“For the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.” (John 16:27, NIV)
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:14, NIV)
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NIV)
“For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:17, NIV)
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8, NIV)
“Some of us don’t look like what people expect a Christian woman to look like.
And if I’m honest… I’ve felt that.
Felt the quiet judgement. The assumptions. The way people can measure what they see without ever knowing the story behind it.
But what if we’ve been looking at it all wrong?
What if faith was never meant to look polished on the outside… but real on the inside?
This one is a little vulnerable for me. It touches on things that have been said to me, verses that have been used in ways that hurt, and what I’ve had to learn about how God actually sees us.
If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t quite fit the mould…or like you had to clean yourself up before coming to Him… I think this might be for you .
You can read it below. And if it speaks to you, share it with someone who might need to feel seen today ❤️”
Some women look like what people expect a Christian woman to look like.
1 Samuel 16:7b. “...The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” (NIV)
Hebrews 4:15-16. “This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (NLT)
Friends, I pray this post from “Little Sparrow Loved” encourages you, even if you're not a woman! 🙂
I don't fit the mould of a "perfect Christian" either, but I'm glad God sees my heart and loves me anyway.
Friends, God is not like humans, He sees your heart. He loves you. You don't have to be perfect to approach the throne of Grace. Like the Prodigal Son, you are welcome, just as you are. Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌
