PERPETUUM CALENDAR / 2017 By Alex YONOH
Inspired by the architecture of the industrial boom, Perpetuum’s shape is a nod to the “sawtooth” roofs of factories built in the 1920s and 30s. The calendar’s 3D printed fabric base emulates the era’s move towards the synthetic, gracefully guiding an antiquated material into the 21st century.
When thinking about minimal design, what is absolutely necessary, we remove design elements not required to tell the month and day... I thought this was a fascinating approach to the bare essentials required to to the job!
As we begin to take away and take away more of the elements on the screen to improve the user experience we approach a degree of minimalism that accentuates the end user experience. With our attention spans limiting, a seemingly microsound bite world surrounds us.
