I want to clarify as a person who lives in South Wales, literally no one in my area does this. Neither I or my friends know of this tradition but apparently it used to be a thing about a century ago and use of the Welsh language has declined since then, especially in the Eastern parts.

tl;dr do this if you want but 95% expect the police, 5% expect a lot of free booze because many people don't know Welsh and 100% you will scar children for the rest of their life.
