Mid-Air Collision We were flying the same direction. I was flying the Edge slow down the middle of the runway. The foamy came up from the back and went to the left of me and crossed over in front of me. Both right wings hit destroying both planes. It was loud. Did not even see the white plane until it was too late. I was really getting use to this plane. Too bad! I am going to re-kit it with a 48" Extreme Flight Extra.
# Rough Weekend So mechanical failures resulted in a rough weekend for Tom.
# Forgot to Check the Batteries Ron forgot to check his batteries or set his timer. He did a nice landing in the trees. Our club Retrieval Team got her down with minimal damage.
# Brown Out? Flying today ended with my Ultra Stick crashing. Really there was nothing I could do. I lost all power. I watched her tip stall and crash into the woods. My friend Mark and I went for a short hike to retrieve the plane. There is was, right off the path, nose in. Believe in or not, but the prop did not break. I left my radio on and when we got to the plane, everything was working. Now I had some puffy battery in it and it was down to 88%. With that said, we think the receiver browned out because the battery went to a low voltage. I did not have a satellite on this receiver. I was planning on re-kitting this plane this spring. This was the second version of my first plane. It was pretty beat up. Lots of epoxy and Gorilla Tape holding it together. I am going to put flaps on the new one, add a new receiver, and get some new batteries.
ESC caught on fire!
My 3 year old put it into a nose dive. I think the servos were not strong enough on the elevator to pull out of the dive. This is the result.
This is what happens when you compete in Eagles Cup and there is a limbo involved!
It happens to the best of us!
Not a good landing!
60ft up. Highest retrieval our club has ever done!
Frozen Finger Casualties 2016
Some Casualties from the Frozen Fingers 2016.
This happened on a landing. The plane lost airspeed and tapped its wings. Wings were fine, fuselage, not so much.
Results of an attempted Dead Stick Landing. Recovered with minimal damage.
Lost Power! Not Good!
