New year’s Illustrator

It's January 5, and I finally finished this year's MAO New Year's illustrations! This year I painted Maonano playing a Hyakun-issyu. It is a card game enjoyed by many families at New Year's in Japan.The first half of a waka poem composed more than 1,000 years ago is read out loud, and the card with the matching second half is taken🎴

In other words, Mao has been alive since the Heian period, 1000 years ago, so I thought he must be very strong at Hyakunin-issyu, so I drew this illustration🤓

I have only been painting for about two years, but what I think is important when you start painting is to only paint what you like when you want to paint it. If I paint when I'm not in the mood, I sometimes get frustrated because I can't paint what I want. Only when I am not satisfied with the illustrations I draw in this way, I practice drawing and other practices for illustration.

I think it is important to enjoy painting！😆✨

This week’s MAO

I would like to write my impression of this week's MAO. I was happy that Hyakka and Kamon had a lot of time 🔥🌳 Because they had not had any major success in recent chapters. I consider them very dependable for Mao. I think Renji's expression on the cover is cool too. I love Renji, Sasuga and Mao and this makes me very, very happy. It looks like Mao and Nanoka will not play a major role next week, but we hope that Kamon and Hyakka will play their part😆

After an offhand mention about one of her male classmates by the name of Shiraha, Mao realizes that Nanoka just might have something akin to a love life in the Reiwa era. So he decides to sit her down for a not-so-clinical talk wherein he cautions her to pursue romance carefully because - well, what if the boy she fancies kisses her a bit too hard and her lip breaks and he ends up falling victim to her acid blood?? It's important he warns her of these things - as a doctor, he insists.

To which Nanoka counters,

"If you're the one kissing me then there's no problem, right?"
