Tessera watched the woman her hands now glowing faintly that same blue,”You humans don’t understand it… The Tesseract was merely the name Odin gave to my prison… I am Tessera… the first partner of Odin… ” She stated looking at the female before moving to touch the device,”You do realize Shield’s been working on trying to mimic these world destroying devices using the tesseract right…” The glowing blue power core cracked as blue liquid oozed out making its way back to Tessera. “So yes in a sense I am the Tesseract.”
Simmons’ gaze flickered down to the woman’s hands and her own curled around the lip of the workbench. It wasn’t as if the other had made an explicit threat- but Jemma still felt an icy determination flood her veins. Without a call from Coulson she couldn’t afford to let the device leave her lab, no matter the extenuating circumstances.
"Of- of Odin?” Well versed as she was, it only took a moment for her to place the name and the implication. Her eyes widened a fraction and it took her a moment to gather herself, but before she was able to say anything the woman- Tessera, she reminded herself- was already moving to touch the recovered device.
"-No!" Simmons exclaimed, voice unfortunately squeaking too much to carry any real weight. She placed her arm between Tessera and her target, trying to call up every reserve of courage she possessed. "The situation is unusual, but- I cannot allow you to further interfere.” Obviously the woman was mistaken; S.H.I.E.L.D.’s objective was to contain the destruction, not perpetuate it. “The consequences could be devastating- we exist to protect the world from- from objects like this.”
Tessera didn't stop the power core shatter the energy returning to the woman,"Listen here... I'll personally explain myself... but I have a serious question... Do you remember the battle of New York?" She backed away once the energy had return to her,"Phase two of the Tesseract project... was to build weapons using my power against any and all foes... Now do you think you're in a position to tell me not to take my blood back from everyone whose tried to use it as a weapon..."
