They never directly state if Gil was apart of Rowdy’s plan, though it is implied he’d be willing to be, and thus he’d be backup if/when someone came after Rowdy.

Or if Favor simply knew he had to keep his eye on him, since he figured Rowdy might have forgotten to consider what he’d do if someone DID come after him.

I’m inclined to think it’s the latter since it doesn’t even mention Favor going into town, but does mention “several other drovers”. So imagine Rowdy, thinking he’s had it since he didn’t consider his plan might actually work, then next thing you know, there’s Favor, gun in hand, having killed yet another man to protect him.

I can see why they changed it, but I’ll be damned if I don’t wish we could have had this.

Never mind I would have very much enjoyed a sequence of Favor stalking someone through dark alleys.

Love this cover! Biggest shocker is though that there are actually some not terrible depictions of Rowdy! (We’re shocked I know)

Still way too blonde and blue eyed, but hey! It won’t give me nightmares😭😭

Overall it was quite an exciting issue!

Bigger news though is that comics are now done!!

So with the addition of issue 1202 to the chuckwagon I think that’s the set! As far as I can find there were only 9 issues of Rawhide comics published, 7 from Dell and 2 from Goldkey, so unless anyone knows any different I believe I have the whole set! Enjoy! ❤️
