Hepa-Titus - Gettin’ It On. Amphetamine Reptile records, 2014.
Shit and Shine - Cunts With Roses. Noisestar records, 2007.
A 12” single, recorded live at rehearsals. This is more like it. Repetitive noise and drumming.
Shit and Shine - Some People Really Know How To Live. Editions Mego. 2017.
This is surprisingly chilled for one of their releases!
Gorillaz - S/t. Double album. Parlophone, 2001
Dub Syndicate - Stoned Immaculate. On-U Sound. 1991
Another Hardcore compilation, this time Japanese. I’ve just ripped this to mp3, it sounded very good. I’ve neglected too many of my records!
Various artist hardcore compilation album from the late 80’s. I never got into the music on this record (made me realise I wasn’t a fan of hardcore I suppose, as I didn’t buy much more of it.). Listening to it tonight it doesn’t seem that bad! Has it mellowed over the years, or am I just late to the scene as usual!
I went to watch Aaron Dilloway with my girlfriend in Istanbul. To say he was intense is a severe understatement. My girlfriend thought he was trying to summon the devil 😂
Was a great night, hope I get to see him again soon.
Sula Bassana - Kosmonauts. Double album on Deep Distance Records. 2015
A lovely orange and brown vinyl combination.
German electronica; Berlin School, Ambient. It’s got some lovely rhythms running though it.
A bit of reggae. I heard this on the John Peel show in the mid to late 80’s. I never knew who did it though! I was looking through Dub Vendors website when I came across this. They had a clip of the record on there so I knew it was the right record. It arrived a couple of days later. Very happy.
Tonights vinyl rip will be Status Quo - Live, a double album from ‘77. Recorded over 3 nights at the Apollo theatre in Glasgow.
Just finished ripping this to my computer. It’s mainly spoken word with a little introduction music on some tracks. Very entertaining look at him growing up in Glasgow. John Peel used to play quite a lot of Ivor cutler, and had him in session a few times.
Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan - The Phlorescent Leech & Eddie. Warner Bros, 1972
Just ripping more vinyl to the computer. It’s a good excuse to listen to some neglected records.
About 5 years separating these photos.
Good to see these guys recording and releasing again. I thought they’d called it a day back in the mid 90’s, but we’ve had 3 good releases in the last 6 years. The first 2 pics are cd releases, the third a vinyl release from the end of 2019.
Great to see them back.
Crypt Witch - Bad Trip Exorcism. Deep Distance Records, 2019.
Ltd to 300 on a dark green vinyl. This is number 152/300
Julie’s Haircut - In The Silence Electric.
Rocket Recordings, 2019.
