To be brief, we, the admins of rarepairsolas, have felt for quite some time that there hasn’t been a place for those of us who don’t ship Solavellan, or do, but also ship Sovelyan, or Soladash, or Soladaar, or Solas x m!Lavellan (or whatever crazy ship names the kids are coming up with nowadays) for us to highlight and celebrate the awesome creative works that feature these rare ships. Our goal here is not to ostracize or combat or criticize. This is not a Solavellan hate blog and we have no intention of rating or qualifying any kind of ship. This is a safe space for those who would like to showcase work which doesn’t fit canon.
As of right now, we will stick to reblogging art and fic focusing on these ships as a way for all of us to find each other and see how many of us are out there. If you ever have a piece of work that fits these parameters, please tag us, and we will reblog it!
Again, I want to state that this is not going to be a confessional blog, or a place for you to air your grievances. This is strictly love for Solas and his various love interests, those that don’t get the kind of attention they deserve. If anybody has any questions, feel free to send us an ask. This is a work in progress, so please feel free to converse with us <3

This is from the first chapter of my fic Fledgling about a solythal daughter, set during inquisition. I wont be posting it until I'm farther along though.
"INQUISTOR!" The shout came from both Cassandra and Dorian. Maya and Solas paused to look over at their companions.
The two standing off the side of the platform looked frantic, was it the argument that that disturbed them? They both turned their head towards to the door.
The door that was now open.
Maya took a step away from Solas as she reached out to feel for the enchantment, it was gone, and the door had seemingly opened on it's own. "How did this happen?"
Dorian spared a glance at Solas before he spoke "It opened as soon as Solas stepped on to the platform, like it reacted to him."
She turned her gaze over to him. He looked uneasy, nervous. Whatever enchantment that was on the door had entirely dispersed in response to Solas and opened the way for them. She took a deep breath before speaking "Why did it open for you, Solas?"
He looked at her with a sort of dread in his eyes. "I…I do not know." He backed himself off the platform. "I have not seen magic like this before."
That seemed to be the most honest he'd spoken as of late, which made Maya nervous. The door had not closed even as Solas moved off the platform. The room beyond was dark, the sound of shifting water could be heard. Then, a tall elven woman breached the darkness. Her long white hair was braided and curled over her shoulder. Mythal's vallaslin curving over her features. Her eyes, a brilliant blue, scanned the room before landing on Solas who looked as if he wanted to run out the room, he twitched anxiously.
The woman smiled at him "It took you long enough, Wolf."
Solas furrowed his brows "I think you may have me mistaken for someone else."
"Do I? I know it has been a long time Solas but I do not think I could forget your face." She strided over to him, she did not look old but the way she held herself was as someone who had much wisdom and experience. Not unlike the way Solas himself appeared.
With a sigh of resignation, Solas spoke "Sen'an, I thought you were dead."
"Is that what My Lady told you?" She huffed a laugh. "No, I had a much more important task to undertake."
"And that is?"
Before the woman, Sen'an, could answer Cassandra piped up. "I am sorry but what is happening right now? Solas, how do you know this woman?"
Maya looked over at him, he seemed hestitant to answer. "She is...an old acquaintance. One I have not seen for many years. We met each other in the fade." He then spoke to her in elven.
Maya had a rudimentary knowledge of elven, it was never something she had picked up on easily though her keeper has tried to do everything to teach her. Solas even tried to teach her some and though she got better at the language she was still not fluent. They spoke to each other too fast and too quiet for Maya to pick up what they were saying.
Sen'an looked disappointed in his words, whatever he was telling her. She breathed out a sigh. "Come, I have something to show you, your companions may join." She paced back into the chamber and it lit up with veilfire torches as she breached the entryway.
Maya glanced over at Solas for a moment, giving him a contemptuous look, before she strode into the chamber after the elegant elven woman. Without looking back she could tell that Solas had followed her in with Cassandra and Dorian at the back.
Inside the chamber stood a large spring with flora all around it. There were other elven women in the room, about half a dozen, who did not even look up from their tasks as they entered. Some tended to the plants in the room, some picked herbs. Others grinding the herbs into a paste. The chamber itself was large and elaborate, the ceiling high enough to reach the surface. There were several wisps floating up above. In the center of the shallow spring laid a young looking woman. Her hair black as midnight, cropped down to her neck. Her skin pale with a dusting of freckles. She was dressed is simple silks that cascaded into the water. Her eyes closed in a deep slumber.
“Wife guy solas!”— what about solas sobbing over his aging husband because he has the dawning realization that he’s going to die one day and he’s going to spend the rest of eternity alone
(Don’t worry, there’s a happy ending— unbeknownst to him, the anchor made Ilmarë immortal and they do end up spending eternity together :)
Inquisitor Varryn Cadash navigates his new and unfamiliar dreams with the help of Solas. His crush on the man becoming apparently obvious as he acts on an impulse.

Felassan tilted his head to one side and said, 'General, you are very appealing when you're stern.'
Solas stared at him. 'I beg your pardon?'
'I think I was quite clear,' Felassan said, with a luminous grin, and then he turned away and left Solas without even waiting to be dismissed.
