So y’all know how I started an au off of @smilesatdawnmain ‘s au but low-key abandoned it? I DIDNT ABANDON MY CHILDREN TRUST! I’m just super duper busy at school so I’ll make an interactive storyline so their story is alive somewhere other than my slowly degenerating brian (yes that was intentional his name’s brian)
Id recommend you start with smilesatdawnmain’s Tragedy Of The Six au for background knowledge but I’ll be branching off on my own after a point in the early beginning.
Oh yeah this is gonna be interactive and I’ll post every week depending on y’all’s choices so feel free to reblog and help me make this a lil more popular cause I wanna show y’all how cool Yué is! If you have any questions about my hcs then you can ask! I’d love to answer but I won’t give out spoilers lol. Just search up the time lapse au tag on my tumblr to find my doodles of her! TYSM! ❤️❤️❤️
Oh yeah I’m tagging my lmk loving mooties but If you want or don’t want to be tagged just put it in the comments!

Summary: After enduring much hardship together, Shadowpeach finally settle down and decide to have a child. But on a day of celebration of their nephew Redson’s birthday, an attack from the Lady Bone Demon causes them to lose their precious egg and the heirs to the Demon Bull and the Dragon families and the Azure Lion and Ao Lie’s child. With all five children missing, their parents gravely wounded both inside and out, and the children and Wukong’s little brother Nezha dead…? What will happen next?
That day… the day that the floor fell from under Macaque’s feet. It deeply scarred everyone, he knew, but he couldn’t help but drown in his own anguish. The baby… they were RIGHT THERE. RIGHT IN HIS ARMS! SAFE. Safe…? No… he couldn’t protect them. He was a failure. He failed to protect his soul. Now nothing was left except guilt and well… nothing. Inside, Macaque knew it would hurt Wukong to see him like this. But no matter how hard he tried, his bones refused to budge. How was it that he had survived with a simple injury when the poor child had left without ever seeing the sun?! It should have been him.
That day… THAT. DAY. It was the day Wukong swore to avenge his mate, his brother, and his child. He swore to tear that witch apart for breaking his perfect family. For taking away his moon’s beautiful smile, leaving him a mere shell of his former brightness. Every day Wukong died a little more seeing his mate’s numb expression as he talked to him for hours to cheer him up, encouraging him to eat, even just a little every day. It broke his heart to see him like this. He was on high alert now. When he spent time away from flower fruit mountain in pursuit of the witch he had his clones guard his home and his only remaining family. Flower fruit mountain had become quite a secluded place. None were let in or out except the King himself. Rarely, when his moon would feel well enough to converse, he would ask to take a stroll outside the mountain. But however it pained Wukong to deny his moon’s extremely rare requests he wouldn’t be able to bare to even see him in such a deathly, ghastly state. Not again. NEVER. AGAIN.
Macaque walked to the edge of the waterfall, as far as he was allowed to go. He looked down. Down at the memories of over a hundred years — at two children splashing in the shallow bottom, at teenagers cursing and brawling and stealing glances, at young adults dancing around fluttering emotions, at new mates, planning their home, at parents-to-be deciding what to name their egg,
“What should we name them?” His sun had asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
“I’ve already picked a name for if they are a boy~” Macaque had cooed with equal anticipation and satisfaction.
“Our little heaven! I love it!” Wukong had giggled like an innocent child.
“I hope they have your laugh” Macaque sighed in content
“ I hope they’re as beautiful as you~” Wukong cooed as he lovingly stroked the golden tinted stone egg that they had carved and infused with their energies, as per Lady Guanyin’s instructions.
“You know, they could be a girl as well…” Macaque hinted “You decide a name for if they are a girl.”
“M-me?! But I suck at naming things! I almost tried to name you Snowy when we first met! Thank Nüwa you already had a name!” Wukong had stammered, making Macaque burst into a fit of laughs.
“Come on, it’s only right that you get to pick a name too~” Macaque had fake pouted, which had always caught Wukong right in the feels.
“Mkay, but you’re allowed to change your name when you’re older if you hate it ‘kay my baby?~”
Then Macaque saw flames and ice and pain. He saw his baby fading into the distance in the arms of Nezha. He felt the great tremor he had felt when both were gone. The Lotus Prince had sacrificed his life for his baby, but both had left this realm. Wukong, in a rage had gone to the diyu to search for their child to no avail. They’d likely passed on, he was informed. To a better life… or worse?
He kept looking down and down and down…
“I believe I’m allowed to sit here, no?”
Wukong leaped up to stand next to him. “O-of course moon it’s just that… I was worried. I thought you-“ he choked up.
“I what? I’d jump? We’re immortal. What good would that even do?” he retorted coldly.
“It’s cold out. Why don’t we go inside?”
“Why? To keep me safe? Or to keep me confined?” Macaque knew these things would hurt his mate, who was only trying to do what was best for them but he was tired. Tired of being controlled by fate and now by his sun. He had had enough.
“Moon! No I just- i know you must feel frustrated but you’re in no state to go out!”
“You think I can’t handle myself.”
“I THINK YOU DON’T WANT TO HANDLE YOURSELF! It scares me, love!”
“…do you think they would’ve looked like you?”
“Huh? O-oh…” Wukong’s face transformed into something foreign, full of rage and resent. His eyes had long since lost their luster but this was something entirely new, something that had quickly grown old in the past few months, something dangerous.
“They deserve vengeance. I’ll find the witch.” Yes, the innocent shine was gone, whatever was left was not to be trifled with.
“I’m tired. I’m tired of your vengeance and your appeasement. I just want them back. I just- HEAVENS I JUST WANT THEM BACK!” Macaque dropped to his knees, his numbness crashed like a fallen dam, letting the great waves of sorrow and regret flow. He burned. Every single day he burned for soft fur in his arms, the sweet smell of milk and the sound of little laughs. Oh what he would give to get them back!
“MOON CALM DOWN, I’M HERE!” Wukong worriedly tried to reach his mate after he was pushed back by a wave of shadows that had now covered the whole mountain. He hadn’t seen Macaque ever break down like this and it scared him.
“IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME! WHY COULDN’T IT HAVE BEEN ME!?” he looked up to the sky, “DO YOU LAUGH NOW? DID IT BRING YOU JOY TO TAKE A LIFE THAT WAS NEVER EVEN LIVED? ALL FOR WHAT? VENGEANCE?! FOR WHAT WE DID WHEN WE WERE YOUNG?”
“MACAQUE STOP YOU’LL HURT YOURSELF!” Wukong yelled at the top of his lungs! He couldn’t use his strength in case it hurt his mate.
“I’VE HAD ENOUGH!” I final and tremendous wave of shadow energy burst out of macaque sending anything within a mile radius flying except Wukong, who had held fast.
“MOON!” He rushed towards his mate. The shadow waves dissipated although their surroundings were dark. He slowly came closer to where his Moon was, he didn’t want to frighten him. Tears flooded his own eyes as he tried to look into his. “Moon?”
A sob. A broken, anguished sob. It sent Wukong rushing to Macaque’s side. “Moon wha-“ Wukong lost his voice has he saw two little shadows in his Moon’s arms, shaped like… HEAVENS they were shaped like infants! “Moon…”
“Save them. Please, please save them. They can’t last long.” Macaque begged. Here were two blessings in his arms, clouded and shadowy and slowly dissipating just like his baby… NO. He had created them. These were his babies too. And he knew Wukong’s powers could stabilise them. “Wukong PLEASE!”
Here were two children he could save and raise and they would be his own. They would grow and laugh and see the moon’s bright shine but what about his baby? What about them? They couldn’t be replaced. But after all that suffering he couldn’t see his moon plead in pain.
He sat down beside his moon and infused the bundles with a bit of his soul. Slowly the figures began to show clear features. Dark fur like his moon, deep red masks, nothing like Wukong, really, but he suddenly found himself loving them. He’d always hoped their child would look like his moon. Seeing the little ones scrunched up in his moon’s arms…
Wukong had let down his guard. He snarled as he rose and rushed towards the sound. It was only a few paces away, within clear view of his moon, his children, HIS FAMILY. He deployed his clones to survey and protect the whole mountain. He approached the cause of the sound, under a tree quite damaged from the shadow blast. A… stone? He used his golden vision to scan for any intruders but there was no cause for alarm…? Except this stone, nothing had entered nor exited the mountain. He approached the stone with caution. It was tinted a deep black, with speckles of white like stars in the night sky. An unusual stone indeed.
“Wukong…?” Macaque trudged forward right behind him, the children still held tight to his chest. He was still quite weak from the blast but there was a new energy about him. The determination of a parent. Gone was the empty shell. He approached the strange stone with caution, shifting both the tiny ones to one arm. “What is it?” He whispered.
“I don’t know. Stay away. Keep them safe.”
“Did you use gold vision on it?” He nodded towards the stone, stepping further away to protect his babies.
“Not yet.” He looked at it once more, with gold vision, and gasped.
“What? Is it dangerous? Wait…” Macaque heard a steady thumping coming from the stone, almost like… like a heartbeat. A tiny heartbeat…”
They turned to each other at simultaneously reaching the same conclusion with wide eyes.
Okie dokie what should they do?
Pick up the egg and chuck it back to the heavens
WE’RE RAISING IT GODDAMIT
Fight each other for who touches the shady egg first
I mean… it’s an egg… it’s safe?? let’s both touch it??
