Hello! I have a rec that I go back to time and time again. Though I'm sure you've probably already read it, I had to let you know, just in case (plus, I feel like everyone ought to give this one a try): "Seeking Shelter" by sphagnum, which is only 7k but I wish was 100k.

I reread TSGDT again yesterday and I was wondering if we are going to see Cheryl and Sam interact in future chapters? I get the feeling that Jake won't be allowed to see her again (or, at least, not without supervision). Are guides ever allowed to see their families or are they kept separated completely? I assume sentinels are allowed. Also, which element of writing eg world-building/characterisation/plot do you enjoy writing most and are there any details that didn't make it into the story? I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to the next chapter! <3 <3 <3
Ok, I'm gonna ignore the first half because [redacted] LOL - as for your other question:
My absolute favorite part of writing is when the perfect thing for a story suddenly occurs to me. It can happen while writing or not, but it's the best feeling. And then this line from the Producers remake always pops in my head immediately afterwards:
In the last chapter of TSGDT it's mentioned that Jake is under Sam's care and that Sam is responsible for him now that he's a confirmed guide. I was wondering what this position involves and how much power he has over Jake. Is Sam still responsible for Jake even when he's bonded to Logan? Who's responsible for the guides who have parents that aren't sentinels? Would it be the nearest relative who happens to be a sentinel? It's unbelievable how much the guides are infantalized! When Sam says that Jake needs his sentinel, I assume he's thinking that the reason Jake never settled or got a steady job is because he was floundering without his sentinel and, as a guide, was too weak to live properly on his own so, really this is for his own good. I hope I haven't asked too many questions - I'm just really curious about how this society works!
This will be expanded on in-story but I will say that perhaps Sam has less power over Jake than he is led to believe :)

Long story short, maintaining a site like takes effort and consistency - two things I can’t really dedicate to it for now. I need to figure out next steps that involve less constant oversight.
Do you have any unpublished works that you can share?
I have a few that aren’t available right now but that everyone has read and I haven’t decided what to do with them yet!

Hi! I discovered TSGDT a few months ago and I really love it! I came to care for Jake really quickly and I've re-read it at least three times if not more. To answer your question (if it's not too late) I'd personally prefer to see the next chapter first because I'm DESPERATE to know how the bonding goes down and the fic has been building up to this point for a while. At the same time, you shouldn't feel like you have to listen to me as it is your story and you should do what YOU want! Maybe you could do a one-shot before and after the next chapter? Also I wanted to ask whether it's okay for me to come here to enthuse about TSGDT and ask questions about the story?
LOL see, I have this feeling that I should pump the breaks for a moment so I can get some perspective before launching into this next part. On the other hand, all I can think about is Guides, so I don’t know what I would write otherwise.

Wow, like a genius I also forgot to post a link to chapter 16. Two TSGDT chapters in one year... a miracle, almost.
It’s too bad that another very good original fic has been abandoned, but now that I’ve realized the answer (the writer’s fanfic pseud) was staring me right in the face and they clearly don’t want the accounts linked -- I’m giving up the ghost, lol.
As for writing... would a couple of one shots give me some breathing room for TSGDT or would they just kill the momentum?
