OBERYN MEAD ⦠39Ā ā¦Ā CAPITOL CITIZEN ⦠TAKEN
āIt is a big and beautiful world. Most of us live and die in the same corner where we were born and never get to see any of it. I donāt want to be most of us.ā
Ten years his sisterās senior, Oberyn Mead was born with the heart of a rebel. Though he grew up not ever paying attention to the Games (despite the fact that his parents were often sponsors), when he reached the age of 10 he finally watched, and what he saw he did not like.
That year just so happened to be the year his baby sister was born, as well. From then on, he made her a promise. No matter what her view on the Games, he would make damn sure that sheād knowĀ why they were wrong. And if she still liked them (if she even ended up liking them), then he would keep his views to himself.
Thankfully, he didnāt have to wait as long as he had thought he would. While he knew she was ten when she finally made her decision, he waited three more years to tell her that he shared the same views. After that, the two were truly inseparable. He let her make her own decisions, of course and let her live her life. But they wereĀ truly brother and sister.
While Rayna lived her life, Oberyn lived his. He studied toxicology at Capitol University as well as learning how to fight from the Peacekeeper Academy. Rather than taking the conventional route of guns and fist fighting, he took a special class. He learned how to fight with a spear (though it was completely useless.) He figured once the time was right, he could combine his knowledge in toxicology and spear fighting and kill President Snow.
One year after coming up with that plan, he thought it over, and realized it was absolutely ludicrous. He dropped it and began thinking of a new one. And then, his chance of fucking Snow over came. It was perfect timing. Having gotten the highest scores in the history of the toxicology class, President Snow contacted him and asked if he would help. When Oberyn asked with what, Snow told him (in secrecy, of course) that he needed some politicians dead. Oberyn was to create a poison that would kill them with no trace left behind. And he did, with the future knowledge of the press catching hold of this deal, forcing Snow to drink the same thing they drankā andĀ notĀ dying to prove that heĀ didnāt poison themā that they had died of some other thing. Of course, Oberyn warned him about thisā and the President still wanted to do it. That was the only time he ever admired the man.
After that, Oberyn was graciously paid and he got his own apartment, using the money he earned and not the money his parents simply handed to him. Soon after that, Rayna moved into the apartment right next to his. Now finally living their own lives, they were both determined on causing as much trouble as they could in the Capitol.Ā Oberyn already knew that he could get away with aĀ lotĀ of things and simply get out of jail a week or so after what heād done.
Thus, when it came to the end of the Quarter Quell, the Mead siblings found themselves in a cell once again. It was only until the victors were broken out and a few Capitol citizens left, that they regretted causing trouble for the very first time. They were furious that they had missed their chance. Afterward, they were causing more trouble than before, and now the Peacekeepers know who they are and know more than theyād ever wanted to know about the two.
Recently, Oberyn has started to send anonymous messages to District Thirteen, helping them out in any way possible. There was one message in particular that he knew for aĀ fact would help them, though. He sent them one word and one word only:Ā underground.Ā The tunnels beneath the Capitol were only used by Avoxes, and they were harmlessā so they were completely unguarded. And now after that, Rayna and Oberyn have come up with the plan of getting the Capitol to look at the skies more often than the ground.
Most think theyāre just doing it for the hell of being little shits. Others donāt care at all. It gives them something to do and quite frankly, itās slightly amusing.
