Yes, the movie.
I'm going to be very honest...
I really loved it. It was such a good movie. I love the themes it discussed. I had the feeling that I was alone and that I was the problem, just like Elio. I could connect to him even if the story lacked more ground, which, yes, it did, and the pacing was horrifying. to fast for my brain to process even. The visuals were Pixar. obvi. I like the character concepts, I just wish there were more. I couldn't get enough of the characters, just by how they looked, I wanted a whole other movie about the aliens
Parent/family Dynamics: Ok, so here I think the cloning clay was supposed to represent cutting off parents. And the showing of Elios' aunt being much better "without" Him was something many people imagined would happen. parents, aunts, grandparents would feel blessed, or even better, we're gone. It struck home cuz I personally have issues at times with my own people. Ha, ha! Even though doing that. a few times.
Friendship dynamic: Glordon and Elio quickly developed friendship, it could've been looked more into, although I can tell they are destined to be best friends. No doubt. And it makes me relate to my own bsf, we bonded due to our struggles. the line
"Young are unique, Elio of Earth. And unique can feel like alone, but you are not alone."
and,
"I may not always understand you, but I still love you" were crucial lines to the story, and of course, the change of movie and stuff. And in my honest opinion. Yeah, it needed more polishing of what the story was abt, but through and through. It taught good parent dynamics, friendship, and even showed u cannot be replaced 8/10 due to fast pacing and some half-polished ideas.
