Jacob looked at her for a moment, and he wasn’t really sure what this meant but he had to deal with it. He stood there looking at anything but her for a moment, “Well why? I mean your fear is losing me as a friend right? Or getting hurt? The only way to overcome the fear is trying.” He sighed and nodded, “I can give you time but you can’t kiss me again until you have figured out what you want.” He said as he pulled away from the kiss.
Rebecca glanced around the place for a moment, she still had a lot of packing to do and she needed to get it done. She shrugged, “Both I guess. I don’t want to lose you as a friend and I don’t want to get hurt again. You say that like it’s so so easy.” She stated as she ran a hand through her hair for a moment, “I guess you are right there and it’s only fair.” She said as she moved away and fell the bed for a moment, “Don’t worry i am nearly finished packing and then I will be out of your hair.”
Jake was packing up the boxes, he wasn’t sure how to even feel right now because everything was up and down, they had a good friendship but his feelings always got in the way if he was honest. “I mean I guess I understand that but like I said this room will always be here for you if you need it.” He sighed, “Yet you know I am not going to hurt you Bex, I never have and never will.” He stated.
As he stood there he heard her speak and he shook his head for a moment, he sighed, “You would never lose me as a friend, I promise, i don’t plan to let that happen, you mean the world to me so why would i let that happen.” He sighed as he heard her words and nodded, feeling her lips on his, he tired to keep his feelings down and kissed her back softly.
Rebecca knew that Jake had a point, but her son was more important to her and not her love life that could easily ruin things for her. She knew how shit her life had been the last few week and she didn’t need any more of that. She sighed, “I know you won’t jake. Doesn’t change how I am feeling right now, the fear of everything, which makes anything cant happen. Just let me have my time.” She stated and heard his words but decided not to listen to what he was saying and kept kissing him softly holding onto him.
Jake twiddled with her fingers for a moment and then glanced back at the girl for a moment, it was like his life was saying there is no meaning without her but he also knew maybe he had to let her decision run over his for a now. “Well like I said you could always stay here.” He stated running a hand through his hair before sighing a little, “Rebecca please, why are you trying to avoid it? Why?”
Rebecca glanced over at her best friend for a couple of minutes she felt her nerves run through her, maybe they should try it, maybe they she should give in and try to see what it would be like to date the guy but she really couldn’t do that right now, there was a lot going on right nwo and everything was too much. “No Jake, I have to go. I need to have my own place.” She said looking down for a moment, “Because I am scared, I have been hurt before, I don’t want to get hurt again.” She stated looking at him before sighing, he was everything to her and losing him would be like losing her whole world.
She stood there as she finished packing the box and looked up at him, “Look you know me? You know me well enough that I am not a person who goes weak, I am not a person to do stuff to risk everything. I try my hardest to make smart decisions so no one gets hurt. I don’t want to get hurt again. And I don’t want to lose my best friend. So I do things smartly so I can protect myself.” She sihged getting closer before looking at him, “But just because I am doing that doesn’t mean I don’t have feelings for you, I just need time.” She said as she moved closer and softly kissed him.
Jake stood there looking over at the girl as he sighed for a moment shaking his head, “But how is this meant to work when I have feelings for you, how am I meant to say i can easily hang out out with you when all I can think about is kissing you and pulling you in for a hug any time soon. I understand but I hope you understand that I can’t help but have feelings for you.” He stated looking over at the girl for a moment as he sighed and nodded, “If you know you like me, why can’t you give me a chance, I am not going to be the one to hurt you, I am going to be by your side and support you why can’t you just try it?” He asked as he sighed again looking down for a moment.
Rebecca was glancing over at him, the guy who was her best friend, the guy who she had feelings for, the guy who probably made everything better for her.but she couldn’t go there right now. “Well i mean you won’t be around me as much as you are now. I’m sorry, I understand that I do, but I can’t do this right now.” She stated as she started packing things into a box. She shook her head, “Jake, look I can’t, i just need to look after my little boy and be on my own right now, I need that independence, I need to be okay do this alone and not think about how I feel for someone. I can’t give this a try right now.”
Jake didn’t like the tension that was building up between them already but he knew it was going to be there, he didn’t want the two of them to leave, he wanted to spend the rest of his life with the two of us. He listened to her and smiled as he looked at the frame before turning to face her as he heard the words and shrugged, “What is there to say Rebecca? I mean I don’t want to lose you and I don’t want things to be awkward between us, but you know how I feel, I want you in my life and I want you both here, I want you to be part of my family. I have feelings for you Rebecca and you being not here isn’t going to change that, you should know that.”
Rebecca was standing there looking over at her best friend and she just felt tension and she was stuck because she hated it and she didn’t want to even hurt him because they had been friends for far too long to do that to him but she couldn’t be in this situation. She sighed, “You’re not going to lose me Jake, you’re my best friend but I don’t think I can reciprocate those feelings right now, right now i just need to think about my baby. Jake, I can’t.” She sighed looking over at him before getting closer to him, “ I just don’t think it’s something I can do right now.” She said as she took a hold of his hand, “Listen I know i like you. I do, but I can’t think about loving someone right now.” She stated before sighing for a moment, was this it, was this the last time she would ever see him, had she just fucked up the best thing she had going for her right now, her closest friends in her life and losing him would ruin everything. She needed to move out though, she couldn’t stay there whilst she had feelings for him wasn’t a good idea.
Jake didn’t want Rebecca to leave, it was the last thing he wanted, but he knew it was important for her and Benji that he had to let her go if it was what she wanted. He was glad he had time to talk to Rebecca before he never saw her, or at least not every day, this girl was the love of his life yet she didn’t know that and he wasn’t ready to admit that. He nodded as he turned round to get the stuff of her desk and put it in the box before picking up a frame of him, Benji and Rebecca in of when Benji was a few week old. As he stopped to heard her question she looked at him and smiled briefly. “Of course we can just talk, what do you want to talk about?”
Rebecca could feel there was going to be some kind of tension between them but she didn’t want there to be she wanted it to be sorted but she also wanted to leave and be on good terms with him before she moved out. Looking at him with the frame in his hand she smiled, “I remember that day. Us, we need to talk this out, because I know it’s still slightly awkward between us and I really don’t want to leave with it like this.”
Rebecca had asked Jake if she could move out, why he didn’t know until the other night, not because of the baby screaming and crying and waking the two of them of up but because their feelings for each other was driving her crazy. Of course he understood and he wasn’t going to stop her but he wished he could persuade her to stay. He had falling in love with little Benjamin that he didn’t want them to leave but he knew it was for the best. So he helped pack up the boxes for her and as she got Benji asleep, he saw her return,·“Okay, so what do you want in this big box?” He asked looking over at her, they had been best friends for years that he didn’t want things to ever be awkward between them.·
Rebecca knew moving out of Jake’s apartment was going to be hard, not because of how much stuff she had to take with her but it was going to be hard leaving her best friend behind. She knew why she was doing this and it was best for both her and Benji,· but he was asleep so for now, she had time to talk to Jake. She stood there in the room as she heard the question and she smiled.·“Oh that box, probably stuff off that desk.” She stated looking over at him for a moment,·“Can we just not pack right now and talk for a moment.”
Rebecca stood there trying to ride the pain out for a moment, she needed it to go, but it wasn't not for a moment but then suddenly it passed for a while. Standign thre she looked up before looking up at Jake, "Oh your dad phoned that's cool. Yeah. Just a contraction." She stated looking at him.
Jake glanced over at the girl keeping a close eye on the girl for a moment, truth be told he was worried but he had to be there for her for a moment or all the way through this. "Oh Okay, does that mean the baby's coming?"
Rebecca sighed putting a hand through her hair for a moment and nodded a little, "Yes it means the baby is coming but there is no need to rush, not until the contractions are four minutes apart or when my waters have broken."
Jake put his hand through his messy hair and listened to her and sighed a little, "Okay, well you know if you need anything, just ask, but let me take you to the sofa." He stated taking a hold of her and walking her towards the sofa. "Take a seat, I will run and get the bag ready for when this happens." He stated smiling at his best friend.
Rebecca looked around for a moment, trying to keep her mind occupied as she listened to Jake speak and sighed a little, "Jake all we need to do is remain calm and we'll be fine." She stated taking a seat on the sofa, "Can I just say thank you for doing this and being here."
Jake glanced over at Rebecca trying to put a smile on his face and hide the fear he had deep inside piling up as he worried about what can happen. "I can try and remain calm." He said as he ran to get the bag and brought it back down ready before sitting next to her, "Bex, I wouldn't have it any other way, you're my best friend and always will be." He stated looking over at him.
Rebecca sat there on the sofa feeling the baby move and she was getting uncomfortable, she wasn't sure how long she could take this but she was going to have to try to deal with it if she wanted things to be okay. She smiled over at Jake, "Yeah but this isn't your responsibility." She stated taking his hand and smiled, "Seriously it means a lot." She stated before a sharp pain thrived up her body.
Jake glanced over at her and he could see that she was trying to get comfortable and he knew he was having to remain calm but for how long could he stay calm for, he wanted to be there for her, he wanted to help her but it was hard. He sighed, "Rebecca does it matter who's responsibility it is? Aidens not here and i am and I chose to take on this responsibility and I want to be the one to do it." He nodded as she took his hand before feeling it be squeezed and he sighed looking over at her. "How bad is the pain?"
Rebecca took a breath as she looked over at Jake for a moment before hearing his words and shook her head, "Jake, but you have so much ahead of you and this is your place and I still feel like a burden." She stated running a hand through her hair looking at him for a moment before taking a release once the pain wore off, "A little stronger then the first one." She stated sighing for a moment.
Jake kept a hold of her hand for a brief moment before glancing over at her again trying to keep a brave face on him, "You're not a burden Rebecca, you're my best friend and i wouldn't have it any other way then to be by your side through all of this." He stated smiling a little, "Well do you want all thsi to be over? Because my sister said the way to speed up you waters breaking, was to walk around and dance or do exercise. If you like you can try that." he state placing a hand on her bump and felt the baby move.
Rebecca felt his movements and it was like they were together and she was definitely scared where this was going, he was her best friend, did they need that drama all over again? She chose to nod and not reply to that before listening to him as he placed his hand on her bump, "Well if that's the case, how about we go for a walk around the block and then see what happens after that?"
Jake looked over at her, her face was perfection of beauty and he loved her but he didn't want his feelings to be known as of right now due to the fact that she was about to have a baby and he was the only one by her side at that current moment. "A Walk around the block seems perfect, let's go." He got up before holding out his hands to help her up.
Rebecca threw her head back for a moment and nodded looking at him as she got up with the help of him, she could feel the strain that was but she was ready to have this baby and if a walk would help start labor quicker she would do it. She slipped her shoes on and a jacket on before opening his front door as she walked out with him, "It's a lovely day not going to.." She was soon cut off when she felt another contraction so she just breathed through it.
Jake slipped his leather jacket on before he put his shoes on and then followed her out of the door before seeing her stop and he rubed her back, "Hey just think it's all for the best, if you're worried." He stated looking at her, "I will be here all the way through." He stated as he put a hand through her hair.
Rebecca watched him for a moment as she breathed through the contraction and nodded, "I know and I will be fine for now, I hope but please just be there either way." She nodded looking over at him as they started to walk down the street for a moment.
Jake kept an eye on her as they walked down the road, he was scared, what if her waters broke in public, that would scare him more. He followed her and nodded, "You will be either way, I promise you sweetheart." He smiled as he escorted around the road before they made it back to his, so he opened the door letting her in first.
Rebecca she followed him on the route around the block, whilst her baby was moving but she was just ready to give birth now but she couldn't just rush it. As they made it back to his she felt relief and she walked into the kitchen to get a bottle of water out of the fridge before glancing at him for a moment, the contractions had started again but this time were stonger and she sighed looking down, before letting it go, "Well lets just hope your idea was right." She stated as she felt another contraction and she sighed a little for a moment.
Jake walked into the house placing his jacket onto the sofa before hearing the girls voice and could tell the pain was over whelming her and he rushed into the kitchen to see that she was in more pain, "It looks like they are coming faster, let me call the hospital to find out." He stated as he dialled the hospital number to find out what was going on. He walked back to her once he had hung up, "Okay, Rebecca, they said since the contractions are getting closer and closer together, that I should take you to the hospital. So we're going." He stated
Rebecca out a hand through her hair as she tried to breath through the pain as she nodded at Jake who soon walked off, she was scared, what was going to happen, she had no clue what to do any more and she hated the pain. As Jake returned she sighed and let out a breath and heard his words and nodded, "Okay, let's go then." She stated placing a hand on her stomach as she walked towards the door before opening it and walked with him to his car. Once he had unlocked it and opened the door, she got in and sat there putting her seat belt on by feeling a contraction so she lent forward to breath through the pain.
Jake looked at her and nodded as she agreed to go to the hospital and walked towards the door with her, he wanted to make sure she was okay so he opened the car door for her and let her get in. As he closed it he walked round to his side and got in quickly, "Okay I am going to get you to the hospital as fast as possible, you'll be fine."
Rebecca sat here breathing through the pain and looked at him before shouting, "Just get me there, just hurry up." She shouted looking down before another contraction came on and she screamed, "Fucking hell, this needs to fucking stop." She cried.
Jake sat in the car and heard her scream and he felt guilty he hated seeing her like that but he couldn't do much aout it, "Hey, calm down, you'll be okay, we'll be there in a few minutes." He droe fast enough to be at the hospital and parked in five minutes. As he got there he parked up and opened her door and helped her out, before walking her towards the entrance, seeing her in pain was horrible but he got her a wheelchair and then booked them in.
Rebecca sighed as he drove to the hospital, she could tell he was willing to get a fine or a ticket to get her to the hospital but they were there but the pain wasn't going and she wanted to cry. As he opened her door for her she looked over at Jake as he helped her towards the wheel chair but when she was walking a contraction came through and it was hard to walk but she was in the chair she held on for dear life until they were booked in and taken to a hospital room and waited for her midwife to show up.
Jake pushed her to the room they were assigned and he could till sense her pain, "Rebecca, you need to breath breath through the pain, you'll be fine, you will be okay." He said trying to calm her down before he got her into the room which looked as daunting as possible. Seeing the midwife come in she looked at her and smiled, "Hello Rebecca, you mus be Jake." Stated the midwife and he nodded, "So how long has the contractions been going on for." She asked and he looked at the midwife, "I'm going to say three or four hours now." He stated as he helped Rebecca get onto the bed.
Rebecca looked around the room and then back up at Jake as she breathed through the pain and sighed. As the midwife walked in she put a brief smile on her face then listened to them speak and nodded. As Jake helped her on the bed, she screamed out in a pain. The midwife looked at her, "Rebecca, it's going to be okay, let me see how dialated you are, your waters haven't broken yet have they?" She heard the midwife and shook her head, "No not yet, how do I get them to break?" She asked before the midwife said, "After I have seen how dialated you are, you could bounce on a gym ball it helps trust me."
Jake stood there by her side listening to everything and he wondered how long they would be in the room for a moment, as he let the midwife check out how far along she was, "Well you're 3cm dialated, you have a while to go unfortuantely, don't worry you'll be fine, we'll make sure of it." The midwife stated before he looked at her and he took a hold of her hand, "Ready to get up, let's get htis going." He stated as the midwife brought a gym ball in and he helped her to sit on it.
Rebecca kept an eye on Jake as she listened to the midwife and she nodded, this was going to be a long day and she knew it and she sighed a little before looking up at Jake and nodded, before getting up and going to sit on the ball that had been brought to her and she sat down on it before bouncing on it slowly hoping it would help. Half an hour later she sat on the ball and felt the pin get harder but before she knew it, her waters broke and she screamed a little as she held on to Jake to make sure she didn't slip.
Jake watched her as she bounced on the ball and they kept an conversation going to try and take her mind off the pain and he knew it was only going to get worse. As the time went by he looked her before he heard her scream before he saw the water on the floor and he held on to her as he helped her up, "Come on Rebecca! You need to hel me get you to the bed." He stated before presing the button for the midwife.
Rebecca took deep breaths as she got up feeling all gross with her legs soaking wet from everything and she felt like she should be having a bath right now. She nodded, "Jake.... I can't do this, I can't." She cried as she got on to the bed and tried to stay calm.
Jake looked over at her, "You can do this, I have faith in you." He stated as the midwife walked in, "Hi, So Rebecca, her waters broke." He stated to the midwife who soon went over to her, "OKay Rebecca now that means this is going to move faster and hopefully quicker, let me see if you'e dialated more." She stated and he watched her and he waited, "Well it looks like you've progressed quicker, you're 9cm dialated, not long now sweet. I will be back in a few minutes, just get her some cold towels Jake and be by her side. You're going to have to push very soon."
Rebecca glanced over at Jake and sighed shaking her head before she saw the Midwife and sh wanted to close her eyes and she knew she couldn't, she felt a sharp pain run through her body and she grabbed a hold of Jakes hand and squeezed it tight, she nodded, "How long do I have to wait, because this fucking kills."
Jake saw her pain and he could tell she was tired and as he rain to get cloths he heard her question. He walked in and heard the midwife say, "It can eb anything betweeen five minutes and an hour but I am sure you'll be ready sooner then you think."
Rebecca sighed and listened to the midwife, "Jake, you're nto going anywhere are you? I need you here, I need you by my side all the way through this." She sighed looking at him and the midwife, "Okay." She said as she breathed through the pain of the next contraction.
Jake glanced over at her for a moment, "Rebecca, I'm not going anywhere i promise you. I will b by your side through all of this." He stated as he could tell the pain was getting harder for her but he didn't change anything. The midwife returned and checked again to see if she dialated any further, "Looks like it's time, are you ready to push?" The midwife asked.
Rebecca glanced over at Jake and nodded as she whimpered for a moment the pain was unbearable, she heard her midwife and she cried, "No." She said looking down before hearing the midwife, "You will be fne and you have to this baby wants to come out. You will be fine just wait for me to say to you."
Jake watched her and looked at her, "Rebecca you can do it just be strong." He stated before the midwife said to push, "Come on Bex."
Rebecca looked over at Jake and then the midwife and she pushed hard and she was doing that for about two hours before she gave out one last push. She sighed a little taking a deep breath as she heard a baby cry and the midwife stated, "Congratulations, it's a boy." Rebecca found herself crying full blown tears.
Jake was there all the way through the birth and he smiled when the baby was born and cried, happy that there was no problems with the baby at all. As he heard it was a boy he kissed Rebecca on the top of her head before looking at the midwife as he took a hold of the baby and handed him to Rebecca. The midwife asked, "Do you have a name for him yet?"
Rebecca laid there on the bed and sighed a little and felt the kiss but ignored it, she took a hold of him and smiled, this was her son, this was her baby boy and she was going to love him forever, "Yes. Benjiman Lucas Clarins"
Jake sat there, he was still getting used to the fact that his best friend was pregnant and was about to have a baby, it was something he still had to adjust to. He shook his head and looked at the girl, “By the time he or she turns sixteen, even if they did want to meet their dad, it would be too late for them to change to be like them. This kid is going to love you and will turn out to be like you and as smart as you. You will be fine Rebecca, just have more faith in yourself.” He stated looking down for a moment before looking over at her and shaking his head for a moment before stroking her shoulder like old times, “Of course you will have me by your side, I’m not going anywhere unless you wan me to go. Let’s just promise each other that we won’t avoid each other again no matter what happens?”
Rebecca was glancing around the room for a moment, she could feel the nerves still sitting there but then she could also feel her baby move. Why did he have to say all these sweet words, words that made her heart warm, “Why do you have to be right Jake? I am not that smart and you should know that by now.” She laughed a little looking over at him and kissed his cheek, not meaning anything by i just a way of saying thank you. “I am glad you will be and no I wouldn’t want you to go, why would I want that? I can promise that.”
Jake laid back on the bed for a moment, he wasn’t sure what was going on and why his head was going fuzzy with feelings but he was ignoring them to focus on them for now and let Rebecca feel like things were back to normal. He heard her words and took a hold of her hands, “Rebecca, he;s not going to be around you baby right? So there isn’t a way they will take on his personality and I know you wouldn’t allow that to happen. Aiden was a dick and he shouldn’t have done what he did.” He stated looking over at her and shook his head, “Bex, you know it;s my fault, I should have reached out first and even you know that Your best friend is not leaving you to go through this alone. I promise you.”
Rebecca glanced over at Jake for a moment, she felt her smile grow, just being around him made her feel strong again, he was really her best friend, they had been best friends for at least too long that she couldn’t remember a day without him in her life. She shook her head, “ Jake how can you be so sure though? What if when this kid turns sixteen she or he wants to know his or her dad and then find out they are a lot like him or they turn out like that, what happens then?” She sighed looking down for a moment shaking her head, “Jake... I am sorry too. Now I am glad to hear that I will always have my best friend by my side all the time and through all this.” She smiled leaning in to hug him as she placed her hand on her bump for a moment.
Rebecca looked like an angle laying there and Jake wasn’t able to hide how he felt but he had to, he needed their friendship. He could feel the baby kick and it was amazing to feel he just wished Aiden never left Rebecca to deal with this on her own. “You’re kid will grow up to be as amazing as you and this baby is going to love you.” He nodded looking at her for a moment and heard her words and looked down, it was his fault they hadn’t really spoken since. “Rebecca.. It’s my fault okay, I avoided you in my own place because I was scared, our friendship is not going to be over, not if I have a say in it.” He wasnt quite ready to discus his feelings right now, he wanted things to go back to normal first.
Rebecca sat there on the bed with a hand resting on her bump, it was still so surreal that there was a baby in there, all she wished was that Aiden was there to see it all happen. It was something she had to understand that he wasn’t going to comeback. She laughed, “Well I know that or hope that, but what if he or she has Aidens personality and they just end up ditching the person they’re with in the future, that’s not what i want for my kid.” She stated looking down for a moment. She shook her head and looked over at him, “Jake... Don’t blame yourself, I mean we are both at fault I could have said something but I stayed as quiet as you did. Well I really hope not because I need my best friend, I can’t do this without him.”
Jake was standing there looking over at Rebecca as he did that, his feelings were growing stronger and he didn’t want to feel them not right now anyway. He knew their friendship was the most important thing to the both of them but he was slightly worried that it had grown stronger then a friendship. As he heard her excitement, he followed through and walked over as she placed his hand on her bump and he was in shock, “Woah, that’s crazy.” He smiled softly, “I can feel it. It’s amazing, that’s your baby inside of you.” He said smiling looking at her. He walked around the bed and sat on the other side next to her, “So are you ready for this, being a mother and all?”
Rebecca laid on the bed for a moment, her hand was placed on her bump on top of Jakes hand and she felt he baby kick one more time and it was all a little too much. She right now wanted to mend her friendship with Jake, it was the most important part of her life and he really meant the world to her. She looked over at him and nodded, “It’s really crazy tell me about it, I never imagined this, it’s all very weird and crazy.” She stated looking at him for a moment and nodded, “It’s my baby and it’s very worrying and exciting at the time. She looked at him for a moment and nodded, “I think so I am very nervous though. What I am not ready for is this, our friendship ending or going to shit because of that one kiss three months ago.” She stated looking over at him.
Jake was sitting in the living room, he was watching the news, he had been avoiding Rebecca as much as he possibly could within the time and he wasn’t sure what to do anymore. He wasn’t sure what to do anymore, her whole life had changed in the last few months and he knew that and he needed to be there for her. As he sat there looking at the screen, he heard her shout, immediate reaction was to worry. He ran upstairs towards Rebecca’s room, “What’s up?” He said before walking into the room, “What’s going on Rebecca?”
Rebecca sat on her bed, feeling her baby kick and it felt weird yet great, her mind was going to different points, could she keep him, could she give him to another family who could look after it. She wasn’t sure anymore, she felt lost. She knew her and Jake needed to fix their friendship in order for anything to work out between them or this whole family. As she heard his voice she laughed a little as she could tell the worry, “Hey no need to worry Jakey, just you need to feel this. Come here.” She said as she took a hold of his hand and placed it on her bum, “Can you feel that?”
Seven months had gone very fast, she had been staying at Jakes for the last three months and she still felt like a burden. She knew he was fine with her staying but things had still been a little awkward between them since she kissed him the day he let her stay but he didn’t want that to get in the way of anything and she sighed. She was sitting in the room she was staying in for now, and just t thinking about her ex and thinking about Jake, she wished her life could be normal. Her parents were disappointed in her, kept telling her she would never make lawyer now. She sighed as she tapped her stomach for a moment, “You’ve got me into a lot of mess little one.” She sighed patting her now grown belly sighing for a moment, she told the doctor at the last scan she didn’t want to know the sex until the baby was born so she couldn’t even think about that. She sat there before looking down for a moment before feeling something. Her eyes lit up realizing it was the baby kicking and she smiled softly. She shouted, “JAKE!” She knew he would want to feel this, “You might want to come.” She said as she started to feel her babies first kicks.
Jake could tell she just needed the comfort of someone right now, he didn’t know if her kissing him was just the need of comfort, the need of someone’s attention but he was her best friend and he was going to stand by her side even if it was wrong. He sighed and nodded before kissing her passionately and smiled softly a little, it was kind of nice.
Rebecca kissed him for a moment longer before pulling away looking at him, she put a hand through her hair, “I’m sorry that shouldn’t have happened, we shouldn’t have done that.” She said putting her hand through her hair looking over at him, things were a mess in her life and in some ways Jake had been the only one who had made things clear for her right now “Look you said I could stay here, I would love to stay here, but I need to find my own place, I need to make space for me and my baby. I can’t be a burden here.” She realized she needed to focus on what was best for her and her baby.
