I just had a thought: Steve gets kicked out of home in his final year of high school by his parents, but is trying to hide it.
Eddie is ranting to Wayne at home about how rich and entitled Steve is.
And Wayne is like "Eds, you know I volunteer at the Hawkin's Food Bank?"
"Yeah, so?"
"So, Steve Harrington has been getting groceries from us every Thursday. Why would he queue up for an hour every week if he was still getting everything on a silver platter?"
my silly two cents on why I don’t think ao3 ever needs an official app are that
it works just fine as it is
if it has an app, that means it has to be approved by appstore / google play store, that means there’s a very real and high chance of appstore and play store “banning specific contents from ao3”, leading to censorship. so this goes against ao3’s core principles of being against censorship.
I think we’re so used to every single thing being an app that we don’t realize not everything has to be an app. the “should ao3 has an app or not” discourse wasn’t around before until recently, and there’s a reason for that.
also worth mentioning that all the “ao3 apps” you see are third-party apps (and these apps usually have ads). as of the time this post is being made, ao3 does not have an app. so all the “ao3 apps” you see are not affiliated with the actual ao3 in any way, shape or form. so be very careful giving these apps your login info and/or other personal information.
reminder that ao3 does not recommend typing directly onto their site. the site doesn’t automatically save works for you. if the site crashes, if your wifi gets disconnected, if you lose power, if there’s a glitch, you risk losing everything you’ve typed down. type your work elsewhere. safe your work elsewhere. then copy and paste it onto ao3
if i was born 500 years ago i would have been speculating that the two dudes who went to get firewood together were fucking
chat, how long do y’all think 500 years is. Romeo and Juliet was written in the 1500s. 500 years is not the Stone Age.
why do u think people stopped collecting firewood after caveman times
Many such cases

being an adult is a weird combination of wanting to sleep all the time but also reacting to it being your bedtime a little like a toddler who doesn’t want to take a nap
Eddie hates dentists.. He’s got a cavity he’s been ignoring for months because the last time someone stuck tools in his mouth was years ago and Steve finds out and goes full mom mode telling him. “I’ll drive you and I’ll sit in the waiting room then after I’ll buy you ice cream after if you go.”
Eddie scoffs, kicks his feet up on Steve’s coffee table. “Dude, I’m not five. I don’t need a bribe.” But then three days later he shows up at Steve’s door at 8am with his arms crossed. “Well? You better get me ice cream, Harrington I want Rocky Road with Two scoops. I’m not getting drilled for nothing.” Steve just grins and grabs his keys. “Knew you’d come around, Munson.”
Steve’s been putting it off for months. Eddie wants to meet his parents, but Steve’s sure it’ll be a disaster. “They’re going judge you, Eds. They’re… passive aggressive. Dickish. Country club assholes. You don’t want that.”
Eddie just shrugs, loops his fingers through Steve’s belt loops. “I can handle it. I want to meet the people who made my boyfriend.”
Steve melts. God, he’s sweet. But he still spends the whole drive prepping Eddie and tells him don’t mention the trailer, don’t talk about D&D, if my dad brings up business just nod, if my mom asks about your ‘plans’ say you’re in community college. He’s basically telling Eddie what to say to survive dinner. And he doesn’t want to but he doesn’t want to see Eddie hurt. They get to the Harrington house and Steve’s braced for impact. Then his parents surprise him.
His mom takes one look at Eddie’s rings and compliments them and she ends up showing off her jewelry collection and during dinner she tells Steve “Oh my god, where have you been hiding this guy, Stephen?” And she’s delighted to learn Eddie’s a musician and tells him about all the concerts she’s been to. She spends the whole night telling Eddie about seeing Sabbath in ’74, and how she met a lot of bands. She asks about his guitar, compliments his eyeliner, and calls him “charming.” His dad’s awkward but actually tries, asking Eddie about his music “career” without the usual sneer. Steve’s sitting there shocked, watching his parents like Eddie. Like, genuinely. And it’s kind of freaking him out.
When they leave, Steve’s mom loads Eddie up with a Tupperware of her famous lemon bars “for the road.” In the car, Eddie’s grinning in the passenger seat with a container of desserts on his lap.
He glances at Steve. “Babe, your parents are really cool.”
Steve’s still processing. “I… what? I don’t know who those people were.”
Wayne starts talking to Steve in the hospital while they wait for Eddie to heal. First, to thank him, obviously. But he knows about Steve's reputation and he knows that his kind would prey on Eddie's at school, so a few words and a nod should do. But when there's so much time to wait, they start making small talk. Start talking about sports. Anything. This goddamn town. Life in general.
They begin to realize that they have more in common than they thought they would. A rich kid who's actually a good person after all and not only a honorable hero. A parental figure that despite working so many hours a day, is actually really present and a pillar in the life of their kid. And well, the trailer might be small but there's room for two.
So that's how Steve Harrington ends up basically living in the Munsons trailer (at least way more than at his own house) while Eddie is just trying to get comfortable with his current health condition. He can't really get jealous of sharing Wayne with him when he's never seen Steve this comfortable and happy.
steve would love 2000s chickflick movies SO bad. wouldn't even be a guilty pleasure for him he'd love them so much
just sitting down with a face mask on, hair up in a towel while he does nail care post everything shower in cozy clean clothes (a shirt of Eddie's ofc) a mix of meat and cheese slices next to him (thats his puppy snack of choice, duh) with legally blonde or white chicks playing on the tv
and not to sound like a conspiracy theorist but another reason I hate the return of 2000’s th*nspo shit is bc starving does make women frail and has longer term consequences like early osteoporosis, brittle bones/teeth, insomnia, ect. Your muscles will start eating themselves. It also makes you extremely emotional and severely lowers your capacity for critical thinking not bc you’re a girl but because your brain isn’t getting any fucking nutrients so idk I just feel like its very convenient that every time there’s an uptick in fascist rhetoric and women’s rights are being stripped suddenly it’s peak fashion for women to be starving, weak, and exhausted
Please remember to eat. Your body literally contains you. Please take care of it. Fuel it properly. Like if you're making sure the electronics in your life are charged, then make sure your body is too.
if you, like me, are hesitant to enjoy what kinda sounds like "relaxes food standards" on the surface, I'm happy to report that this isn't "everyone can do what they want with your food supply without oversight" but rather a case where in NYC you had to have a permit to sell food and a second, superfluous permit to sell frozen desserts. This action simply removes the need for the second permit, rolling it into the first permit in order to help small businesses. Yay!
Claudia Henderson gets too sick to make her famous brownies for the bake sale, Steve Harrington steps in. His batch is a hit with everyone, which doesn’t sit well with one of the moms the town’s reigning PTA bake off champion. And she calls him an amateur and challenges him to a public bake off to “put him in his place.” Eddie immediately volunteers to sabotage her, but Steve refuses. Until the lady makes a snarky comment about one of the kids. Then suddenly , Steve’s done taking the high road. And says to him. “Go for it, Eddie.”
Hey what if Steve likes to write but he’s embarrassed about it because his dyslexia means everything is misspelled and shit so he thinks he’s just not good at it at all but then Eddie finds it and is like. Dude this story is sick? I love this? I’ll totally edit it for you but you have GOT to publish this
Eddies only halfway through reading what Steve has when he says that tho so he doesn’t realize it’s a queer love story until later and he has to ask about it. Steve is all nervous like ‘you got a problem’ bc he doesn’t know Eddie is gay yet and Eddie is like ‘no of course not!’ and it’s awkward for a second but then they kiss about it
Afterwards Eddie is like. Wait. The main characters were us weren’t they?
And Steve blushes and tries to deny it but yeah they were lol
Bitches when a fic has pre-friendship steddie having drunk conversations at a party.
It’s me. I’m bitches. AND IM PROUD serve me that shit 9-5, 7 days a WEEK.
Steve has had enough of Eddies frizz. He’s taming that yeti once and for all.
They’re standing in Eddies shower, Eddie on his knees with Steve’s hands in his hair. Not in the way Eddie usually prefers.
Steve talks all the while he works one of the many new products into Eddies hair.
“Y’know, you’ll look so nice with your curls healthy!”
“I wish I had your hair, it’s just so nice!”
“It’ll be so soft, Eds, trust me!”
“I’d wash your hair and every time you shower if you’d let me.”
He says the last thing seriously but tries to play it off as a joke, Eddie knows this because it’s followed by:
“But that’s silly because I know you shower when I’m at my house too, so it’s not like I could actually wash it for you every time.”
“You could,” he shrugs
Steve looks confused
“Just move in with me, Steve”
Idk if this is anything but maybe hear me out??
Rock star Eddie meets steve on a night out and invites him to be his date to the next red carpet. Steve is like “are you serious?” To which Eddie replies “yeah it’ll be funny” and Steve goes “bet”. So they pull up to the red carpet together trying to convince reporters they have secretly been dating and in love for years and keeping it a terrible secret when in reality they met like 3 days prior.
