“When I was a little girl, my mama had a crystal pitcher and glasses. I thought they were so beautiful. One summer afternoon she made some iced drinks in that pitcher. As I watched the  reflections of the summer sunlight on the ice and crystal, I thought it would be even more beautiful if it were in pieces. So when she went into the other room, I broke one of the glasses, but in doing so, I cut my hand.

My mother came running back and found me holding my hand and crying,  "R-ko, R-ko, what happened?” She thought one of the glasses had fallen and broken and was worried about my cut hand. I did not tell her otherwise.“
