NGVAMERICA STATEMENT ON POLIS EXECUTIVE ORDER
Washington, DC – NGVAmerica President Dan Gage today issued the following statement in response to Governor Jared Polis’s Executive Order requiring all of Colorado’s VW Emissions Settlement funding go towards the purchase of new electric vehicles (EVs) only: "In one quick stroke of a pen, Governor Polis appears to have chosen to appease EV corporate interests and political partisans at the expense of an entire generation of Colorado children. The governor is directing tens of millions of public dollars dedicated to mitigating the harmful impacts of the VW diesel emissions cheating scandal to purchase expensive, new and unproven EVs powered by a Colorado electric grid that is 54 percent fueled by…. (wait for it) … coal. "These VW Environmental Mitigation Trust resources are provided so states can address the damaging clean air effects of the Volkswagen emissions cheating scandal by mitigating the most nitrogen oxide (NOx) as soon as possible. That cannot happen by sequestering all VW funding for new EV purchases, which remains today an ultra-expensive and unproven heavy-duty vehicle technology. "Sure, electric vehicles have zero tailpipe emissions, but their impact on the environment must be measured throughout their entire lifecycle and how their power is generated. "Consider also that heavy-duty trucks and buses are the number one source of urban emissions, and three out of four heavy-duty trucks on our roads today are not certified to EPA’s latest NOx standard. No, real, proven and affordable electric heavy-duty option is available for scale in Colorado. But the cleanest heavy-duty truck engine in the world powered by natural gas is. "This natural gas engine is 90 percent cleaner than the EPA’s current NOx emissions requirement and 90 percent cleaner than the cleanest diesel alternative. When Renewable Natural Gas captured from agricultural, food, landfill or wastewater waste is used to fuel it, even greater CO2 and greenhouse gas emission reductions are achieved… up to 125 percent lower than the cleanest diesel. "Compared to expensive electric or fuel cell technologies still in development, investing in natural gas vehicles is the most cost-efficient solution… delivering more new vehicles and far more emission reductions than any other available alternative right here, right now, today. "Four out of every 10 Americans live in areas with air that is unhealthy to breathe…. 134 million Americans. We’re not going to change that figure anytime soon by waiting for electric technology to become available and affordable, scalable and proven, while withholding investments in other clean air alternatives like natural gas. "Why wait and let this generation of Colorado children suffer the impact of dirty air with increasing rates of asthma, heart disease and premature death? Reverse this shortsighted decision and allow VW Trust investment to convert Colorado’s fleet of work vans, freight trucks, and buses to affordable, clean, zero emission equivalent natural gas fueled vehicles.” http://twitter.com/COEnergyOffice @ColoSenGOP
From Fox News - Covington Catholic High School students smeared by mainstream media lies -- Don't expect an apology
The young men of Covington Catholic High School have been subjected to nothing short of a political inquisition because of their faith, the color of their skin and their devotion to making America great again. And they are owed an apology. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/covington-catholic-high-school-students-smeared-by-mainstream-media-lies-dont-expect-an-apology

Merry Christmas to all my family and friends. This is a great time of year regardless of exactly what Christmas means to you. What I enjoy most is the state of mind everyone around seems to share this time of year there is just something special in the air. Hearing people saying Merry Christmas just puts a smile on your face for many different reasons. It might just be that people actually say something kind to each other is what means the most. After Trump imposed massive tariffs on Chinese goods earlier this year, Beijing responded in June with what appeared to be a clever strategy: targeting retaliatory tariffs against Trump voters in rural farming communities across the United States. https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/marc-thiessen-china-tried-to-strike-at-trump-and-missed-the-mark-entirely
Sad morning for all Americans waking up to the news we lost an American hero and our 41st President. He was the first President I can remember who caused me to pay attention to national politics probably because of the desert storm war but his soft-spoken demeanor, warm smile his interactions with Barbara Bush for some reason made us all a better people because he showed us warmth and strength without any apologies. Rest in peace Mr. President.. file/ra/rayscott.20181201T154355.5tl4npe.jpeg

My welcome to Denver storm this morning. file/ra/rayscott.20181014T135604.n2mne6x.jpeg
. My opponent is attempting to twist support that I have earned from the hard-working families of Mesa County into a question of corporate support. Here is the truth. Individuals with a common interest can support elected officials by establishing a Political Action Committee (PAC), these funds come directly from the individuals within the company or shared interest, then the group votes on who they will support in an election cycle. The group awards a donation for a number of reasons and endorsements are awarded. To disparage the folks that put their personal hard earned money into supporting me or any other candidate is shameful and insulting to hard working Coloradans. I understand that he is upset that he has no measurable support but scorching the thousands of employees here in Mesa County who work hard is just no way to gain their support or ever win an election. He claims he stands on common ground with everyone; however, calling the hard-working people of Mesa County fools is division no matter what ground you stand on. file/ra/rayscott.20181008T202948.zbuvbay.jpeg
