I am taking the Foundations of Digital photography at cod to learn how to use camera and what functions to use in different situations. I am really excited to learn about photography.  I am borrowing this Nikon D5300 for this semester. I will buy my own camera after I learn how to use it.

This is a photo of a Mallard Lake. I really like this photo because those rocks looks really beautiful between the water and grass land. The best thing about the photograph is the exposer and the water in the background. The water is moving behind the photo and there is a shadow of a bridge on the top right of the image.

I went to Mallard Lake for this landscape assignment. We were suppose to take 100 photos of forest, lakes, and open area. I chose Mallard lake because its quite big place and it has everything which was require for this assignment. Example, there is a beautiful lake, so many trees, and an open grass land. It was very bright day and was little snowing. I went there at afternoon because it was little cloudy, so photographs I took were really good.

One of the main element of a photography in this photograph is the color. We use color in photography to make visual difference, draw attention, and etc. The red tree draws attention in this photo. You can also find the main subject of an image by color. The grass and trees look similar, but the red trees is the only thing that looks separated from others. Another element you can see is value. Value defines the  brightness or darkness of a given color. Values are best understood when visualized as a scale, from dark to light.  It is very bright in this image and i took this photo on a bright sunny day.

One of the formal element in this photograph is shape. The big shape visible is rectangle. You can see the big garbage container and even the wall behind the garbage container looks like a rectangular. Another shape in this picture is the main subject. There is a round shape white container in front of the garbage container. Another element in this photograph is the value. The colors in the photographs are very bright. All things in the photograph looks very bright including the main subject and the background.

This is a photograph of an ordinary white container, but it looks extraordinary. It looks like garbage can has fallen. Also, the leaves look like they are coming out of container like the black ants are walking out of the container. I added some leaves inside the container to make it look creative.

You can make the sewer look very unique by adding things like water bottle, masks, sticks, and papers. Unfortunately, I din’t get a chance to try this different things, but I will definitely try in my next assignment. I like this photo because you can see a lot of details in this image like there are leaves and also, you can see little whats inside the sewer. The main lesson I learned from this experience that you can use the ordinary things which goes unnoticed and make them look totally unique and extraordinary.

For the sewer assignment, we had to take photographs of any sewer and make it look creative. We can add different things on the sewer, so it looks real and also extraordinary. While photographing this assignment, I learned that we can take or use an ordinary things and turned it into totally different and creative. These things goes unnoticed, but you can do a lot with it if you really want to and have an interest doing it. I think I should have added a plastic bottle or a wooden stick in the water to make it look creative.

The camera angle is almost perfect and also it's more focused on the subject and less distraction on the background.

This is a bad photo because it looks little darker and also the angle I took photo from makes it less attractive.
