RIP Kagney Linn Karter

I haven't made a post here in years, but I just heard the news about Kagney Linn Karter. She was gorgeous and the subject of many gifs I made for this blog. It's a gut punch to hear she took her own life.

I remember bonding over her with @alyx_nsfw. I don't know where you are, Alex, but I'm thinking of you today. I took great pleasure in making Kagney gifs with you as my target audience. I'm sure you're saddened by the news as well.

Kagney was incredibly hot and talented, and she seemed to have a genuinely sweet personality. It sounded like she was doing okay in life recently, and her friends are devastated. How tragic. 😢

Also... I need to say how shitty Tumblr still is. I tried to post an innocent gif of Kagney kissing the camera, and Tumblr immediately removed the image saying it "violated community guidelines." I hadn't even added text to the post yet, and there was nothing indecent about the image.

Soon after, I scrolled through Tumblr a bit and found plenty of full, hardcore porn. So good job, guys. You're maintaining a helluva website here. 🙄

What are NSFW Blogs To Do?

I started this blog in early 2016, worked hard on it for over a year, then simply couldn’t keep up with it. So I let it sit unattended, yet it has still gathered followers and lots of attention.

I had a blast when I was able to work on this, and I can only imagine the disappointment all of the regular users feel after Tumblr’s bullshit decision to ban all NSFW content. Maybe it’s because I’ve been disconnected from this for a while, but I’m more optimistic than most about this situation. Because:

1. Capitalism will win out. Tumblr will surely suffer for this decision and another service will come along that will allow us to share sexual content.

2. Your NSFW posts aren’t being completely deleted -- they’re being converted to “private posts” so only you can view them. Certainly, it defeats the purpose of a social network when you can’t share anything, but at least you’re not totally losing all of your hard work.

3. Your blogs aren’t being deactivated (unless, I assume, you continue to post NSFW after Dec. 17). So you can still talk to blogs you’ve made friends with, and you can still share things privately with them. I, for one, have had plenty of lovely (and arousing) conversations with followers, and I can go back and read them as long as this blog exists.

I’m well aware these aren’t solutions and we’re still being stripped of something we may never get back. I’m just trying to help others see the silver lining.

As far as alternatives, so far there’s nothing like Tumblr that allows you to post & share porn in such a streamlined way. Personally, I’ve found PornHub and Reddit to have similar (but not equal) features. Both allow you to post your own content and communicate with others. Reddit has a mobile app but neither the desktop or mobile versions are as user friendly as Tumblr, in my opinion. PornHub doesn’t have a mobile app but has tons of porn, obviously.

No matter what, these are dark days for those of us who enjoy sexual social networking. Hopefully we don’t have to wait long before a new service is available.

Porn Video Tumblr Violation

I recently received three emails from Tumblr scolding me for posting "sexually explicit” videos. I uploaded a handful of videos several months ago, and for whatever reason they decided now to remove some of them and warn me.

If you have uploaded porn videos to your blog, be warned. Even though there are millions of porn videos floating around on Tumblr, they could single you out. I only had five or six videos on my blog, yet they found three of them and removed them. I have since deleted the rest myself to be safe.

I’m sure my fellow porn bloggers don’t want to find out the hard way that they do actually enforce their porn video rule, despite how it seems.
