My friend said nothing negative to prompt this, but she’s telling me about the cheer practice and the baseball practice and everything else she has to do this evening with her kids, and trying to accommodate her husband getting in late, and I felt such gratitude for my empty house lol.

It’s freezing in there. No one drank my last Diet Coke. I don’t have any practices to get to. I’m going to watch whatever I want and eat whatever I want tonight and not have to accommodate anyone else.

Parents are amazing. I do not know how they manage.

Someone said “The slow burn of becoming yourself” and I think that might be one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. It’s such a good reminder of how much it takes, how much character development, how much change, and beauty and courage it takes to reach your soul and I hope no one ever gives up on becoming themselves because it’s a never ending journey that only gets better.
