Cyber-Stem Day 1, part 5
Master post. Previous. Next.
(an au of Cyber-Heaven au by @insomniacrori )
Please enjoy the play I put on with my paper dollies.
Abel: Oh-kay! It's pretty late, so the most normal human thing to do would be to head home and rest for the night.
Abel: Michel did tell me where you live, since I'm your appointed Helper and all that.
Abel: But you should be really careful about sharing your personal data!
Spirach: I am well versen in matters of personal and cybernetic security. My mind has destabilized to a degree where my memory should be of concern.
Abel: Well I have no means of knowing what you do or do not know! Better safe than sorry!
Abel: Speaking of knowing...
Abel: I still got some questions that went unanswered. Questions about you my lovely Spider.
Spirach: Flattery will not make me ignorant to the fact you are now directly affiliated with the Angelicans. The information I'm willing to share is greatly limited for now.
Abel: (Stay polite. Gotta be a gentleman)
Abel: Well... may I ask anyway?
Spirach: You have been adequately informed what to expect out of my answers. I will not be held responsible for any frustrations you experience. You may ask your questions.
Abel: Why do you keep trying to get under the Grid?
Spirach: I am no longer willing to answer that question.
Abel: Why do Angels chase you so often?
Spirach: Escaping forceful acclimation and going under the Grid.
Abel: How did you get through the Barrier?
Spirach: That information is redacted.
Abel: How come you can twist your body in such creepy ways?
Spirach: Anything levitating or attached to spheres has complete freedom of movement.
Abel: Why were behind the Barrier anyway?
Spirach: Topophilia.
Abel: I have no idea what that means.
Abel: You're not exactly easy to talk with.
Spirach: I have been made aware of that fact on multiple occasions
Spirach: How come your strenght exceeds even specialized Angel units?
Abel: (She's attempting to continue the conversation! That's not bad progress for our day one!
Abel: As you know by now, we Helpers were made a bit of time before the Angelicans. We were here even before the first humans!
Abel: Since there was no real reference point, the Developers have overtweaked our strenght by quite a bit!
Abel: The "issue" was inevitably discovered, soon after the first humans arrived.
Abel: But since we were doing our job and doing it well, there was no need to patch it.
Abel: Oh, I was excellent! Successful cases counted in 100s!
Abel: But then... Seth did what he did...
Abel: We Helpers were exiled. Banished
Abel: And, yeah. No need to update unused programs. So the strenght stayed.
Spirach: ... You have been denied your purpouse. Like myself.
Spirach: Do you wish you could serve your purpouse like you used to?
Abel: (Yeah. I do)
Abel: Well.
Abel: Thanks to you being an absolute pain in the angelic backsides, I do get to fullfill my purpouse again.
Abel: Ah! Here we are!
Abel: I know the Angelicans insist on you interacting more with other humans, but it's pretty nice they gave you a house in the woods. Less overwhelming.
Abel: After you.
Abel: Spirach?
Abel: Why is your house completley unmodified?
Spirach: After being made aware of this location I have investigated it once. The surfaces are stable so there is no incentive to remain here. I was unaware that this space can be modified.
Abel: Of course.
Abel: (Yup. That's my assigned crazy lady.)
Abel: Well, it's a bit late for a home makeover so let's at least get you a bed. No time to set up a kitchen so I hope you don't mind skipping supper.
Spirach: The simulation of sustenence is entierly superflous. Lack of supper is a non-issue.
Abel: An entire day of climbing wall, escaping Angels, running like crazy and you're not even hungry?
Spirach: Affirmative. I do not experience hunger or other physiological needs.
Abel: Shit
Abel: Shit indeed. If this is a matter of her outright lacking basic needs it could prove damn difficult to restore her humanity.
Abel: What can I even use as a refrence to make her feel something?
Abel: What do you think?
Abel: Looks pretty cozy no?
Spirach: Disagreed.
Abel: Eh? What's wrong with it? It's a high quality bed!
Spirach: ...
Spirach:
The curtains are insufficent for providing adequate privacy, making them an obsolete obstruction.
The pillows have too many adorments which disrupt the surface. It effectivley nullifies all comfort they could have provided.
The roofing in combination with the curtains crreates a purley ornamental structure. It fails to fulfill its designation of being aesthetically pleasing due to contrasting colours.
The patterns stitched into the surface of the duvet appear too rigid to retain flexibility.
In summary: this bedding has too many gaudy decorations which hinder its capacity to serve its inteded purpouse.
Abel: Have mercy it's just a bed!
Spirach: You have asked waht I find wrong with it.
Abel: Well then! How about you look for something on oyur own.
Abel: (Calling it gaudy! Good! Means she still has personal prefrences. She's not as indiffrent as I feared)
Abel:(Oh-kay, that's concerning)
Abel: (Maybe it's just a minor glitch?)
Spirach: This one is highly likely to provide optimal comfort for sleeping.
Abel: It's rather... boring.
Spirach: Excitment would lower the quality of sleep
Abel: Well, it is your house. Time to make it a home.
Abel: Huh. Looks even softer than in the picture.
Abel: Hmmmmm...
Abel: Ah.
Abel: There! Now I got a cozy spot to keep an eye on you.
Abel: Right! Let's get you to bed!
Abel: (Politley...)
Abel: If I may?
Abel: (... gently. I remember how to do this)
Abel; (Huh... I cannot tell if her skin is soft or not)
Abel: (It's been such a long time since I've led someone to bed without something more happening after.)
Abel: You do need to lie down, dear Spider.
Abel: (I belive humans call this... nostalgia.)
Abel: (Staying patient won't be easy, but I cannot afford to fuck this up.)
Abel: (I can do this. Step by step. She'll be human again)
Abel: (And I... will be... Free.)
Abel: (Aaaaand she lied down like someone has just reset her rigging... My freedom won't be happening soon.)
Abel: Just close your eyes. Stop thinking... and let yourself go unconscious.
Spirach: Following issues must be considered. I am incapable of stopping thinking. This has been a persistant feature even before digitialization. My flow of consciousness has been uninterrupted for over 10 years. It would ve reckless to interrupt it now
Abel: Then start with what you know will not cause issues. Just close your eyes.
Abel: Oh my sweet Code above and below.
Abel: Just close them!
Abel: There! Now you start resolving you sleeping issues.
Abel:... (Nothing to say back?)
Abel: Spirach? Huh.
Abel: (Well ain't this a neat trick.) Heh. (Oddly cute.)
Abel: I will take any win I can with this weirdo.
Abel: And after today of absolute bullshit? I deserve a break.
Abel: A little bit of sleep mode never hurt anyone.
Abel: ᵇᵉᵗ ᵗᵒᵐᵒʳʳᵒʷ… … ⁱˢⁿ'ᵗ ᵍᵒⁿⁿᵃ ᵇᵉ ᵉᵃˢⁱᵉʳʳʳʳʳʳ....
