nervousness was a understatement to describe how sik was feeling, the whole time he’d been on his back in his bed and it amazes him how he didn’t drop his phone on his face the whole time. the realization that he’s been smiling at his damn phone like a high schooler rolling about their bed while speaking to their crush—holy shit, what—he stops because he’s actually rolling around then blinks and stares at his phone, reminded of the many messages he almost sent by accident before he’s quickly deleting it. he’s thankful tae-luc didn’t ask, not even once, when he’s certain that if the other had been watching, the chat bubble that indicates one is typing was popping up then disappear, then again, they were writing a series of text not just a coupe, so it wasn’t obvious, right?
sik finally rolls off his bed—literally, rolling and landing on his feet before he stands up straight, eyes glancing at the mirror where his reflection stares right back at him. he tilts his head before glancing down at his attire. it’s just tae-luc, he shouldn’t change or get ready because they’re just… hanging out right? sure, that’s why sik’s running into his closet and tossing clothes aside. grabbing a pair of black excessively ripped jeans that hug his thighs just right, a black hoodie donned with a black long jacket, a yakuza bomber jacket symbol on the back of it as he fixes attired and strides into his bathroom. his hair’s disheveled, literally all over the place before he’s combing and styling it. a dash of the hair spray and he’s done, styled to the side slightly with the peek of forehead. his gaze shifts to his glasses and a set of colored contact lenses and opts for some grey contacts.
once he’s finished, his nerves get the best of him again. he can only distract himself so much—he takes one more look at himself in the mirror, deeming himself decent despite how he basically looks like he’s ready for ‘another hangout’ maybe a little too dressed up, well… if tae-luc says something, sik can simply say he just got back from some errand, yeah. he breathes in then out before he’s doing his best not to seem so eager as he strides casually towards the door before opening it, a grin matching the one on the other’s that he can see by the lift of his cheeks brings a grin of his own on sik’s face, he leans against the door frame coolly before he’s shifting to the side. “ if it ain’t the famous asshat— ” of mine. he suddenly wants to say but catches himself before he does so. “ come in before your fans realize that it’s you ” he teases as he holds the door for the other.
a tsk of his tongue at his words followed by a short chuckle. “ asshat. i’m quite nice, thanks, brat. ” a playful glint in his eyes as he steps inside. thankfully, he managed to avoid any recognition on his way over. last thing he wanted was press swarming sik’s place. his place had become a bit of a second haven to tae-luc’s own apartment and he hopes to keep it that way. he’s not sure when it happens, when the place feels comfortable. he doesn’t recall returning to someone’s place so frequently because, that’s right, he doesn’t. the key to one night stands is to keep it to one. but it didn’t end at one with geunsik, it doesn’t even end at two or three. unexpectedly, a friendship forms, finding himself closer and closer. it became a comfortable rhythm and he wonders when his feelings changed or if he’d just been ignoring any signals for a while now.
tae-luc unhooks his face mask and slips it into his pocket. quietly, he exhales a breath. his pulse quickens and he internally curses at himself. there’s nothing to be worried about. fuckin hell there is. there’s a risk to being here today. their friendship could turn awkward with a simple sentence. perhaps that’s why he subconsciously held back. he fears losing this genuine person, someone who he can just be himself around. had he run the worse case scenario in his head before? more times than he likes to admit. his back is to the other, enough to hide his internal debate, for a moment. was it too late to back out? he shakes it off before turning back to sik. “ how’re you? you’re not hungover too, are you? ”
