Speaking of, roast the G36
H&K’s new hot mess of burning tar that explains why everyone’s suddenly getting HK 416′s. Because the G36 has been in more controversies than a shitty Youtube star and like said stars, it’ll melt under intense pressure. It’s a gun that had one goddamn job and it still failed at doing it and now is sadboy sulking into the same pit that the French chucked the FAMAS into. At least the FAMAS had a better version that fixed all of its issues.
The G36 was born as a rib from the early 1990′s reunification of Germany and the fall of the Soviet bloc. The G11 was way too advanced and wacky and had become a KPz 70 style money pit and the government declined, even worse was that H&K halted 5.56 weapons development at the same time thinking the G11 would win, and were left with the 30 year old H&K 33 and the weird H&K G41. So they grabbed the AR-18, stuck it to polymer and let it run free.
Yeah that went well didn’t it. The G36′s reputation hit a brick wall in 2012 when Bundeswehr reports came in from Afghanistan, mostly in relation to the G36 losing zero when overheating causing the guns to struggle to hit targets at 100 metres. At first H&K blamed 5.56 ammo for a thinner copper jacket on the bullets, but an investigation found that the issue was the free floated barrel would lose zero on overheating, with a hit rate of a whopping 7% at around 86 degrees Fahrenheit, which has begun a maximum amount of backpedaling and work to fix these. The Bundeswehr broke out G3′s for Afghanistan duties, Spain intends to reopen CETME to figure out a new version and Steyr, being Steyr, flashed off their own fancy version recently.
Oh and a bunch of H&K employees were arrested for trying to smuggle these illegally into Mexico. Fun times. How does it shoot? Like an AR-18 that loses zero.
HK shoulda just stuck with the HK33
a hit rate of a whopping 7% at around 86 degrees Fahrenheit
good grief, did they even shoot the gun before they sold it?
86 can't be right. It can't be. Right?
