Life of Worship ~ Part 1 [Dave Patterson]

- We were made for a Life of Worship. - God has made a way for us to be restored in his presence. - Psalm 92:13 - Flourish - to spread your wings and fly - we enter the presence of the king with singing. -“his courts with praise” - we want people to live their life connected to God. - God is omnipresent - Genesis 4:16 - when you’re disconnected from his voice your life turns into aimless wondering. - Exodus 25:8 - face to face - penium ( presence to presence) - the tabernacle of David - a place of worship - Acts 15:13-17 - it should be easy and simple for others to experience God - whenever there’s an absense of the word of God, bondage is present. Your song disappears and your joy diminishes. - “how can we sing the songs of zion in a land of captivity” - whenever God pours out, there’s a new sound. - when God puts creativity in an individual then nothing not even imprisonment can keep it in bondage. - God hears the faintest cry. - Psalm 40. - the worship points to the singer of the song - worship is the strongest evangelistic tool. - hosea 6:2

1. Serve God 2. Love his bride (the church) - be intentional about loving his church. 3. Get involved with community - 2 way street. Not talking and talking and not listening. - Romans 12:9

Good or God?

- we have a reference point for good and God has one too. They're different. Genesis 3:6 Proverbs 14:12 Jeremiah 21:8 2 Corinthians 11:3 Genesis 3:1-3 ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD. Hebrews 2:1

- Your story has the power to change people's lives because it's God's story and you're in it - a story doesn't have much weight on it until God shows up in the story whether that is a blessing or a divine meeting - there's nothing that disqualifies you from God's love - people relate more to your brokenness than your victory - the struggle with the enemy is real - whatever you agree with determines your future

What is the church's response to racism? - ethnic cleansing - it's human nature to want to be better than someone else JOHN 4:1-6 A. ENCOUNTER - it's hard to hate someone if you know their story. - have an encounter because it teaches you and allows you to ignore racism. - treat people like people - take into consideration the obvious. Be you. - ENCOURAGE THEM. YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIX THEIR PROBLEMS.

How to deal with Difficult People by Tim Nalley

1. We need to see difficult people through Gods perspective. Romans 3:23

We all fall short to Gods standard. Our job is to show his loving kindness to others. Is it possible that God has put difficult people in our lives to show them and lead them to a savior? God gives us opportunities to love our enemies because he knows we can do it. Loving our enemies actually works on ourselves.

2. We need to control out internal conversation.

We need to control what we think when we’re angry or frustrated. Instead of getting mad, treat people with kindness. They will experience Gods love.

3. Walk in Freedom through Gods forgiveness. Matthew 18:25-33
