This new feature allows you to get a card that's based on the picture taken from above machine. They can be either Wind, Earth, Fire, and Water depending on its color (For Synaps, Archeron, and Xenogon), while race types for Mephi (Beast, Angel, or Demon).
I used my fursona character to scan for this blue Water Synaps Xeno beast card.
(Yes, you can use a phone pic then put it on the cam if you're too shy of being taken pic by the machine)

when i got physical copies of the manga chapters, i decided i would post about them like i did for the digital version of chapter 3. according to the draft date, i started this on August 26th. but progress was damn slow because Life and i did not finish it in time for Oreca TV! episode 44. most of this post was finished before that episode, so im not bothering to change any theories/speculation i had written down even if they got outdated.
Arakishu was defeated, but his moving castle was apparently rigged to self-destruct when that happened. now the platform Nagi, Xenogon, Alan, and Mephisto were on is shooting up into the sky like some kind of escape pod. As the Forest of Sheltering Wind comes into view, Alan says

finally! an alcohol ive heard of before! Alan and Mephisto offer to help Nagi and Xenogon defeat Soju as thanks for helping them. they all promise to find each other when they land. so Alan and Mephisto are going to be part of the story a little longer in exchange for their arc ending early.
When Nagi is separated from everyone else after their crash landing, he ends up getting chased by Tear Dragon Nakisawame.
The person who saves him is Young Master Iseul, who was in the middle of training in the forest. His name means "dewdrop" in Korean. also dew forms because of condensation, and condensation happens during distillation... hmmmmmm which prominent family is he the young master of, HMMM
Nagi is like thanks for saving me, have you seen my friends? and that gives Iseul this flashback:

Then it turns out some other people are also getting chased by Nakisawame:
Kagura Akane (on the left) and Kagura Aoi (right). i guess their titles are "Kagura" as another way to call them shrine maidens, because kagura is a ritual that shrine maidens do. it kind of sounds like an Anime Last Name though.
Nagi can't bear to leave the girls helpless on their own, so he charges at Nakisawame and so does Iseul.

when he was younger in chapter 4, Nagi got stubborn, had a fight with Granpa Mido, ran away from home, and then almost got himself and Xenogon killed because of his stubborness. it really hurts that Iseul is reminding him of himself back then. dang. honestly i didnt think that emotional part from the chapter 4 flashback would get referenced at this point.

Soju has a pretty cool design but Iseul's Father Quotes are a sign he does not deserve any awards for his parenting. plus i think it's plenty suspicious that Nakisawame was corrupted and rampaging around in the forest while Iseul was also there training at the same time. to me it feels like a secret test of character that Soju made to see if his son can follow his ideals completely and be a perfect extension of himself worthy heir. also Nagi genuinely thought that Iseul was going to die, so the test is unreasonably lethal. i bet Soju was thinking like "My son must know that failure means death. Should he fail, it will be proof he was too pathetic to succeed me." now i feel bad for Iseul. he wants his dad's approval so bad but he doesnt know that in Soju's eyes, hes just a disposable pawn. i cant wait for Nagi use to the power of friendship to beat Soju up and for Iseul to learn to break free from his dad's control.
they actually made an explanation of chapter 2's story!?!?! the thumbnail also mentions the thing all Oreca battlers want the answer to: "The Connection Between Infinite Musketeer Dartan and Wanderer Charles...". they know what we want lol

the colors of the lines seem coded according to the types of the relationships, but there is no legend/key for the chart saying which colors mean which. i think red means they hate each other and blue means they like each other, though.
the parts of the background that are paler sort the characters into factions. the triangle is "Travelers", the rectangle is "Arakishu's Army", and anyone not in a shape is one of the "Inhabitants of the Desert".
i'll kind of go around from the left side to the right typing this out. each pair only has one line between them so two of these i cant really tell whos saying what. sorry.

ARINA: Demon King Arakishu is the one trying to conquer this desert!! Arakishu is incredibly good with robots and skilled at tinkering with machines!! But he's using those talents to keep the most precious thing in the desert, water, all for himself!
SUNTA: Ohh, right! Water was important here!!
ARINA: Mhm, mhm. And you know, the one trying to resist this control is Traveler Alan!! Together with Traveler Charles, who he met in a Rukh nest, Alan is trying to do something and take the water back from Arakishu, but they get captured instead~!!
SUNTA: So that's why he got caught~!
ARINA: Charles and Alan work together to escape from the fortress, but due to Arakishu's pursuit, they get lose sight of each other in the middle of a sandstorm!!
SUNTA: Oh, no way! That's sad!
ARINA: Mm. In order to find Charles who disappeared, Alan goes on a journey in search of new power! Then he finds a hidden treasure, unseals Mephisto, and forms a contract with them! SUNTA: Wait a moment. I don't get it anymore. Um, Charles wasn't actually Charles and he was Dartan?
ARINA: Well, both are true, but Dartan has the ability to move through time and space! In other words, he's a time leaper!! Even if he makes friends in the current dimension, a day will come where they'll have to part ways. So Dartan started to disguise his real identity and call himself Charles!
SUNTA: A time leaper... He's Charles and he's also Dartan... I don't really get it, but... It's really cooool!! You know, what if I'm Sunta and kind of another existence?
ARINA: What are you saying? Sunta-kun, you're not a time leaper!

so Dartan pretended to be Charles because if people don't know who he really is, it'll hurt less when he leaves. man... and he seems surprised that Anvil has an Old Gun that Anvil drops once he's defeated. actually, i kind of wish that they explained why he even has that.
based on Accela's thoughts on Arakishu in the relationship chart, when she said "I don’t regret… choosing…… this path………." in her defeat quote, i think she meant she doesn't regret following a man she respects even if it ends badly for her. and again, assuming blue means mutual like, Accela and Brake get along despite criticizing each other a little. something like friendly coworker arguments, i guess.
im not really familiar with this part of OB1 lore, but most Oreca robots and Franken were created by the same guy, Kais, right? kind of sad that they all still miss him. also since i had to count out the number of dots between ハカ and イin Prototype code IV's quote to retype it myself, it's 39. what if the time it takes for me to mash the period button 39 times is the same amount of time IV paused while saying ハカイ lol
