I only write about things that happen around me and recently one of my friends has become pregnant.
Now I know what you all are thinking…congratulations..
Yeah, sure apparently in this day and age baby booming is back in the swing of things but being that we are still young. You know our early 20’s, fresh out of college and just starting to get our lives together.
Now with that being said I’m not sure if there are some people out there that have some sort of plan for their lives but if you like me and most of my friends we plan to have children when we are married, or at least in that point of life we were are able to take care of the child that we created.
So I go to say this that during this baby booming time that we think are we really able to give the children that we are bringing into this world the kind of life that we want for them. I mean when I think of my children I want to be able to give my kids the world, kind of how my parents made sure I had what I need and things that I wanted. I also think hey I strive to be like my parents and better. Personally I wouldn’t dare be selfish enough at this point in my life to have a child. Now I know what your thinking an I’m pro abortion because I do believe that it’s sad that I would end a new life but if it came down to it I would (please do not attack me for that). All honesty it would be very emotional but i wouldn’t dare be selfish like that I mean I can take care of myself but mind you at this moment in my life I can not pay for diapers, formula, clothes, doctors visits, food, education, etc.
I know your thinking that people do it all the time, so let me go back to something. My parents made sure I had what I needed, plus what I wanted, and they made sure I had the best thing possible for me and I would like to be just like them and better if I can. At this moment in my life I can not do that and I’m sure there are people out there that think they can or they can not. I wouldn’t know but I assume it stressful, I mean yes you love that little baby and would do anything for it, and that’s amazing but be realistic.
Now let’s say you have the best support system you could ask for do you think it is fair to ask you parents, your siblings, your friends or whatever to help you take care of this child? Do you think it’s ok that you made a decision that resulted in this baby but you need help to raise it? I don’t think that is I think that is extremely selfish (and I’m not talking about everyone I just saying for those that have issues with bills and things now).
So coming back to what prompted this, I love my friends some of them I think are family so I will tell them what I think it’s apart of who I am. For someone of my friends I feel like situations is not ideal at this moment. And honestly there are other options like adoption, which again some people feel is wrong. What I want people to take into consideration is that adoption can be wonderful, it can be a way for this child to have that life that you wanted for them, and if you love them like some of you claim then this is the time to get your ducks in a row and really sit down and think about the things that you are doing. Please don’t be selfish and make sure that you are ready for the huge responsibility of making a life, as well as raising a child.
