//REVIEW-Jidenna's debut album "The Chief" is the kind of fusion album I've been waiting to hear for a long time. Since the release of his debut single "Classic Man" I've been eagerly awaiting the release of this album from the rapper and singer. 2016 rolled around and no album. Upon my first listen I instantly knew why this project took so long. This album is extremely refined for a debut. From the opening story of "A Bull's Tale" to the closing bass guitar of "Bully of the Earth" Jidenna amazes me with his eclectic, yet coherent, exploration of his life in Nigeria and America while touching on topics of manhood, personal power, black pride, the lost loves that you can never fully forget, and a modern political rhetoric that addresses many of the racial and political realities that plague the U.S. today. Jidenna's lyrical style echoes shades of Kanye West, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, and Tupac. Don't mistake him for a copycat though. Jidenna makes every verse uniquely his own and creates a style that's hard to put into words. The music itself is a fusion of modern hip hop, pop, old school soul, tribal, afrobeat and soca. The degree of refinement that Jidenna presents in this album makes me appreciate the time he took to develop himself as an artist and musician. Overall, I give this album a confident and enthusiastic 5/5. My personal standout tracks from the album are "Chief Don't Run, Trampoline, Bambi, Helicopters/Beware, Long Live The Chief, Adaora, Little Bit More, Some Kind of Way, and White Niggas." I've had this album on repeat for two days now and I can't wait for the follow up. Long Live The Chief! #yeg #reviews #review #music #rap #rapreview #rapreviews #hiphop #hiphopreviews #jidenna #thechief
Youtube's cheapest trend
You thought watching a guy playing video game on Youtube was weird, until you learned Pewdiepie was making millions out of it. But internet never stops, and now you can contemplates dudes listening to music.
The reaction review is a concept nobody quite understand yet. It's rough but honest. Maybe what's closer to the Dogme's Vow of Chastity.
Here are the 5 best reaction review channels I came across in my youtube wanderings :
Complex Ambition : three dudes of various ethnic backgrounds listening to rap in a car.
IsTalkCheap : a guy alone in his room. But he's funy.
Caroline&Kezia - Music : the accent is just too charming.
BIGQUINT INDEED : be unemployed, make money out of it.
F.T.S Music : a guy listening to rap, but in his kitchen.

It’s Brand Nubian vs. Lord Finesse, Compton’s Most Wanted vs. Gang Starr, EPMD vs. Nas and Digable Planets vs. Ice-T. There are only a couple of hours left and your votes could sway this at the last minute!

Rap Reviews: Infinite (1996)
This was Eminem's first solo album debut, back before he ever created his second persona that would lead him to worldwide fame, Slim Shady. Infinite is different than what'd you expect out of a drug addict living in the racial city of Detroit. It's calm and relaxed, the beats are mellow and simple, and Marshall's voice and flow are quiet and heartfelt. Infinite wasn't the most looked-up-to album back in the 90's due to him being white and not being so well known around the block. Honestly, it's something you wouldn't blast in your car with your friends unless it's the first song, Infinite, that takes true rap to an amazing level! I've listened to this album many times but not enough to say it was a memorable piece from Shady's collection of hyped up lyrical insanity. Eminem does mention it though in some songs! Two tracks would be Shit Can Happen (D12 - Devil's Night) saying, "...ever since I spit some shit on Infinite, I've been giving it a hundred and ten percent" ; and on one of his most known songs Not Afraid (Recovery), "...from 'Infinite' down to the last 'Relapse' album He's still shitting...". That alone shows that he will always remember his debut even to this day, which will always be the thing that reminds him how that's how he got to where he is now.
Recommendations:
Tracks I'd imagine Stan's would enjoy would be, Infinite, 343, Backstabber, and Tonight.
