RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. This is a SFW event! As we cannot verify the ages of every participant we ask that no sexually explicit content be made for this event.
2. Unless you already have someone in mind that wish to work with partners shall be chosen at random. Partners can be artist/writer, artist/artist, or writer/writer. All we ask is that you work together to create something you both are proud of.
3. You and your partner will be provided a random prompt. It is both of your jobs to interpret that prompt however you see fit and create something together. When you are done and post your project please provide you and your partner's name/social media handles, what prompt you received, what ship (if any) is used, what art medium was used, and make sure to use the hashtag: #Avantris Pride Tag Team Event 2026
4. If you wish to change or trade prompts with another team you can but please make sure to inform us about it so that we can keep track of who's doing what. We want everyone to make something different so that we have variety.
5. Feels free to use ANY art or writing medium you'd like! Weather that be fan fiction, comics, animatics, painting, knitting, music, cosplay, or a combination of whatever you and your partner can think of. So long as you both are working together and having fun all forms of art are welcome to this event.
6. ABSOLUTELY NO GEN AI!!! If we find that any participant is using Gen AI for ANYTHING you will be kicked out and banned from this event.
7. All manners of ships and headcanons are accepted with the exclusion of: Adult x Minor, incest, real people that are not the characters of Legends of Avantris, anti-LGBTQ+, zoophillia, racism, xenophobia, or other problematic extreamist ideologies. Other then that please feel free to show off your rarepairs and niche headcanons in your projects.
8. NO IN HOUSE FIGHTING OR BULLYING!!! We are already such a small community and with the sudden influx of new members there can be a lot of tension. Please remember to be kind to one another and that this is all just for fun.
9. You and your partner will have until June 30th to complete and post your projects. Make sure to tag us so that we may reblog them here to archive for all to see. Please have fun and HAPPY PRIDE!!!

As someone who's been a lover of traditional folk music from the British Isles for several decades, one thing I've learned is that "True Love" didn't always mean what you think it means. In the older songs, "true love" is not some mystical quality, some type of connection that is magically better than other Loves. No. A love that is "true" merely means that your Love is "true TO YOU." "True" as in faithful and loyal and trustworthy. A lover who will stand by you and with you no matter what comes. True the way a good sword is True. True the way a good knight is loyal. The contrast is "False Love," which is a lover who betrays you, who cannot be trusted.
"True Love" isn't something you find, it's a vow and a choice that you make, every day, to BE TRUE.
Here's a very small quick Dust to Damnation fic I banged out for LoA Rarepair Months day 1 prompt! (tentatively tagging @randombloops for this bc I know these two are your blorbos, hoping I did them justice well enough!)
Day 1: Drunken Confessions: Quibly Gones/Portia Bella Gones
Quibly confesses his feelings to Portia. After confessing them to the rest of the saloon, that is.
‘…an’ she’s just so gosh darn smart; I betcha she could be runnin’ banks, or, or robbin’ banks from here down to the coast… and, maaan, is she ever purty. I… I think...’
Quibly leans in against the bar, voice going dramatically sotto voce as he slurs over his words.
‘Sheriff… I reckon I’m in love with that woman. Love ‘er more then I’ve ever loved aaanybody.’
Shepherd sighs into the last dregs of his whiskey. ‘I know, Quib, I heard ya the first five times you said it.’
He also heard it the ten other times Quibly’s wandered around and proclaimed his love for Portia Bella to the flock of patrons amassed in the Widow’s Garnet tonight. Or, it could have been fifteen times – after the sixth instance, he stopped counting.
‘She’s jus’, jus’ so wonderful, an’ lovely, and hells, I’d do anythin’ for her. I’d shave ol’ Grinnin’ Jack’s undead behind, jus’ fer a chance to hold her hand.’
‘Here’s a bright idea, Gones.’ The proprietor himself, Abe Solomon, slides up behind the bar where Shep has been trying to enjoy his rare evening off. He fixes himself a glass of brandy, then another whiskey for Shep, before swirling his drink in his hand and fixing Quibly with a look.
‘How’s about instead of tossin’ out these amorous declarations to the various hooples and rabble-rousers in my establishment – you go and tell the woman how you feel?’
Quibly blinks slowly up at him, processing the statement, before his eyes go wide. He glances over at where his wife is currently tearing up the piano with a jaunty rag.
‘You think I oughta? Would she really go for a feller like me?’
‘Fortune favours the bold, Mister Gones, you’ll just have to pluck up your courage and try. Though the wedding band on his finger gives me some confidence.’ He mutters the last part to Shep, who flashes him a rare smile and nudges Quibly’s back.
‘You heard the man, Quibly. Go get ‘er.’
Quibly nods, resolute, and stumbles off his barstool. The two of them watch as teeters slightly but remains upright.
‘Okay. Okay! I’m, I’m gonna tell her, wish me luck!’
They both do, watching the short Fungril man wobble his way to the small stage. Shepherd shakes his head, inclining his fresh drink towards Abe.
‘Thank-you, Mister Solomon. Does he do… this, often?’
‘Oooh yes. Every single time he gets legless, without fail.’

Portia Bella wraps up her last song, wiping the sweat from her cap – no-one can tear up the keys like she can and she knows it, but after an hour straight it really takes it out of a gal.
Looking up, she’s not surprised to see her husband leaning against one side of the piano, watching her play with a goofy smile on his face. He glances away shyly when she spots him, then back to her again.
‘…Hiya.’
Portia rolls her eyes but try as she might, she can’t hide her matching grin.
‘Quibly Gones, yer more plastered than a motel ceiling, aint’cha?’
‘Weeeell… maaaybe.’ He giggles. ‘Got somethin’ I wanted to tell ya, if that’s okay.’
‘It’s always okay,’ She thinks for a moment, then narrows her eyes at him. ‘Unless… how much did ya bet?’
Quibly looks pale for a second but shakes his head. ‘No, no, no, no bettin’ tonight, I promise, Puddin’ Pop. Trus’ me, I learnt my lesson there, ha ha!’
He scratches the back of his head. Looks at her. Keeps looking at her. The goofy smile returns again, soft around the edges of his eyes. She closes the lid of the piano keys and leans against it, crossing her ankles with a smirk.
‘You had somethin’ to tell me, hon?’
‘Did I… oh, oh! Right, um, well…’
He takes a deep breath and leans towards her.
‘I jus’ wanted to tell ya, that. Uhm. You mean a lot to me, Portia, and, and….’
‘Mhmm.’ She runs a finger through the gills of her cap, watching him blush and stutter. He’s too cute, she’s always thought so.
‘And I just wanted ta’ say that… gosh darn it, Portia Bella, I’m in love with you. I love ya more than the stars love the sky, I wanna spend every day with ya-’
‘Quibly, honey,’ Portia laughs, reaching out to take him by the bandana and pull him closer, ‘Did you forget we’re married?’
Quibly looks positively shocked, mouth dropping, before a hint of recognition swims behind his eyes and he nods rapidly.
‘Wait, yer right!!! Holy hell, I gotta be the luckiest feller on the planet!’
She drags him in by the collar, pressing kisses to his face. ‘You drunk fool, Quibly.’ Her drunk fool. He’s certainly not the only lucky one. Quibly smiles like the sun, dropping his own sloppy kisses against her cheek.
'Love ya. Yer my world an’, an’ my angel, an’ my best, best, best friend. Gods, dumplin’, I’d do anythin’ for ya.’
‘Trust me, sugar pie, the feeling's mutual.’
Quibly nods but keeps rambling, much to Portia’s fond amusement.
‘I’d- Portia, honey, I’d slide down the pitwater canal outside the mines, just ta’ bring ya the mornin’ paper.’
She smooches each of the freckles dotting his brow. ‘That so?’
‘Uh-huh. I’d arm-wrestle Mister Gideon, jus’ for a chance ta’ shine yer shoes.’
‘Don’t do that, I like ya with yer hands intact.’
‘I won’t if ya tell me not, but- but- but-, Portia, I’d. I’d skitch a ride on one of ‘em big demon trains in nothin’ but a rusty spittoon, jus’ so you’d let me do a load of laundry for ya.’
She pulls back, eyebrow raised.
‘Colours and whites separated?’
‘O’ course! What kinda man do ya think I am?’
‘The one I love.’
Quibly hugs her, nuzzling into her shoulder. She giggles at the feeling of his mustache tickling the side of her neck. ‘Love you too, Portia. My sugar mongoose.’
‘My Quibby-bear.’
‘The saucy noodle of my soul.’
‘My sunrise.’
‘My, my, my… my sweet chilli Philly cheesesteak.’
‘Hah, that’s one I ain’t heard before!’ She gives him one last squeeze, then pulls back to cup his face in her hands. ‘How’s about we get you some water, and me a lil’ rum, huh?’
