Analying Pick Up the Phone by Young thug and Travis Scott feat. Quavo
Young thug and Travis Scott had this song on both of their albums call “No, my name is Jeffrey” and “Birds and the Bees in the trap Sing McKnight”. This was the big single for both albums so it better be good.
To start off you get to hear this nice aquatic beat while young thug is making random noises that he might consider singing. That leads off to the chorus which for me is my favorite part of the song, because you hear the beat in that part the most. Not much notable in the chorus though it is just the typical rap stuff like having sex with your girlfriend for no reason and then leaving to go preform and do drugs then call your girlfriend again. I thought that they didn’t want any emotional attachment to these girls He literally says “I call you hoe just to fuck her and show up” Travis Scott you are not making sense right now. Young thug’s verse is first, but before that we get the bridge and it is ironic because it comes right after that chorus about fucking a girl and leaving. He is saying that he will never cheat on this girl when he has two girls feeling him up on the bed in the video. In his verse there is almost nothing notable he talks about needing a lot of money for his kids after he just said that he will blow a bag on some girl.
Lets just go to Quavo’s verse This is where he said the infamous line in Travis’ opinion “Birds in the trap sing Brain McKnight” which just comes out of nowhere and is just gone. the whole verse is talking about girls, drugs, and money just the typical rap stuff.
This is just the typical rap song that has a nice beat, but weird auto-tune it sounds as if they are drowning underwater. I think that it is catchy, but it is just not for me i give this a 3/5 it is just the same rap songs that you hear on the radio just with a different sound.
