When I read avatar x reader fanfics on here and there's either smut or the chars getting into a relationship it irks me so bad when its based on human relationship and not the navi customs.
Because for the navi I would think that sex and intercourse would mainly be used for reproduction and connection since family and each other is an important concept. Yes sex can be for pleasure but mainly i think it would be special and a representation of their connection.
And that since they mate with one another by tsaheylu i think that sex would especially be special and to continue the cycle of energy. Through children or not.
And I have a reblog of another post from someone talking about how navi dont kiss and it's a human thing, i especially agree with that. It irks me to read navi just smashing lips when being together with another person is very special – I would even say that navi dont get romantic with one another if its not before eywa with the plan to be together.
Ik that navi can have sex without having children/choose not to have them, and that they can be in a poly thing with others. My opinion is just that I think bonded relationships are special and that they would do it correctly.
Especially since some of the x reader relationships are portrayed to be that they are bonded.
I dont think they would go around being sneaky or doing human things like that where they kiss and do things in secret. They arent humans.
I imagine courting is a thing when navi become adults in the clan, so that would be the time that sex and mating happens. No premating sex for the navi in my opinion.
