Idia Pov: I still find it hard to believe she is here again, for the past month Sutton has been going over after class to visit me in my room just to hangout and talk or challenging me in one of my games. I didn't even know she actually existed until about two months ago. I heard the rumors that a girl was living and attending Night Raven College but I didn't believe them. Not until I was going out for some more snacks and attempting to getting a new game that just came out. Just when I had made it to the main street, I saw her. A pretty girl with coco brown skin, light brown eyes, long dark curly hair with the very ends of her hair dyed...BLUE! The same color blue as my own hair! It really shocked me to see someone have the same colored hair as me, well at least partially. Even though I wished I could see her better up close, I was too afraid to even be seen by her so then I hid behind the Maleficent statue since it was the closet one and silently prayed that she'd leave very soon. Right now I wished I could've made that a saved point like I can in my games. But at the time, that encounter made me more anxious than ever...but I was also a bit curious to see who the mysterious stranger was. I peeked my head out just a little bit when-.
Sutton: "Um hello? I know I saw someone out here...Ace if you are about to jump scare me again I swear to the Great Seven I'm gonna kick you so hard where the sun doesn't shine that you'll be tasting iron for weeks-"
Idia: "NO I'M NOT ACE PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!!"
Sutton: "OH, I'm sorry, I didn't really mean to scare you specifically. My friends have been doing just that, just so they can see me freak out in the most embarrassing way possible, well at least I think it is. It's already gotten old but for some reason it's still funny to them."
Sutton: "So um....who are you?"
Idia: "Uh umm, my n-name is I-idia. Idia S- Shroud."
Sutton: "Idia Shroud.......that sounds familiar but it's not ringing any bells at the moment."
Idia: "A-a-and w-who are you? I don't remember this school letting g-girls in." Idia said while blushing and still half hiding behind the statue.
Sutton: "My name is Sutton, Sutton LaBou. I'm the one who comes from a different world." She held out her hand so that I could shake it, but I was still a little scared of her because of the whole 'kick in a very specific place' comment.
Idia: "Well I need to g-go now s-so.....BYE!"
I ran past her as fast as I could, trying desperately to find a place where I deemed was safe. After I had grabbed all the things I originally came out for, I came back trying to be as sneaky and unnoticedable as possible. When I made it back to my room I finally felt like I could breathe again.
Ortho: "Nii-san, what took you so long? You'd usually be back here half an hour ago."
Idia: "Sorry Ortho, I was ambushed by a creature from another world?"
Ortho: "A creature from another-? Do you mean that female student with no magic?"
I froze at the mention of her. (" What was the Headmaster thinking letting a GIRL stay here at all boy school? So what if she is from another world, with her here there will be utter chaos I'm sure of it.")
Ortho: "Nii-san." Ortho was giving me a suspicious look. "You aren't saying very kind things about her, whether out loud or in your head."
I was a bit embarrassed when my Otōto (little brother) pointed that out. I forgot that Ortho could always tell what I'm thinking no matter how much I tried not to physically show my emotions, but I was just so nervous. I mean I don't even like interacting with the regular students here, how in the hell was I suppose to deal with a girl student who was actually pretty cute?!?!?!!! Then I remembered something that made me smile widely.
Idia: " Well unkind words or not, it's not like I'll ever see her again since I'm normally in here all day, I mean that encounter was like getting a perfect SSS score on a brand new game on the hardest mode on the very first try. So I highly doubt I'll have to deal with my anxiety around her." I smirked.
Ortho just shook his head and whined. "*sigh* Nii-san."
Narrator POV: In a normal case, Idia would've been right. A normal person would've just called that strange interaction weird and had written it off as just like that. But Sutton wasn't like that, she felt bad that she scared such a nice guy. ( or so she thought .😏) So after classes were done she was determined to find him and apologize.
Sutton POV: I got my answer quickly when I asked Riddle if he knew who Idia was, turns out he was the Dormleader for Ignihyde.
Sutton: "The Ignihyde? Oh I remember that name from the sorting mirror. But wait, I don't think I've ever even seen anyone from that dorm for that matter."
Riddle: "That would be because they are all cowards who rather hide behind a screen then face reality and people head on." He said annoyed.
Trey tried to calm Riddle down and then said. "They're not so bad. They are all very gifted in magical tech and engineering, so Headmaster made them a deal. As long has they helped the school with anything technical, tablets, phones, any miscommunication from electronics, and that sort of thing, he'd allow those who weren't to keen on being around other people to stay in there rooms and take their classes via the mirror app."
Sutton: "I see, no wonder they aren't around the school at all. Well I should start heading over there before I'm to late." So I went to the Chamber of Mirrors and looked for the dorm. When I found the right mirrorand went through, I had to admit it was definitely creepy but hauntingly beautiful. From blue flames, the chilling skeleton bodies and faces, and what sounded like screams of terror coming from who knows where, it was almost as if I had went to the afterlife and didn't end up going to the good one.
The horrorfic screaming had me so scared that I practically flew up the stairs when I ran trying to make it to the entrance in such a hurry. After I caught my breath I was pleasantly surprised to see what the inside of the dorm looked like. It was definitely high tech, something I liked to see in one of those futuristic society syfi movies I used to watch.
Still no one was in the hallway, and I didn't hear anything coming from the lounge room but I did start hearing things when I began walking past the rooms. Everyone in them had seemed to be either working, playing music , or gaming. I didn't want to be rude and disturb them so I kept walking, hoping I'd eventually find someone soon and just then. "Hi I haven't seen you before, can I help you?" I turned around to see a person...hovering? Just above the floor. I couldn't help but smiled at them and was trying to take in who I was looking at. He seemed to have some sort of mental armor that went around his body perfectly, and a dark blue mask that covered his mouth and nose. On further inspection I suspected that whoever this person was, may not actually be a human person although their face definitely looked human even if some of it was covered. "Um hello, are you alright?" I finally snapped back to reality.
Sutton: "Sorry about that I tend to daydream when I go to new places and think about what might be my experience there."
??: "What has your experience been like so far?"
Sutton: "Quiet, really quiet. To be honest it's a bit unnerving to me to have over a hundred boys in this dorm and I can literally hear myself involuntary breathing."
??: " I'm sorry to hear that, but my brother is pretty loud I'd say. He is so loud that he used to get noise complaints anytime he started playing his games. So he soundproofed his room so that nobody could disturb him while he's gaming anymore."
Sutton: "Wow your brother sounds like a hard-core gamer."
??: " Yes he's rather good actually, he's ranked number 10 as one of best gamers in the entire world."
Sutton: "TOP 10 SERIOUSLY?!?!??!!!! Omgs your brother most really be amazing."
??: "Yeah I'm so proud of him."
Sutton: "Maybe you can introduce me to him after I find the person I'm looking for, what's his name?"
??: "Idia, Idia Shroud. "
Sutton: "Wait a minute, Idia Shroud? That's exactly who I'm looking for! Hehe I should've known he's a gamer he definitely has that vibe going on, plus well is under eyebags have under eyebags." I giggled just a tiny bit.
??: "So you are the girl from last night that was he talking about. I was hoping you were but you can't be presumptuous."
Sutton: "I came here to tell him I was sorry for scaring him last night....could you take me to him please?"
??: "No problem. Follow me."
As we were walking I realized something, "Oh I'm sorry, I never asked you what your name was."
Ortho: "My name is Ortho Shroud, and I believe your name is Sutton LaBou, correct?" He turned around and stuck out his hand. " it is very nice to meet you."
I then took his hand and shook it. "I'm very happy to meet you too." I smiled warmly at him.
Narrator POV: Ortho blushed. Not used to being around any type of female, human or otherwise, he actually enjoyed the sensation of that minimal contact and wasn't quite ready to let go yet. So he
Softly tugged her along till they reached Idia's room. Next to the door was a little blue screen that had math problem on it, if you'd want to get in you'd have to solve it.
Sutton: "That seems like an extremely hard problem, maybe we should knock and-"
Ortho: " It's open now." He smiled, pushing the door open, and inviting me in.
Sutton: ".....I'll pay you $50 bucks if you can do all of my math homework for a month."
Ortho: "If I do that you'd never learn. Besides, I doubt it would the last time you'd ask me to do it for you." He laughed.
Sutton: "Ah man, you caught on to my master plan." I jokingly say.
Narrator POV: While that was going on behind him, Idia was to busy playing a game with his headphones on and was totally oblivious to the fact that his little brother just invited THAT GIRL, into his room. So you can understand why he was terrified when suddenly he felt his headphones taken off and hearing a foreign voice say "hello" to him.
("It's HER!") Idia thought and just froze in fear not knowing what to do. He looked from Ortho to Sutton then back to Ortho. Finally he was ready to speak.
Idia: "H-how d-did you f-find me?"
Sutton: " Oh I asked around if anyone knew who you were and Riddle told me where to find you." I said smiling down at him. I then walked over to his bed and sat down. "Nice room here, I mean it. It reminds me of my friend Justin's place. He was or I should say is a gamer too but not as accomplished as you are."
She really was making Idia anxious, he couldn't comprehend why she was even at his dorm, let alone his room. His fortress of solitude. His hair was already turning bright red. If He didn't calm down now he was going to lose it, one way or another. He was taking deep breathes but he just couldn't take it anymore.
Sutton: "So um... I just came over here to tell you that I am sorr-"
Idia: "GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM, I DONT KNOW WHAT THE FU*K MADE YOU THINK THAT I WANTED YOU HERE BUT I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW YOU'RE MISTAKEN. YOU'RE A FREAK FROM ANOTHER WORLD AND I HAVE NO INTENTION OF BEING YOU'RE GODDAMN PLAYMATE OR SOME SH*T LIKE THAT. LEAVE AND DON'T YOU DARE COMEBACK!!!!" He screamed while his eyes were shut. When he finally opened them though, he realized he had definitely gone too far. Her eyes that seem to sparkle when she talked, now looked hollow as if she had suddenly become soulless. Tears started streaming down the sides of her face and just like that she got up off the bed and took off running, while grabbing the door behind her, that was closed with such force it shook his room.
Idia: "I didn't mean to make her cry...well at least she's gone." He then tried turning around, getting back into his game and sitting in his swivel chair just to be turn back towards the door, with his little brother floating just a few inches away from his face.
Ortho: "You went too far Nii-san. She was being nice."
Idia: "I-I...I just wanted her out of here, why was she here in the first place and how did she even get into my room?" He looked at Ortho as if he betrayed him but his little brother was just too disappointed to even feel guilty.
Ortho: "I helped her find you because she wanted to tell you this." Ortho then created a holographic projection of the encounter she had with him in the hallway that he had recorded.
"I came here to tell him I was sorry for scaring him last night....could you take me to him please?" She said smiling.
Narrator POV: Idia could tell she was just trying to be nice. She did seem like a kind person....why didn't he just let her finish? He sorta jogged to his door knowing that she was definitely gone by now but was holding on to a sheer shred of hope. But there was no mistaking that she had already left because instead seeing a girl near one of the walls crying, he was greeted to parade of disappointed stares from all of the other dorm members on his floor looking back at him from their own rooms. He'd never seen so many people look at him like that. Sure he remembered getting some giggling stares from girls who made fun of his geekiness in middle school and a few stares of admiration and pride from adults who were impressed by his works. But never...this. For the first time ever, he actually felt like the jack*ss in one of dating RPGs. He quickly closed his door and flopped onto his bed.
Ortho: "I liked her Nii-san...she was really nice to me, if I had to off by her first impression, i think she wanted to be your friend. She was so friendly and caring....and you hurt her brother. Badly."
Idia knew his brother was really mad now, Ortho never called him brother. This was a seriously bad situation. "I-I know Ortho. I know...." Idia said.
Ortho: "You really need to fix this Nii-san. You need to apologize to her properly."
Idia felt trapped, how could he apologize to her face to face. Then he started to perk up when he thought about that because....you don't have to necessarily be near or around that person to say 'I'm sorry'. And he was sure getting her a gift would make her happy enough to forgive him. ("Yeah that would have to work.") He thought. (" But what would she want, what does she even like?") Idia then remembered some of the whispers about her. Since she wasn't from here, she didn't have any of their tech stuff, no smartphone, no tablet, no TV, no gaming systems...seriously how was she even surviving right now? But he instantly knew what he'd do for her, he'd make her a brand new smartphone equipped with ever game, spell guide, and mini bot that would live inside of her phone that could keep her company when she got lonely.
Idia: " Don't worry little brother, I promise I'll make it up to her." He said with a wild grin.
So he had a new mission for this real life game. His objective: Make the girl happy. His weapon of choice: New phone. Time and place: At NRC during midday towards night. (He figured she'd be free from classes by then.) Deadline: One month. So now it's just about putting this plan into action. Game On!
