‘Cause I’m just sitting in the dark In disbelief that this is real
Back when I was 17/18, I had a lot of anger. I was incredibly depressed, self harming, lost. Sometimes I feel like the only thing that got me through was Linkin Park. Hearing Chester screaming out his own pain and anger in One Step Closer and Crawling made me feel less alone. He had the words I didn't. I felt understood. I've never been hit so hard by the death of a celebrity before. But I think I've never connected with one as much as I did with Chester. I'll never not miss him.
Thank you for sharing your story. It was so beautifully written, I could feel the pain in your words. I, and so many others, will surely to empathize not only with your plight, but with the connection you felt to Chester and LP. My hope is that you’ve found your way out of the anger and depression. Although losing Chester has left an emptiness that will be difficult or impossible to fill, I hope that you’ve found light and happiness in your life that helps carry you through it. Keep his words with you and know that you are loved. Be sure to send an update on how you are doing.

“Do it for Chester!” is the only motivation we all need, tbh.
I will never forget the sound of heartbreak in Mike’s voice while he sang this song for Chester.
The haunting “Looking For An Answer” would be an incredible and memorable single. I would love to hear it finished by the band – a labor of sorrow and love in a process they plan to share with the entire LP family… A literal way of healing and working through the pain of losing Chester.
To see what this song becomes would be amazing, but I hope that they have Mike’s live performance on the B side.
Nothing can replace this moment, and I know I’m not alone in saying that it will stay with me forever.
