When you ask yourself what made Sterek so popular, think: the fans! It was the fans’ love for the characters of Stiles Stilinski and Derek Hale and their shared chemistry together that made Sterek so lovable and shippable.

The dedication, the creativity, and the sheer passion from fans that was put into the ship through fanart, fanfiction, and fanwork of all sorts, is what gave Sterek the momentum that helped it move through the obstacles that were placed in front of it.
