buffy  briefly  took  a  glance  around  the  bronze  at  alena's  words,  shrugging  nonchalantly.  ❛  only,  like,  all  the  time,  ❜  she  replied  simply,  offering  a  half-smile to @sacredpyre.  ❛  you  get  used  to  it,  though.  strange  and  sunnydale  usually  go  hand  in  hand.  kind  of  our  slogan.  'something  weird  is  happening',  ❜  she  added,  joking,  but  not  really.  every  day  something  otherworldly  decided  to  shake  things  up  around  here  and  the  good  people  of  sunnydale  rolled  with  the  punches,  pretending  things  were  normal  when  they  were  definitely  not.  well,  it  was  the  normal  for  this  town  and  people  have  come  to  accept  that.  the  slayer  sighed  softly  and  leaned  in  on  the  table,  resting  her  chin  in  the  palm  of  her  hand,  ❛  not  used  to  skeevy,  huh?  ❜  she  asked,  still  smiling  softly.

after  receiving  some  new  arrivals  in  woodbury,  they  were  told  by  the  new  residents  that  they  had  gotten  into  a  car  accident  not  too  far  from  their  gates  and  that's  how  they  happened  upon  their  little  gated  community.  him  and  @gcverncr  decided  to  go  out  together  to  check  out  the  wreckage,  for  ol'  times  sake,  of  course.  when  they  arrived,  it  was  a  lot  bloodier  than  merle  had  imagined  it  would  be.  there  were  walker  limbs  scattered  on  the  road  and  blood  spattered  across  the  tree  and  blades  of  grass,  shining  in  the  sunlight.  merle  was  looking  through  the  car  for  anything  that  could  be  useful;  weapons,  ammo,  food,  medicine.  that's  when  he  heard  brian  call  out  to  him.  merle  slams  the  dented  car  door  shut  and  saunters  over,  seeing  a  walker  head  trying  to  chomp  at  brian's  ankle.  merle  laughed,  shaking  his  head,  ❛  shit,  the  fucker  is  really  trynna  his  best,  ain't  he?  ❜  he  morbidly  joked.  he  picks  up  the  walker's  head  by  the  hair  and  begins  to  tease  it,  bringing  his  hand  close  to  its  teeth  then  pulling  away,  laughing.  ❛  c'mon  now!  m'  right  here!  take  a  bite  of  ol'  merle!  ❜

maybe  he  shouldn't  have  sprung  into  action  like  he  did.  maybe  he  should've  stayed  back  and  thought  about  the  next  move  before  throwing  himself  into  battle,  but  he  couldn't  help  himself.  he  was  always  itching  for  action  and  it  had  been  a  good  while  since  he  came  across  a  bunch  of  vampires  like  that.  it's  always  been  one  here  and  one  there,  but  this  was  a  whole  group  of  them!  family  of  them?  whatever  the  plural  is,  he  was  ready  to  take  them  out.  but,  looking  back  on  it,  he  probably  should've  waited  for  faith's  go  ahead.  if  @thatslayer  wasn't  there,  maybe  he  would've  been  monster  food.  he  winced  a  bit  when  she  dabbed  disinfectant  on  the  gash  across  his  arm,  eyes  falling  at  faith's  words.  ❛  sorry...  ❜  he  uttered  softly.  ❛  i  mean,  for...  what  happened  back  there.  kinda  went  a  little  crazy,  didn't  i?  ❜

it  wasn't  often  negan  injured  himself.  he  was  always  extremely  careful  and  cautious,  but  he  did  enjoy  doing  the  dirty  work.  it  kept  him  grounded  and  active  in  his  community,  plus  it  sent  a  message  to  others  that  he  wasn't  afraid  to  get  his  hands  filthy  if  it  was  necessary.  when  he  had  taught  a  particular  person  a  lesson,  one  of  his  men  that  thought  attempting  to  touch  his  god-daughter  was  a  good  idea,  he  had  gotten  a  little  too  feisty  with  negan,  scraping  him  with  a  knife  he  had  hidden  up  his  sleeve.  instead  of  being  placed  in  a  cell  for  eternal  torment,  negan  decided  a  swift  death  would  do  better  justice.  now  ali  was  patching  him  up  with  a  bandage  while  his  beloved  lucille  hung  by  his  side,  dripping  blood  and  flesh  stuck  to  the  barbed  wire  from  his  beating.  a  soft  smile  appears  on  negan's  lips  as  he  watched  @seerkin  wrap  the  gauze  around  his  arm,  ❛  thanks,  kid.  we  got  doctors,  you  know...  ❜  he  chuckled.  ❛  ain't  nothin'  but  a  scratch.  ❜

he  wasn't  angel,  no  dark  defender,  and  he  knew  this.  he  was  just   —   doyle.  he  wasn't  noble  or  heroic  or  mysterious.  he  was  just...  doyle.  but,  he'd  be  damned  if  he  ever  let  @bl3dchaos  get  into  any  kind  of  danger  or  get  hurt  if  he  could  do  something  about  it.  he  would  do  it  all  over  again,  saving  her  from  that  vampire  when  her  wimpy  date  fled  the  scene  in  his  fancy  car  and  shiny  shoes.  he  didn't  have  a  fancy  car  or  shiny  shoes,  but  he  did  have  the  decency  and  courage  to  help  a  woman  when  she  was  in  trouble.  when  they  got  back  to  the  office,  he  insisted  to  cordelia  that  he  was  going  to  be  just  fine,  but  she  was  persistent  in  her  need  to  patch  him  up.  he  did  manage  to  get  a  good  scrape  across  his  hairline,  bleeding  a  bit,  and  it  was  throbbing.  who  was  he  to  ever  say  no  to  cordelia?  ❛  careful,  now,  i  might  have  some  sort  of  concussion...  ❜  he  told  her  as  she  dabbed  a  small  cotton  ball  with  disinfectant,  but  a  teasing  smirk  danced  on  his  lips  as  he  gazed  into  her  eyes.  ❛  m'  alright,  y'know,  ❜  he  reassured  her,  nodding  a  bit.  ❛  are  you  alright  is  my  concern...  ❜

Casey shuffled her feet, edging back another step. Her fingers flexed around the knife's hilt, not yet ready to relax them. Blue eyes darted around, sweeping over him, trying to glean if she could trust the words. The young hunter hadn't gotten this far without caution.

When Casey's eyes finally settled on his face, they narrowed.

Slowly, she brought the knife down, but she never relaxed her grip, or the tension in her shoulders.

"Looking for what? Who are you talking about?"

❛  you  and  me  both,  kid.  difference  with  me  is  that  m'  tellin'  the  truth  whether  you  like  t'  believe  that  or  not  is  up  t'  you.  like  i  said,  i  rather  not  get  into  a  tussel,  ❜  he  replied  simply,  noticing  @normallyxstranger  didn't  immediately  lower  her  weapon.  smart  girl,  he  thought  to  himself.  she  was  cautious  and  that  was  good  of  her,  but  he  had  no  intention  of  attacking  her  unless  he  needed  to.  pesky  soul  and  all,  prevented  him  from  doing  real  damage  unless  necessary.

his  sapphire  eyes  track  her  movements  as  she  slowly  descends  her  knife,  his  body  loosening  in  relief  as  she  did  so.  ❛  lookin'  for  a  demon,  pet,  one  that's  caused  a  bit  of  trouble  'round  these  parts  and,  like  i  said,  i  don't  like  trouble,  especially  not  from  the  nasty  kind,  ❜  he  began  explaining  to  her.  he  puts  his  hand  up  to  signify  how  tall  this  creature  was,  ❛  'bout  yay  high,  nasty  bugga'.  scaly  type,  plenty  of  teeth  to  eat  his  victims,  ❜  he  further  described,  putting  his  hand  back  down  at  his  side.  ❛  i  was  pointed  in  your  direction,  sorry  t'  tell  ya,  so  m'  countin'  on  you  to  tell  me  where  to  find  the  demon.  ❜

Faith's about to protest. Send his bitch ass back to her beat up '66 Charger, probably save his fool life, but he says something that gets stuck in her craw. She pauses, looks back at him with an expression that says she's not quite sure she heard him right. "Dude, he doesn't eat the heads." Her brows pinch, eyes falling shut for a slow moment. She has to remind herself that this guy has helped save the world more times than Superman, and his skittishness here isn't the measure of his worth. "Look, once we cross that bridge? It's open season. That local spellcaster chick said the Horseman's been attacking everybody who steps foot on the other side, so there ain't no second chance to bag this dude. If you're not up for this, you better tell me now." Faith's bedside manner could do with some work, but after everything they've been through to reconnect, if that's what you even call this, the last thing she wants to do is throw him into the fray if he's not ready. It's selfish, she knows it is, but she can't help it.

xander  abruptly  stops  in  his  tracks  behind  @thatslayer  when  she  suddenly  turns  and  gives  him  the  most  bewildered  expression.  was  it  something  he  said?  he  presses  his  lips  together  and  brows  raise,  slightly  embarrassed  that  he  got  that  wrong.  ❛  right...  right...  ❜  he  nodded  as  if  he  understood  then  he  forms  his  own  confused  expression.  ❛  then,  what  does  he  do  with  them?  don't  tell  me  he  uses  them  for  decorative  art  pieces.  i  got  a  thing  with  heads...  ❜  he  adds,  flash  backing  to  the  frightening  experience  in  that  frat  house  during  one  halloween.  he  shudders  at  the  memory.  he  straightened  his  posture  when  faith  states  just  how  serious  this  situation  is,  shaking  off  his  nerves.  he's  faced  countless  of  gross  monsters  and  evil  creatures  before,  but  no  matter  how  many  he  faced,  he  was  determined  to  let  his  courage  lead  the  way.  he  forms  a  more  serious  expression  than  the  moment  before,  hands  on  his  hips,  ❛  no,  no.  i'm  good,  we  can  do  this.  i  can  do  this,  ❜  he  reassured  her,  and  slightly  himself  but  he'll  keep  that  tidbit  to  himself.  he  took  a  few  steps  closer  to  her,  catching  her  gaze  as  he  caught  his  breath,  ❛  seriously,  no  more  joke  xander.  you  call  the  shots,  i'm  right  behind  ya.  ❜

a  part  of  stefan  knew  he  might  be  thinking  a  little  too  far  into  the  future  than  he  should  or  that  he  was  allowing  his  feelings  for  katherine  to  cloud  his  better  judgement.  but,  he  had  never  felt  this  way  before,  not  with  anyone,  and  he  didn't  want  to  let  what  his  father  told  him  or  what  anyone  else  would  to  get  in  the  way  of  something  potentially  truly  amazing.  katherine  stole  his  breath  away  and  everything  that  he  was.  she  was  standing  right  here  in  front  of  him  and  he  had  no  intention  of  letting  her  go...  not  if  she  didn't  want  to.  he  kept  a  hold  of  her  hands,  a  shy  smile  brightening  his  lips  and  heating  his  cheeks,  a  rosy  pink  that  glistened  his  eyes,  ❛  it  can  be,  if  we  wanted  it  to  be...  ❜  he  trailed  off,  his  voice  nervous  and  soft,  like  he  didn't  want  to  pressure  her  into  anything,  but  only  wanted  her  to  know  how  far  he  was  willing  to  go  to  be  with  her.  ❛  you're  right.  we're  not  immortal.  forever  is  impossible,  but  the  rest  of  our  forevers  is  enough  for  me  if  it  is  for  you...  ❜  he  told  her.  he  was  like  a  love-sick  puppy  when  it  came  to  katherine,  but  he  wasn't  embarrassed  by  that  at  all.  it  felt  right  to  speak  his  truth  to  her,  even  if  it  was  a  little  far-fetched.  he  just  hoped  she  felt  the  same.

he  noticed  the  smile  he  was  able  to  entice  out  of  her  with  his  confession  and  it  brought  out  his  own,  stretched  from  ear  to  ear  with  his  heart  seemingly  stopped  in  the  process.  he  wished  he  could  freeze  this  moment  in  time,  but  he  couldn't.  her  smile  faded  and  worry  began  to  crawl  into  his  skin.  then  she  continued  to  explain  and  relief  began  to  wash  back  over  him  when  she  informed  him  that  she  had,  in  fact,  felt  the  same  as  he  did,  ❛  then  if  we  feel  the  same  way,  nothing  can  stop  us  from  being  together  as  much  as  we  want,  ❜  he  insisted,  squeezing  her  hands  again.  her  question  threw  him  off  guard,  though.  her?  not  as  good  of  a  person  he  had  always  thought  she  was?  was  there  something  he  didn't  know  about  her,  lies  she  had  told  of  herself  or  was  this  fear  of  letting  their  relationship  blossom  into  what  they  wished  it  could  be?  he  swallowed  thickly,  shaking  his  head  a  bit  in  disagreement,  ❛  you?  i  cannot  imagine  you  being  any  less  good  than  you  are  now.  where  is  this  coming  from?  ❜  he  asked,  chuckling  in  disbelief.  then  he  sees  true  fear  swallowing  her  eyes  and  his  own  eyes  mirror  it.  she  was  serious.  ❛  i  think  i  would,  miss  katherine.  you've  been  nothing,  but  gracious  and  kind  to  me  and  my  brother.  you've  allowed  me  to  love  you.  what  could  be  so  bad  about  that?  ❜
