Michelle! Slow down. I have a stress fracture.
That’s me on bass. Playing with CeDell Davis. Bellinzona Blues Festival. 1995. I had no idea this video even existed.
I remember playing bass behind CeDell back in Arkansas. Hot as a $2 pistol, and not one promoter in Arkansas would book it. Butch Stone comes to mind. Went to Italy, Germany, Netherlands, and Switzerland...but no gig in Arkansas.. Don't think, AR, that I'm mellowing with age. You fuckers better wake up. ... I still live by it, brother. Because its true. I sat with CeDell Davis in my house in Mayflower for 8 hours on the phone.... Hot Springs, Fayetteville, Fort Smith, even fucking Helena wouldn't book it. They booked him once with a black Iowa militant show pony on the main stage at KBBF and it was failing, miserably. I had to watch in horror...but 2 people out of 5000 in the audience spoke out and said, "Dale is right here." (Mark Simpson and my Dad.) CeDell said, "Well get him up here. I want that!" I got up, took the show pony's guitar out of his hands, and CeDell and I went to boogieland. The crowd went nuts on the first chord. As far as I'm concerned, I've topped out on politics and societies when it comes to music. Fuck this planet, I play the blues.
This is not what the cover my album will look like.
Facts: We played two bands from Halifax this time around.
Working on getting my solo album out soon. You can hear a song from it on this thing.
Found this 45 today. The label is gold haha if only the song title we’re applicable to the man…
If only....No!
I got my advanced copy of the new Illinois John Fever record in the mail yesterday. If you like some gnarly country Rolling Stones and Dave Edmunds and crazy Iowa hillbilly rants from an overworked and underpaid blue collar psycho, then this is your "exile on main street!" It is to be played real loud too.
The Country record Eric Clapton will never make! Thank God. (not Eric....the Other One.)

I have a vision of a spiritual record. Old School. If any girls in the choir want to sing old gospel music. I'm auditioning. Serious God fearing young Ladies, please.
I’ll be in Holly Springs this weekend remembering Junior.
This is an early morning "wing it" session.. but for a worthy cause.
In case you don't know, May 12- 14 in Holly Springs Mississippi is the 1st annual Jr. Blues! I Loved JR and I hope you will join us for a celebration of a life that changed the face of rock and roll. For real. https://sonandfriendsofjuniorkimbrough.wordpress.com/
As much as I think I want to go back to Arkansas, Detroit, Michigan has showed me some ropes. I love the Motor City!
I used to think, I wanted to be born in the 50's. Now I wouldn't change a thing. How's that?
