RAYNA MEAD ✦ 29 ✦ CAPITOL CITIZEN ✦ TAKEN
“What I do, I do freely and with a clear conscience. Die, oppressor!”
Born to the disgustingly rich Mead family, Rayna always had a taste for rebelling. Her parents often blamed it on her older brother Oberyn, but she was her own person, and she told them that time and time again. Sure, he had an influence on her, and sure, they did a lot of the same things together, but she made her own choices.
Like the first time she ever watched the Games on television— the moment she saw one of the kids kill the other, she knew it was wrong and she began hating it. It wasn’t until she turned thirteen when Oberyn told her he hated it as well. So, not wanting to give the Capitol what they wanted out of them as citizens, she did her school, she trained at the Peacekeeper Academy, but she went for a different reason other than becoming a Peacekeeper. She went simply to learn how to fight and what tactics they used and so on and so forth. She even learned a little something about computer technology and the sort. It was a perfect plan.
Before she was supposed to graduate and get her first assignment, she dropped out of the school, wasting her parents money (not like they cared), and she moved into an apartment right next to her brother. There, the two stirred up as much trouble as they could with the Peacekeepers, rebelling in every way possible that wouldn’t get them severely punished.
The Peacekeepers know both by names already and they probably know more than they ever wanted to know about the two. Rayna’s even dated a few Peacekeepers for the heck of it. The only real reasons the two aren’t locked away forever yet are their parents. Lyanna and Doran Mead used to be friends with the former President Snow, and are now friends with President Greenlaw as they keep their social status up. They would not have their children in prison for no longer than a week, and even then would they still get special treatment.
With that knowledge, they got thrown into the jail whenever they could— and they have regretted it only one time. Who would have thought that the rebellion would come crashing into the Capitol during the fifth day into the Quarter Quell? Certainly not them. When it happened, the two were furious they had missed their chances to go to Thirteen. It was their own faults though; the two didn’t bother to make the right contacts.
Now that they missed their chance, Rayna simply helps Oberyn in distracting Peacekeepers and such, though they have cracked down on security. Now, she just hangs out with the Peacekeepers with nothing better to do, gathering information when she can.
Truth is, the Peacekeepers don’t even truly know why Rayna and Oberyn rebel so much. Most just think it’s because they can and they’ve got nothing better to do. Others don’t care.

love is where the heart is
"Can I help you? I wasn’t planning on having any staring contests today, but I will. If that’s what you’re looking for."
Sorry. Totally must have been dozing off.
From what I’ve been told, people sometimes like that kind of thing. They’re called kinks. It’s a nice bike, I can see why you’re testing it out. I work here, in the Capitol. I’m the executioner.
I assume you do? The executioner? Remind me not to get on your bad side. [She said with a chuckle.]
Unless you have a mouth full of canines and fangs, it wouldn’t hurt. Not at all. I’m here for work. You?
Not even if one bites hard? You're pretty hardcore. I'm just testing out this bike my parents got me for my birthday. Simple, fun stuff. Where do you work?
I wouldn’t be scared of a bite.
I'm sure you wouldn't. You come to the tracks often?
Heeeello, there. I don't bite. Sometimes. I mean, I can't promise I won't bite.
In that case, it would be a shame to let it air. At least not all the way. It might be more satisfying to interrupt their ‘very important’ broadcast, and probably save Mr. Flamel some future trauma.
The necessity of saying ‘sometimes’ is unfortunate. I’m still trying to make up for last year’s mistake.
[She socks him in the shoulder.] You fucking dolt. You'll never be able to make up for last year. Not until we find ourselves on one of their hovercrafts.
I couldn’t agree more. Things have gotten far too comfortable around here.
Rumor has it they’re going to be televising one of their Hijacking victims, Acacio Flamel, to spread some new clever ideas about the Rebels.
Ohhh, that sounds fun. I've been practicing getting past firewalls lately, too.
You have the best ideas, sometimes.

Our reputations precede us.
Next time I'll come here under another name. Tch. Anyway, have you any ideas for the weekend? I'm thinking our lovely Peacekeepers need some entertainment.
You have your ways of showing off, I have mine.
Well? Did you kill anyone?
Unfortunately, no. No one was stupid enough to run onto the tracks.
It can only be called that if you killed someone.
Excuse me, but I don't remember you learning how to ride a motorcycle at any point of your life.
I like to come and just watch. I usually come for the eye candy, to be honest.
Ooo, so do I. I'm Rayna. I could teach you how to ride, if you want.
Impressive.
Thank you. I wasn't aware anyone else was here at the tracks.
That was a hell of a ride.
