wasn't a possibility. You had to leave in two weeks. You never dreaded going back to work this much before. Yeah it killed you to leave Viktor but at least there was a job to distract you. Once you finished up here you had to focus on war. That wasn't something you wanted to do. Seraphine walked through the door.
"Hey! You're up!" "Yes." You nodded in thought. "So I got you some extra things for your trip, I know it's two weeks away but still, I figured-" "I don't want to go." You realized. Seraphine rose a brow. "What?" "I don't want to go." You said. "...Oh thank god." Seraphine sighed dropping the bags and she sat next to you. "I'm sorry you did that uhm-" you got up "I will pay you back-" "Girl it's literally just a t-shirt and some sneakers." "Still uhm- I have to go."
Viktor worked silently, trying to ignore the fact you weren't at your desk. What the hell happened last night? Everything was fine. Then you sat in that restaurant and it's like your mental state went out the window. Viktor sighed, putting down his wrench. Jayce looked over. "You good?" He asked. Viktor ran a hand over his face. "I just need air." Viktor said, grabbing his crutch and leaving.
"Dude, I think our plans broke them." Sky said to Jayce. "I think it was the restaurant." Sky sighed. "Did you know about the restaurant?" "No, I didn't know that's how those two ended up together." She admitted. Jayce sighed. "I feel like we should've bowed out the second they caught on." Jayce said. "Well no shit Sherlock, I could've told you tha-" Sky looked behind Jayce and blinked. "Y/n?"
You were relieved. You looked relieved. This was a new emotion Sky had never seen before. You had always been in deep thought, thinking about something but relief was a good look. "We're staying." You said. Sky rose a brow. "What do you mean?" Sky asked, walking over to Jayce. "We're staying here, I'm not going back to Ionia. Another scientist is going, they're taking the archive system with them so they can install it. I'm staying." You said. You looked around. "Where's Viktor?" "He went on a walk, which typically means he went home and is powering down for a bit." Jayce said.
Viktor made a pot of coffee standing at his kitchen counter when he heard a rapid knock on his door. He opened the door to see you. "Y/n? Is everything okay?" He asked. "Yes. Uhm. I'm... can I come in?" You asked. He nodded and you stepped in. "I'm staying." You finally said. "What?" Viktor asked. "Yeah, uhm. Heimerdinger apparently really fought to keep me here and won, you'll never believe what my job is because you're going to laugh" you said. He rose a brow. "I'm by technicality his assistant." You said making him laugh. Viktor smiled.
"Viktor I have something I really want to say to you. And I'm worried it'll upset you or-or you'll say no because it's absolutely wild." You said. Viktor looked at you confused. "I love you. I still love you, in fact I never stopped loving you." You said. Viktor looked at you with a small smile. "Twelve years ago, I was anxious because I thought we were too young for marriage but now we've grown up and I just- I'm letting myself be impulsive FOR ONCE in my life. And I'm going to just" you got on your knee and Viktor stared at you in awe. "Viktor, for the love of fucking god, will you marry me?" You asked. Viktor chuckled, trying to contain happy tears. "Give me one moment." He halted. You nodded. "Take all the time you need," Viktor walked away, disappearing into his room. Your heart was pounding in your ears.
Viktor walked back in, lowering himself to your level with his crutch and stared at you before pulling out a black box. "This was my six year anniversary plan." Viktor said handing it to you. You looked at him and then the box. "Oh my god you came so much better prepared than me" you said earning a laugh before you kissed him. "Oh and to answer you, yes I will" Viktor said pulling away. You laughed and Viktor smiled.
The next morning Jayce and Sky were both feeling guilty as shit when the two of you entered. "Sit down, we need to talk." You said to both of them. Both exchanged looks. "Okay. While we appreciate the idea of what you were trying to do, I think what you did fell under emotional manipulation. We're not too mad because we technically tried to do it back so... Eh." You said. "What happened yesterday? You came in, gave me the news you were staying and then took off." Sky asked. "Sky you're fired." You said. "WHAT!?" "and you're being rehired as my assistant." Viktor said. "Now THAT was emotional manipulation." Jayce said. "Second. I think you'll be glad to know me and Viktor are back together but uh, we're not discussing this for a while, we're busy planning." "Planning? Do we have a new project?" Sky asked. "Uh... sure that's what we'll call it, project plan our wedding." You said. "WAIT WHAT!?" both Sky and Jayce asked.
"You two are- You're OH MY GOD!" Sky squealed hugging you. You laughed and Viktor smiled, you pulling away. "I'm happy for you man" Jayce said to Viktor. "Thank you, question, will you be my best man?" He asked. Jayce nodded with a smile. You kissed Viktor's cheek, him smiling.
The amount of joy you and Viktor had in you practically radiated to anyone near you. Heimerdinger enjoyed seeing the two of you together again. You were finally happy. You felt at peace.

To say having an assistant after being one was weird for Viktor would be an understatement. Heimerdinger had a firm belief the young man needed assistance with his work, seeing as Viktor would seriously neglect to take care of himself. He never seemed to realize how bad his habits were until he'd get sick. The fact Jayce was out on some trip wasn't helping either, the one person who could typically talk the boy into taking a break was gone off in another country to pitch hextech. So, in hopes of stopping the terrible habits, Heimerdinger told the boy to get an assistant.
Viktor, being the stubborn ass he was, declined. This was not a good enough of an answer to the professor and so he sent Viktor an assistant himself.
"Uh... Am I in the right lab?" You asked. "Probably not if you're here." Viktor muttered, tinkering with something. "Is your name Viktor?" You asked. "Yes?" He said confused. "Oh, see I am in the right place." You said. "What are you here for? Delivery? Another one of Jayce's failed set ups?" Viktor asked, still not turning around. "No, actually I am your assistant. Heimerdinger sent me." You said. Viktor dropped his tweezers, finally turning around. "Wha-" and that's when he laid eyes on you.
You stood there holding a book in your hand. "...I don't need an assistant." Viktor said. "Yeah no, I'm not able to be fired by you." You said. Viktor frowned. "I do not need an assistant." He said. "Heimerdinger isn't going to take no for an answer and I am as stubborn as he is, it's why he chose me. Unfortunately I am not going away. Now... I've got this stopwatch. The second, and I mean THE SECOND it hits hour three, you are taking a break." You declared. "And what makes you think I'm going to do that?" Viktor scoffed. "Because, as petty as this sounds, I will get Heimerdinger to bug the ever living shit out of you until you take an hour long break." You declared. Viktor sighed, turning back to his work.
You were quiet, him nearly forgetting you were there until that damn stopwatch beeped. "It's break time." You said. Viktor sighed. "No." "No? Okay, then I'll be back." You said. "Wait." Viktor halted. He turned back around, grabbing his crutch. "I will take a break." He finally sighed. "Good. Less I have to do." You nodded. You went back to reading, Viktor raising a brow as he stood up. "Why did you want to be my assistant?" He asked. "Well, for one Heimerdinger asked me, I wasn't in a position to say no. Two, you actually gave a lecture in one of my classes once." You said. Viktor rose a brow. "I did?" "Yeah, you actually got me to focus. Inspired me to become an engineer myself." You said. "So you're a student?" He asked. "No, graduated. Around the time Hextech was officially created actually." You recalled. "Ah." Viktor nodded. You continued to read.
Viktor at first, absolutely despised having you in the lab. He went to Heimerdinger practically begging him to take you back, but of course Heimerdinger wasn't having it. Viktor began to ignore you for the most part, until you told him to take breaks. He underestimated your ability to annoy him into taking a break only once, not realizing you kept a whistle on a chain and blew it as loud as possible for a minute straight until he caved. Viktor finally learned to just deal.
It wasn't until week five he realized you were useful. He was building a robotic fighting dummy, something that Heimerdinger asked for and was struggling to put certain things together due to it being as awkward angles his unfortunately fragile body wouldn't allow. He sighed, you sitting on your stool and reading. "I don't suppose I could ask you for help with this?" He asked. You looked up. "You're asking me? To do my job? My god I am shocked. Shocked I say." You said sarcastically. Viktor rolled his eyes, handing you a wrench. "Guide me on what you need." You said, taking the wrench and sliding underneath the large surface. "Do you see a bolt near a red wire?" He asked. "Yes" "Turn it right." He said. You did as instructed. "Stick your hand out." He said. You pulled back so that your hand was exposed and he set a pair of tweezers in it. "Find the green wire" he said. "Yep." "Take it and make sure the wire is twisted-" "you did this wrong." You said. He blinked. "Excuse me?" "You did this wrong." You repeated. "I did not-" "the black wire is around the silver screw, that won't work that's making the gate open, this thing won't have power if you do that." You said. "I-" "the green wire belongs there. Let me fix it." You said. "I did not do it-" "would you shut it and hand me a ammeter please so I don't accidentally kill myself?" You hushed. He scoffed but did as asked.
You rewired it, the eyes on the bot flashing blue. Viktor blinked. "Anything happen?" You asked. He wanted so badly to be an ass and say no so you'd struggle, but that would stop his progress so he was honest. "Yes. It powered on." Viktor said. You slid out, a bit of grease on your cheek as you smirked at him. "Told you so."
Viktor discovered that you had a natural talent for electrical engineering. He began to realize how smart you truly were as you helped him various times with projects. You didn't mind getting your hands dirty, you would make sarcastic comments but would help Viktor without asking questions. Just how far you'd go for Viktor was proven the day a project backfired.
He tinkered with a small part that was to go into the bot, him not realizing that another piece was made of a material that was reactive to heat. You heard a light rattle and looked up, noticing the screw near the soldering iron. You frowned, watching it even though Viktor didn't pay it any mind seeing as it was not near him. At least until the metal piece shot forward with the force of something that could've done serious damage to Viktor. However something blocked him from getting hit.
In fact he didn't realize what had happened. He heard a bang and you were standing with your back facing where the metal had fired towards. It wasn't until the metal piece clanged against the floor and you dropped with it that he realized what had happened. "Oh my god- Y/N!" He gasped as you seemed winded. You put your hand up as if to stop him. "I-I'm fine. I'm-I'm okay." You assured. He looked at you concered. "Y-you left the heat s-sensitive piece near a so-soldering iron." You said. Viktor unplugged the iron and turned, you still seeming like the wind had been knocked out of you.
"You didn't have to do that." He muttered, extending his hand to you. You took it, slowly rising. "O-of course I did- OW!" you yelped as you tried to stand up. "Come on." He said "what-where are we going?" You asked. "The infirmary. It's across the hall." "Oh so you typically do stupid shit that gets you injured. Good to know." You said breathlessly. You walked forward, wincing before Viktor's eyes widened. "Y/n, you're bleeding." He said. "O-oh. Lovely." You breathed. Viktor, at least best as he could walked you across to the infirmary.
"Did you get hurt again Viktor?" The nurse asked, not looking up after hearing the sounds of his crutch. "My assistant did." He said making her look up. "Oh god- what happened!?" She gaped. "Metal." You muttered. She frowned seeing the blood slowly coming through your shirt, her removing it. Viktor looked away, you wincing. "Oh jesus that is bruised to hell and back." She said. "Yeah, the pounding pain told me that." You muttered. "The cut isn't deep, it needs antiseptic." She muttered before walking away. You seemed tired by this interaction, not wanting to be there.
"Thank you." Viktor muttered, not turning around. "What?" "Thank you. For... saving me." "It was nothing." You muttered. She came back with antisepti, you sighing. "Need anything?" She asked. "Well, bourbon isn't a reliable answer so I'm going to go with no." You sighed before feeling the stinging. You yelped, Viktor feeling guilty as you did. When the nurse doubled back you nearly screamed, gripping the railing of the bed you were near. "IF YOU HATE ME JUST FUCKING SAY IT!" you breathed, the pain overwhelming your ability to think. The nurse stopped. "Okay- Okay calm down! We're done. We're done. We just need to bandage you. Viktor, I suggest you pay attention because you will probably be the one who helps her do this." The nurse said. He frowned. "But-" "Dude, just do what she says so I can get out of here" you said pleadingly. He slowly turned around, still not looking at you.
"Alright, Viktor come here." The nurse said, holding a bandage. "Y/n, can you remove your bra?" The nurse asked. Viktor seemed to struggle to breathe as you said a small "kay" and took off your bra. "Okay. Now Viktor, pay attention to how I do this, alright?" She said. He nodded and slowly looked towards the nurse's hands, practically hyperfocusing so he could ignore the fact that you were half naked. She finally finished. "Alright. If you have any questions, come to me, let me know if it starts doing anything weird or if it looks infected, alright?" She said. Both of you made sounds of agreement, you putting your shirt back on.
Viktor and you left, you looking relieved the instant you stepped into the hall. "Do you not like the infirmary?" Viktor asked. You tensed up again. You looked down. "When I was a kid, uh... I was sick all the time. I to this day have to be watched by the doctor's on campus everytime I catch so much as a cold. Uhm... " you crossed your arms and seemed nervous. "I was in the hospital all the time... I just... something about being in the hospital or an environment like a hospital makes me think of when I was sick. My heart is the issue, I think. At least that's the one thing I remember hearing when I was kid." You muttered. Viktor was shocked to hear this but nodded.
"I took the job Heimerdinger offered me because my parents micromanage everything I do. This was the first time I got offered a job where they didn't hear about it first. And..." you gave a humorless laugh "for the first time instead of me needing someone, someone needed me." You said. Viktor looked at you. "Since we're being honest... I'm dying." Viktor admitted. You looked over surprised. "I am originally from the undercity and because of that I got exposed to chemicals I shouldn't have when I was a child. It started with muscle deterioration and it's like it worked it's way into my lungs." He explained. You swallowed hard. "I don't take care of myself because I just never saw the point. I... I'm dying. Slowly but surely and it feels like no matter whatI do... Nothing will matter." Viktor said.
Silence fell over the two of you before you did something Viktor did not expect. You hugged him. He blinked a few times. "You may be my unofficial boss, but you're my friend first Viktor. You matter. What you say and what you do, matters." You muttered. He slowly hugged you back, nearly allowing his crutch to fall but you caught it smiling. "Did you just call me your friend?" Viktor asked as you slowly pulled away after a bit. "I don't know what you're talking about." You said making him smile. That was the first time you had ever seen him do that.
Your heart seemed to beat faster seeing this, you smiling back though on the surface appearing to be friendly. Internally you were screaming as you realized how Viktor was not always the stuck up pretentious scientist you had to put up with.
You over the course of the next few days seemed awfully flustered to do portions of your job that required a closeness with Viktor. You weren't sure why your reactions after seeing him smile was so intense compared to before but now you were always stuttering, usually unable to speak fully like before. Partially because Viktor was now comfortable working closer to you. Course, this didn't change the obvious discomfort from when he had to change your bandages. His face would slowly turn red and he'd focus on the bandage with intense focus. You didn't question it though, you now feeling more nervous as he'd have to see you partially naked.
You buttoned your shirt back up after he had changed your bandage when you heard a bag drop. "I'm back!" Said a voice. Viktor looked up. "Jayce!" He said. You turned around, Jayce hugging Viktor before noticing you. "Who's that?" Jayce asked Viktor. "Y/n, my assistant." He said. Jayce gaped. "Did Heimerdinger hold you hostage while I was gone?" Jayce asked. "Well he kind of sent her to me. But it's fine, she's great, you'll like her." Viktor shrugged. "....Wow, I am weirded out by the fact you're so calm that she's your assistant and you are happy you have help." Jayce said. You snorted. "Don't laugh" Viktor said. "Well, the fact your partner can tell you're a stubborn ass speaks wonders for your winning personality Viktor" you said making Viktor roll his eyes and shake his head.
Jayce rose a brow. "So how did it go?" Viktor asked, you sitting on your stool. You read silently as the men talked Viktor referencing some of the things you two dealt with while you were away. Viktor spoke with Jayce with such excitement, you couldn't help but smile as you heard him speak. Jayce seemed to notice it too but said nothing, watching his friend speak with happiness in his voice as he mentioned you.
As the days passed with Jayce back in the lab, he was exposed to what your work ethic looked like, which was sarcatic comments, coffee, and scientific observations. A match seemingly made in heaven as the you and Viktor would make quips back and forth when you spoke. Jayce did pick up on your subtle nervousness when Viktor was close to you but it seemed Viktor never picked up on it. He would work silently and the light beeping of your stopwatch would go off, him sighing but taking a break. When he did, each and every time without fail, Viktor spent his breaks with you, the two of you seeming to be close.
You finally left one night, Viktor packing up to leave as well. "Viktor, can I ask you something?" Jayce asked. "Yes?" "How long have you loved Y/n?" Jayce asked. Viktor paused, looking over. "What?" "You sit with her when we have to go to meetings, you two share inside jokes, you don't mind getting close to her, you laugh around her, you smile around her... Viktor, do you love her?" Jayce asked. "I don't know what you're talking about, she's my friend." Viktor muttered. Jayce squinted. "What?" "Sorry, just trying to see through the bullshit in front of me." Jayce said earning an eye roll from Viktor as he walked out.
The next morning, Viktor walked into an lab with only Jayce in it. "....Where's Y/n?" He asked. Jayce looked up. "Heimerdinger said she was sick this morning." Jayce said. Viktor frowned. "Sick?" He asked. "Sick." Jayce nodded. This seemed to alarm Viktor as he turned back around immediately and made his way to Heimerdinger's office. Heimerdinger looked up. "Oh! Viktor! Good morning." He said. "Y/n, is she alright?" Viktor asked. "Ah, you heard she was sick." Heimerdinger nodded. "Yes, is she fine?" "She's staying home with a family doctor." Heimerdinger said. "Is there a way I can see her?" Heimerdinger rose a brow. "...Yes, I can give you her address." He said. "Thank you." Viktor said relieved.
You were in bed, coughing and Hallie, the family doctor sat on the edge, handing you water and medication. "Here you go" she said softly. "This sucks." You huffed before taking your medication. Hallie chuckled, feeling your forehead. "Well the fever's died down. So that's good. At least you're not hallucinating anymore." Hallie shrugged. "I kept seeing walrus's." You said making her laugh. You smiled, hearing a knock on the door.
Hallie rose a brow but opened it, confused. Your eyes widened and you looked at Viktor. "Uh... who's-" you coughed. Immediate concerned washed over his face as you shivered and Hallie walked back over, sighing as she put the thermometer in your mouth. You seemed sick of the damn thing. "Wath are yo doin here?" You asked. He rose a brow and looked at you. You swatted away the thermometer. "What are you doing here?" You asked again, more clear. "I heard you were sick and I remember what you said to me about what happens when you're sick." Viktor said. "I don't want to get you sick." You said coughing. "Y/n-" "for the love of all that is holy, get the scanner, I cannot take that damn glass thing anymore, I'm tired of it." You huffed. Hallie rolled her eyes and ignored the request, promptly putting the thermometer back in your mouth. She took it out after a bit looking satisfied.
"Is she alright?" He asked Hallie. "She's a lot better than she was this morning. She was out of it this morning. Kept saying someone's name and mentioned walruses. Was the walrus named Viktor or something?" Hallie asked. You chuckled. "No actually, that is Viktor." You said tiredly. Hallie rose a brow. "Boyfriend?" "Boss. Pain in the ass. Best friend. Losing track of all his titles right now" You said, Viktor rolling his eyes but seeming amused. You coughed again groaning. "The coughing is hurting the bruise- Can my immune system not be fucked for five minutes?" You whined. A small smile fell over Viktor.
Over the course of the next few days, you remained sick, slowly recovering. The last night you were sick, Viktor stayed around for seeing as Hallie finally went home after your last dose of medicine. "You don't have to stay you know." You said softly. "I know." He said. "You're missing work." You muttered. "Trust me, Heimerdinger will think it's a miracle" he said making you chuckle. You coughed but didn't seem like you were in pain as you did. "Injury better?" "I mean, cut is still there and it hurts but it's easier to ignore." You said. Viktor nodded. "You going home?" You asked as he got up. "No, I'm grabbing a chair." He said. "Viktor-" "Just... let me do this. Please." He said softly. You nodded and he sat down, you sighing. "I hate this." You grumbled. "I know, you've made that clear in the last five days." Viktor teased. You chuckled. "I wish being sick meant like, a cough at most. But no, it's like 'Oh look, I'm one sneeze closer to death!'" You said making Viktor laugh. You smiled, looking over at him.
"I love it when you laugh." You said looking at him. "Well, you are very funny." He said. "Oh I'm hilarious. I need to try an open mic night, I'd be a hit." You said, clearly loopy from the medicine. Viktor smiled. "But I love it when you do that! Your smile- I love your smile." You said. Viktor rolled his eyes. "You need sleep." He said. "I love being around you, it's so fun, you're a good guy- oh and I love when you get all happy because you've had a breakthrough, it's so cute." You giggled. Viktor couldn't help but smile. "Y'know, I love my job, I love working for you- I also think I love you but I dunno I keep that to myself." You shrugged. Viktor blinked. "What?" "I love working for you!" You said. "No. After that. What?" He asked. "Oh. You mean when I said I love you. Yeah, yeah I love you. I feel like it'd obvious but I dunno. Do you feel tired? I feel tired." You said. Viktor stared at you.
"You love me?" He asked. "Well no shit Sherlock, I mean, you look finneeee as fuuccckkk. And on top of that you get me. I mean, you've got golden eyes- who the hell has golden eyes!? It's like honey, or-or that one shiny rock uhhhh" "gold?" "YEAH! that stuff!" You said. Viktor smiled and you smiled back, slowly closing your eyes.
The next morning you woke up to Viktor being asleep in a chair. You chuckled, yawning, but got out of bed. "Ow" you grunted, feeling the bruise on you. Viktor opened his eyes looking at you. "Shit, I did not mean to wake you" you apologized. "No, you're fine. Need help?" He asked. "Uhm... probably, I need to change my bandage." You said. Viktor nodded getting up. "Do you remember anything from last night?" He asked, wondering if you recalled your love confession. "Was singing involved?" You asked. "Uh no?" He said helping you walk. "Then no. Because I think I got out a joke about an open mic night and just blacked out." You said making Viktor snort. "Wait, did I say something about your eyes?" You recalled.
"Yes, you compared them to shiny rocks." He said, walking you to the bathroom. "Oh. Oh yeah and then I went on a tangent and-" your eyes went wide and you froze. "Y/n-" "Oh no." You realized. "Y/n, you were on medication, you were out of it, we don't have to talk about it" he said. You looked and him and groaned. "Damn it!" You whined. "Really it is fine, we're fine-" "I did not want you finding that out while I was zonked out on pain medication hallucinating a beachtrip with a penguin in a fedora!" You whined making Viktor blink. "What goes on in your mind?" He asked. "A lot- Viktor I am so sorry if made you uncomfortable, I did not mean to-" "You're fine Y/n really-" "Because I will put in a resignation today if you need me to on account of the fact that I'm an idiot-" "No!" Viktor halted. You looked at him concerned and he sighed. "Y/n, you're okay. You are fine. I have many questions, especially on the penguin. We can just pretend it never happened, alright?" He said. You nodded and he took a bandage off of the bathroom counter. "Now... strip, you need to change the bandage." Viktor said making you laugh.
Your relationship with the man certainly changed seeing as both of you became PAINFULLY awkward around each other to a point where Jayce wanted to scream. Two weeks went by and finally he had enough. You had gone for the day and Viktor was packing up. "Hold it." Jayce halted. "What happened between the two of you?" Jayce asked. Viktor frowned. "I...." Viktor set down his bag. "I messed up." He muttered. "How?" "Well, Y/n needed help so I stayed with her the last night she was sick and she was basically high on painkillers and admitted she loved me." He explained. Jayce rose a brow. "And what did you say?" "Well when she was lucid she started freaking out, so to calm her down I said we could ignore it." Jayce facepalmed as Viktor spoke. "Viktor, during this freak out, what did she say?" Jayce asked. "What?" "During her freak out, did she say why she was freaking out?" Jayce asked. "She didn't want me to find out while she hallucinating a beachtrip with a penguin in a fedora." Viktor recalled. Jayce blinked. "I have many questions on that one. But do you not hear that wording though?" Jayce asked. "What do you mean?" Viktor asked. "I mean, do you realize she basically said 'I didn't want you to find out like this'? Meaning she planned on telling you eventually? Meaning you unintentionally rejected her?" Jayce asked. "....Oh no." "Yeah" "no" Viktor groaned. "Let it out buddy" "No no no-" "Feel the burn." Jayce nodded. "How did I not see it- GOD!" Viktor groaned into his hand and Jayce nodded. "I have to tell her." Viktor concluded." "What?" "I have to tell her I love her, she- I need- Bye!" Viktor grabbed his bag and crutch, leaving. "....Wow. he's a fucking idiot." Jayce snorted.
You were sitting on your couch reading when you heard knocking, you looking up. You checked your clock seeing that it was almost midnight, looking through your peephole to see Viktor. You pulled back confused, opening the door. "Viktor, is everything okay?" You asked. "I love you." Viktor said. You blinked. "What-" "You are one of the greatest people I have ever met, you're funny, you're intelligent, you're beautiful, you're kind, you have this charming sarcasm that makes me laugh, and if I am scaring you or making you uncomfortable in any way, please stop me now because the last thing I would want to do is hurt you." Viktor said. You swallowed hard. "I love you. I love your laugh, I love your smile, I love that you use pencils as a way to hold up a bun in your hair, I love the fact that you are smart and you know that, I love that you can admit when you're wrong, I love your sarcasm, I love it when you read because I can always tell when something interesting happens you show it on your face, I love your jokes, I love everything about you." Viktor said. You smiled, looking at him. "Is there anything else?" You asked. "After all of that you want more? I mean, I can talk more but-" you cut him off with a kiss, him dropping his bag and nearly his crutch until you caught it. He smiled against your lips, you pulling away for air eventually. "Do you want to come inside?" You asked quietly. Viktor nodded, you grabbing his bag and taking his hand.
The next morning you woke up to Viktor's arm around you, you smiling to yourself as you rolled over. He lazily opened his eyes smiling instantly the second he saw yours. "Morning" he greeted. "Good morning." You said. Viktor moved strands of hair out of your eyes, looking at you affectionately. "You're beautiful in the morning." He said softly. You snorted. "Uh, sure, if you consider a person who looks like a raccoon nested in her hair attractive MAYBE." You said making him chuckle. "You are beautiful in the morning." He said you rolling your eyes. "Oh my god that's so cheesy." You laughed making him smile. "I mean, my god you're handsome in the mornings, seriously I'm jealous but like- you're cheesy. We're talking cheesy in a cheese factory cheesy. " You teased making him laugh.
You both walked into work and Jayce looked over. "Hi you two, you're later than usual." Jayce noticed. "Uh, yeah, coffee line was long. Here." You said handing Jayce a cup of coffee. He looked at Viktor who was seated at his desk and then to you who was sitting on your stool. He almost felt disappointed in a way, assuming that maybe Viktor opted out of telling you. Then you pulled your hair back, exposing the side of your neck.
To say you got "knocked the fuck out" would've been an understatement of the century. After a shimmer bust gone wrong, you were a person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, gettinf directly hit in the head by shrapnel. You woke up in a unfamiliar area, believing whoever took you most likely was going to hurt you until you leaned up wincing. "Easy- easy. You got a good bit of the damage." A voice said. Your vision lined up on him. The white hair, the face paint, all of it made you confused. "...Who the fuck are you?" "Ekko. The person who saved your ass." He said, pressing an ice pack to your temple. You winced, closing your eyes. "Thank you, Ekko." You mumbled. "What's your name stranger?" He asked looking in your eyes. "Y/n," he smiled slightly. "It's nice to see you alive Y/n."
Jayce:
You had been dragged to a large function to your dismay. The Kiramann's were family friends and unfortunately were fans of throwing parties. Luckily for you they had a daughter who hated these events as much as you did, Caitlin typically dragging you off before you were forced to dance with anyone. She took your hand, slipping into a random room and sighing with relief. "Thank god you got me out of there, that fucking idiot my parents tried to set me up with wouldn't stop talking about trains!" You breathed. "Trains? Oh god, is it Charles? It sounds like-" "It was Charles" you nodded. "Hate that guy." A man said making you jump. "Oh, right you've never met him, Jayce, this is Y/n. Y/n, this is Jayce." Caitlin said. He extended his hand and you shook it, both of you feeling some sort of connection as you looked each other in the eyes. "...Gin?" "Oh please give me all the alcohol you possibly can I am not NEARLY drunk enough for any of this." You begged. "I like this one. They're fun." Jayce said making Caitlin laugh.
Viktor:
This campus was like a maze to you and now you were running late because you were lost. You wandered around the halls, trying to find the classroom you were supposed to be in. "How is this place even numbered- where am I going?" You whined. "I might be able to help with that." A voice said. You looked up, your eyes meeting a golden pair. "Maybe you can. What the hell is a 'heimerdinger' and where is it?" You asked, the brunette man laughing. "Its in here, and it's a professor." He said. "Oh. Oh god that's embarrassing. All day I've been going from store to store looking for this thing, thinking it was required for the class." You said making him chuckle. "How many odd looks?" He asked. "Well I mean-" he gave you a look for an expected answer. "...Like... nine." You finally said making Viktor laugh. "Laugh it up, laugh it up. God I want to fling myself into the sun." You groaned making him chuckle again.
