im moving soon to what should be a much better situation, my cars radiator needs replacing, i need to get back into my storage unit, and i need money for food to eat and gas for the move

Instead of a cutesie reference to film censorship it was an explicit statement of defiance of Maryland's criminalization gay sex, which was not repealed until 2002. This wasn't a guy saying "Oh they can't put what I do in the movies according to a completely voluntary industry code" he was saying "The State of Maryland wants to put me in jail for being gay and having gay sex."

It wasn't a guy being cheeky about sex in an ambiguous, cute way. It was a man stating, in no uncertain terms, that a whole state of the United States considered him a criminal for being homosexual.

i love the word transsexual (not because it "sounds cool radical transgressive" ew i'm not the brand of tboy who fetishizes being oppressed -particularly being transmisogynized. i love it because when trans people transition they change their sexgender not "just their gender" like every liberal self appointed "ally" believes). but then you have to deal with people who think the thing that makes you transsexual is like. a surgery. i'm gonna kms why do trans people feel the need to reinvent transmedicalism every 5 minutes.

#indeed#as an aside my personal reasons for using the term are that#1) transmeds do not consider nonbinary people capable of being transsexual and so I claim it in the same sense that I claim transgender#2) ''transsexualism'' is a diagnosis that follows me everywhere forever now in my medical files#& if formal sexgender enforcement systems use this term for me then I want to use it to draw attention to these literal systems#around cis people who like to pretend the diagnosis doesn't exist anymore. it does.

thank you this puts it into precise words. one of my first interactions with the legal system after coming out was having to sign a paper where i sort of "swore" i "had transsexualism" [sic] (where i live this was required as a first step to change your name in some legal documents). of course this impacts my life! (and, to the point, this was before any hormones or surgery!)
