Raw Review: Official Music Video "E.T."- Katy Perry ft. Kanye West

First let me say that Katy Perry's latest album, Teenage Dream, is phenomenal. I recently got around to giving it a listen and was able to enjoy every track all the way through. She really speaks to the white girl in me. Should have done that sooner.

Some of my favorite songs are of course the singles which have already been released, "E.T.," "Firework," and "Teenage Dream." But I also like "Circle the Drain," "Peacock," and "Not Like The Movies." Overall, a great album that has made me an even bigger fan of the popstar.

Now we finally have a video for "E.T." and as expected it's filled with aliens and futuristic visuals. Superb graphics. I love that she features albino male model Shaun Ross at the end.

Raw Remembrance: Alexander McQueen

I stumbled upon this picture in a folder on my lappy and was compelled to pay tribute to the late, great designer Alexander McQueen. The one year anniversary of his death was in February. His work is so monumental and epic. The video below is of "Plato's Atlantis," which was the last collection he designed and showed before passing. Long Live McQueen.

Raw Review (Flashback Edition): Other Genre's Cover Hip-Hop

Lol I <3 when other genre's of music cover hip-hop songs. Not many bands or singers have been bold enough to emulate these magnificent musicians. Word.

Raw Ranting: Amber Rose- From Tailor Made to Taylor Gang

I used to admire Amber. I appreciated her unique look and I respected her hustle, but now she should figure out how to get some bread on her own. Build a brand off of her name and stop being the rapper's girlfriend.

To Ms. Rose: Though the bald look is your signature, without the dapper duds Kanye had you in, it's getting tired. You lookin silly out here ma! How you gonna go from chinchillas to Chucks?

Raw Reaction: (fu)CK Billboard in Soho

Oddly enough, the neighborhood in which this billboard resides represents the exact sentiments I have towards the controversy: So ho?!

People are claiming that there's a hidden message of the word "fuck" within the picture. The "f" being made by a table in the background, cut off by the model's body. The "u" being formed by the model's bra top. Then the last letters are Calvin Klein's notable "ck" logo.

I think people are reading too much into the ad. Clearly, the billboard is utilizing sex to sell their brand, even without the supposed subo. I mean I doubt this girl was directed to make the message about baking cookies or horticulture.

Then there's the argument that the ad is targeted toward young adults. People need to stop acting like sex is still taboo. It isn't, especially not amongst teenagers. That's all they fucking think about. That's all most people ever think about. Honestly whether there's a secret four letter word on this billboard or not, it is simply stating what everyone wishes they can do more of everyday: FUCK!

Raw Ranting: "Why the thirst? Better yet, why the 'Gucci?'" + More

I almost don't have any words. I'm lying, I have an essay:

This is the fuckery which took place on March 22, 2011 for Chris Brown's "F.A.M.E." album release party. Oh boy, did the groupie hoes make sure to leave the house extra parched! Going through those pics, some of these broads looked "seein mirages in the Sahara desert" thirsty. Of course, where there are groupies, there are guys that will be there to steer them away from the prize. I suppose the ones who wear fake ass Gucci are a good substitute for a fine ass, woman-beating, multi-platinum recording artist. Here's another pic from the same night, and it appears to be the same girl, this time getting the hydration she deserves. The photoshop editing is genius. Haha!

Three little black dresses on three newly transformed figures. It's safe to say these ladies are BAD. Not that they weren't beautiful before weight loss. Still, shedding the pounds has catapulted them into the community of bad bitches that make the world go round. To top it all off, they each look happy and are exuding hella confidence. Eccentricity would be an understatement to describe the fashions designed by Jeremy Scott. Katy Perry, GaGa, Rih Rih, and Hayley Williams (of Paramore) have all been bold enough to dawn his frocks. Scott made his debut to the world on Project Runway and since then he has been free falling right into his own fashion niche. A plethora of collections followed, not to mention collaborations with Adidas and, most recently, Swatch.

Scott designs for both men and women and displays the finished products in a coed runway show. Though they were hard to narrow down, here are some highlights from his most recent show:

His work is known for its flamboyant prints, clever phrases in block letters, bright colors, and unconventional fabrics. Another continuous theme of the line throughout the seasons is a twist on well known logos and brand trademarks. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

Whether it is literal or not, each piece makes a statement. The aesthetics appeal to the uninhibited, open minded men and women that liberate themselves through clothing. I wouldn't feel more free than in the lightning applique dress, with cape attached. I'd fly into mid air and hook up with my spacesuit clad beau on the moon.

  Lastly, I absolutely adore this translucent rhinestone trench. Imagine "surprising" your guy with the "nude under a trench coat" move in this number!

Nonetheless, I think the video is hot. The lead female actress is porn star Paris Rocks. She and her male counterpart are such professionals, you almost don't notice how bad the song is. But the UK artist sold himself out a bit. I probably won't ever listen to his stuff after today because he can't top this.
