Hey I’m back!! School’s been kicking my ass, but I’ve been slowly getting back to world building my giant/tiny story!!

So, I’m making a couple of ocs who are living toys—think Toy Story. And my main character is a borrower…

Okay so…imagine my surprise finally finding the difference between 4 inches and 13 inches

Size difference between tinies is rare but fucking precious. Like what’s you mean this may be the difference between Woody from Toy Story and Arrietty???

Living Toy: “Oh, good lord, that child was playing a bit too rough toda— GOOD HEAVENS?!”

Alright I know it’s not even September yet but I do not care.

There’s gonna be a g/t hhn haunted house.

It’s called Doll Let’s Play Dead, and I’m hyped. Probably never gonna see it but I like the vibes.

It follows you being shrunk down to doll size and roaming through a psychotic kid’s attic/room. The set is designed to make you feel small and overwhelmed, loving it!

Do you think that if gt was real there would be stereotypes??

Like all giants thinking that tinies are weak and scardy cats saying stuff like "I know you tinies can't handle that" etc and tinies constantly being babied

Or tinies thinking all giants are dumb or agresive brutes. Giant can't be upset or else they would imeaditly be seen as angry monsters or Giants being held back in education because their "to dumb"

Actually had a discussion similar to this with some non-gt friends. It was pretty much agreed that there would be a bunch of prejudice against tinies and giants.

Looking at several movies with g/t, we do get this trope. In the classic Borrowers movie, Arrietty’s father outwardly talks about how untrustworthy humans were and Arrietty herself cowers at her first meeting with the human boy (I forgot his name). In the 2011 movie, there is a scene where a human character actively attacks the borrower characters, even knowing about them living in her floors, and this scissor attack includes remarks like “dirty thieves” or “pests”

These were just a few examples but there could be more that I may have forgotten. This is a great cause for angst or conflict in g/t stories, maybe characters who have these ideals may change the more they spend with the ones they judge, like in both Borrowers movies :)

Hot Take, but I’ve hated the trope in gt works where a tiny is served a drink in a thimble or bottle cap.

I can kinda get bottle caps, and they can be used as dishes. But to me, they’re too wide to be a cup. It’d be like drinking water from a bowl. And I feel like glass bottle caps would be the worst. The jagged edge would be hard to drink from, not to mention the metal might be heavy.

I feel like thimbles are the worst of the two. Whenever I imagine a thimble, I just see the holes. Holes + Water don’t equal a full glass. I could be wrong as I have never used a thimble in my life, but still, the holes in a thimble throw me off whenever I read a giant giving a tiny a thimble.
