I reached my goal of reading 10 books this year, only noticing after my 11th!
The 11th, which was “Our Bloody Pearl” by @brynwrites !!
It was really really good, I couldn’t put it down reading it in class, at night, during the morning, when my friends and family were trying to talk to me…
The main characters are so realistic, flawed and well written they really pull you in (much like Perle’s song!)
The softness of Perle and DeJean’s relationship alongside the intensity of the plot is so perfect.
I seriously recommend everyone read this!
Ps: it’s got diversityyyy
It’s a perfectly rainy, gloomy day in california and the absolute perfect day to stay inside with a cozy cup of tea, get some studying done, and listen to some music. As much as I love going out with my friends, I have to say that I love being such a homebody. I’m hoping there are more fall days like this to come!

How to...FAIL (not your conventional studyblr post)
While there are many success posts on studyblrs, I have rarely seen one talking about failure. Unfortunately, I think we sometimes value success so much that we forget about failure. Failure is an inevitable part of success. So, without further ado, here are 3 steps on how to fail.
1) The 24 hour rule
Give yourself 24 hours to grieve over your failure. Yes, its okay to break down and cry in bed! You have tried (so very hard) and your efforts seemed to have gone to waste. There is no point in wasting energy by forcing yourself to be optimistic immediately. Be sad. Be angry. You are entitled.
2) Reflect
Your 24 hours are up. Now is the time to get over it. Yes, you have failed but are you really going to give up? Really? Not the slightest chance in hell. So grab a pen and look over your errors. Detach yourself from the emotional aspect and analyze your failure. What went wrong? What should you do next time? What can you improve on?
3) Get back up and try again
It’s time to dust off your scraped knees and get up again. Because who cares if you fail? Nobody succeeds on the first try. You have no place to go but up. Now you know that you capable of handling failure and getting pass it. Remember, failure is dead but you are alive. In the end, the key to success is failure.
DISCLAIMER: This post is not sponsored by any company. I’ve just found some websites and information that can be used for students. Please research them thoroughly before buying/applying/signing up to anything please! If you use something that is great, please let me know so I can add it to the list!
MYUNIDAYS - Verify your student status and get discounts to lots of shops and restaurants, as well as offers and deals, including half price Apple Music student account, and 10% Asos discount. UNIDAYS can also be used in many different countries including the UK and the US. They also have an app which you can be useful when using certain discounts in shops and restaurants (some can only be used online and vice versa).
NUS - Similar to UNIDAYS, but you have to pay for an NUS card/membership. They have some pretty good discounts for various things. Again, there is an NUS app.
SAVE THE STUDENT - everything you want to know about student life, summed up in one website! Information on student finance, budgeting and saving money. Great for if you’re living at university.
STUDENT BEANS - Similar to UNIDAYS and NUS. Again, lots of discounts and you can register free. They also advertise jobs, work experience, etc.
THE STUDENT ROOM - Forums for students, which also offers lots of advice on various topics such as student finance and applying to university.
THIS IS MONEY - Some helpful student budgeting tips.
BRIGHT KNOWLEDGE - Lots of information about different subjects and careers.
SORTED FOOD - Cheap but delicious recipe ideas!
SAVE THE GRADUATE - Helpful website for graduate students, with information about jobs and further study.
BBC GOOD FOOD - More cheap recipe ideas for students.
APPLE EDUCATION - Buy Apple products using your student information.
SUPER COOK - Find recipes using what ever you have in your cupboard!
STUDENT PRICE CARD - For students in Canada, you can get discounts (10 - 15% usually) on shops, when you pay for a card/membership.
BUDGET BYTES - Delicious recipes on a budget!
This is not a complete list, but I’ll try to add to it through out the year!
i hope this meme isn’t dead yet lmao
Always!!!

The Early Modern Period is such an interesting topic, but very complex as well - I needed three pages just to cover the basics, and now my hand is cramping. If I didn’t make handwritten notes, I wouldn’t remember anything though, so it’s necessary! Have a productive week, friends :)
