here, have some old sketches of aardvarks
hello i've come to spread ersatz propaganda
please go watch it: "ERSATZ | PILOT" by @clownsaint
hello, does anyone have Winsweep's Bucket List VODs? I only have the first 30 minutes from Day 1 and then whole VODs of Growth and Brother saved, but I'm missing VODs of Days 2 to 7.
I'd be forever thankful for a kind soul sharing those <3
hi. can we talk about Bucket List -2: Brother for a second?
i experienced so many whiplashes (in a good way), back to back, too many times just watching this stream unfurl
from a standpoint of someone who had a DSMP (to QSMP) to CSMP arc, i cannot even begin to describe the lore intricacies involved with seeing Fundy on the CSMP, especially if we consider his character stayed consistent all throughout, meaning i went through a rollercoaster of emotions hearing him (in order):
"have past trauma ("an event in the past has really torn me apart, it really broke me for a long period of my life")" = literally whole L'manburg ordeal + his father's suicide + Butcher Army + Las Nevadas ig? + his father's resurrection + hallucinations + having to deal with his father as a whole + suicide
"have a younger sister" = Tallulah???? is this multifandom lore??
"have no other relatives" = yeah he didn't really think of Phil as his grandfather, checks out
only to hear (expect basic takes):
"lux is his sibling" = how did he survive the genocide? the thronebreakers? maybe he hid really well...? what about the species thing?
"was it him — who took her away, who burned it down; the man" = though right after Fundy mutters "the doctor", so i feel like he's implying he's talking about RAT?, but let me have this: i think im dying. the mason
"appears in shadows, all dark... she listened to him?!" = implied to be RAT, though i like to think Fundy is talking about Mouthpiece here :P (though usually they/them pronouns are used for them)
and also the bit where Fundy talks about how he rised from the ashes of his village....
anyways. i think Fundy is... not real, at the moment (if he interacts with anyone else, then sure). the whole journey he takes over the course of this stream serves quite neatly as a metaphor in Winsweep's favour :) his affirmations of Winsweep, want of vengeance, remorse over Lux's death and other little attributes make me believe Winsweep's mind would be capable of fabricating him with all his little quirks (for which could Winsweep's mind easily repurpose already available knowledge (like Fundy being Lux's sibling..... please put Nox on the line, thank you)) just for the sake of his own coping
bonus point: it would be extra tragic if Winsweep's mind hallucinated Fundy's whole existence just so Winsweep could relive the beginnings of his lost 'friendship' with Nox because the Fundy—Nox paralels are simply undeniable. anyways ive just decided to write a fic about it
also. not Folly watching Winsweep devolve into madness (as she often does)
sidenote — Lux's newest video is so fun! i love the retrospective storytelling, arghhhh its so good (and now we finally know why Diansu called Eight a treacherous scholar! yipee)
I hope u dont mind me giving my two cents i hope it doesnt come across as me going "erm actually 🤓" at you but this stream was really interesting to me and i am excited to see someone else talking abt it
anyway i wanted to say i did not consider the possibility of fundy being basically a hallucination thats a really interesting theory and would honestly make a lot of sense for winsweep at this point hes kinda going thru it. but fundy was also mentioning some stuff relating to his past that winsweep wouldnt be aware of so idk if it makes total sense that he wouldve created that in his mind, yknow? thats getting a little meta tho maybe.
my interpretation of fundys lines of "was it him — who took her away, who burned it down; the man" and "appears in shadows, all dark… she listened to him?!" are that winsweeps descriptions of RAT reminded fundy of the mason and what happened to lux, and that whole conversation was basically them misunderstanding who the other was talking about, but i cant find the timestamp in the vod to go back and rewatch it rn.... i know thats how it seemed to me while watching tho. also i SWEAR fundy and/or winsweep also said something abt a white mask which does apply to RAT (who winsweep was talking about), but it can also describe how the mason looked right before he did the face stabbing thing and turned into goop and shit, so that would make sense that fundy might mix up the mason with winsweeps description of RAT.
bc from fundys pov, assuming he wasnt present to actually see most or any of luxs kidnapping, the mason did just kinda come in and burn their village to the ground and then steal lux, but he also possibly left a bunch of black ink everywhere from the yknow.... face stabbing he did, and fundy did make an offhanded comment about the ink all over winsweep and lux's bases that implied it was a familiar sight for him.
mouthpiece specifically didnt really Exist until the masons death in bonesburrow, tho maybe some sort of similar entity was around back then, mouthpiece was basically brought into existence somehow via the masons death.
i dont know the exact timeline of luxs kidnapping to current day on csmp, but fundy very well couldve been traveling to find her ever since their home was destroyed and she went missing, because as far as i know there was no explicit mention of the mason using any walkways to go to different universes/worlds/whatever in the time after kidnapping lux.
tbh im kinda obsessed with the idea of fundy being a figment of winsweeps imagination but im also obsessed with the crumbs of lux and mason lore we get just from fundy existing in the first place so honestly im ecstatic either way
i don't mind at all! i love hearing all the theories out there :D
i like to imagine Nox opened up to Winsweep about their past upon his nagging; i find their relationship to be exceptional in a way, especially from Nox's point of view, since they deeply despise Blake on a moral basis while also finding a connection — i feel like Nox doesn't bear their mask of "liking Winsweep" all the time and is actually even content (sometimes) with their friendship, even only for just a little bit — and although Nox would be very reluctant to talk about their past, I think Winsweep might've caught a bit or two
also i didn't notice the face stabbing so yippee! more lore :) then the mask mention would make sense, yeah, same about the ink (which i didnt even notice), so that's really interesting in its own right
it is true Fundy wouldn't know about Mouthpiece (i kinda forgot he wasn't enlightened in Charter's matters) (also your thought about a similar entity as Mouthpiece is really interesting) but if he was Winsweep's hallucination, then it would make sense for Winsweep to conjure up that Fundy was talking about Mouthpiece
i thought it was 15 years from Lux's kindapping (she was 9-ish) to the first-ish mention of them being on the CSMP (Zero [tbh i dunno why i thought Zero and A Star of Dawn happened in the same timeframe??] to Five thousand, four hundred and thirty-three) but now i realized we literally have no idea so ggs — and YES! The Mason went through the Walkway once right after he kidnapped her, but that is all we know :D good catch!
so yeah, this stream and its lore consequences are quite remarkable and it's just really fun to think about :DD
Yeah!!! The face stabbing thing was in Gift of Oblivion, Zero "Screaming, they stabbed their sword into their head, black liquid flowing out and enveloping their body." But the image I'm basing the Masons appearance before he does that is from A Star of Dawn.
The reason I mentioned the possibility of a Mouthpiece-like entity existing in the past is because of this passage from A Star of Dawn:
'Idiots' the Wheel-Bearer muttered, as a shadowy figure silently ran down the corridor behind them. 'One and all dancing on thin air.'
Turning back to see the one approaching, their voice slit through the air; 'Is the apparatus destroyed? The physickers dead?'
'Aye, sir.' The hands and knives of the Thronebreaker Shadow were painted with blood as they reached into one of their myriad pockets, and extended a blade-like sliver of crystal, tied down intricately with rope. 'The fruits of their labour, in all their glory.'
Also yeah that's a good point that Winsweep would be able to have Fundy know about Mouthpiece even if he wouldn't actually since that's really all Winsweep knows. Much to think about.....
I believe the child mentioned in A Star of Dawn is actually Astron based on the context of the timeskips and such in that story, so the mentions of Lux's past we have are from Gift of Oblivion which unfortunately does not mention age beyond calling Lux a child.... But yeah I assume A Star of Dawn happened some time before Gift of Oblivion, and judging by the timeskips in it I'd say it's safe to assume it was roughly 10 years or so, but realistically we have no idea exactly how long Astron was with the Mason, or if their time with him overlapped with Lux's at all. However, I do think you're right about it being around 15 years from Lux's kidnapping to their arrival on Content SMP, assuming those numbers in the section titles of Gift of Oblivion are days.
Also, going through the Walkway was mentioned after the Mason took the child assumed to be Astron, but nothing like that was mentioned in his kidnapping of Lux. I did have to go back and re-read both of those stories to double check tho 😭
Man I should really make a visual timeline for this shit that might be helpful. I honestly don't keep track of the entirety of CSMP lore that well, but goddamn do I have every single offhanded comment and snippet of lore mentioning the Mason saved, organized, and annotated. (I'm not exaggerating I really do..... I have a problem)
one existencial crisis aside, i dont know how i've managed to misinterpret A Star of Dawn this badly..... the child being Astron makes so much sense.... so thank you for this enlightenment of mine <3 time to reevaluate everything ig
then yeah! i can totally see what you've laid out and it does suit the narrative :D
also a visual timeline would be sickkk
Idk what you mean bro I’m clearly very normal about them (this is just pt.1)
hello arathain.... may we have a Fun Bug Fact about The Augur? your choice if its lore relevant or not, just a little crumb. .
They're a very, very kind individual; full of adoration and admiration towards the world as a whole. They embrace everything the world has to offer with open arms and a cold, yet burning heart - there is nothing more terrifying than such an "abomination". On another note, they are bound to the same rules of Charter as anyone else - only difference being that their value is limitless :>
Six thousand, three hundred, and thirty-three
‘Well,’ The Augur remarked, cleanly filling the darkness between the reservoir’s rough-hewn walls, ‘I believe there is work to do.’
‘That’s right.’
Metal screeched in contact with stone. Its crude din swelled past Augur’s helm and had their lips minutely curled with distaste as first steps audibly parted the water’s surface. They turned to the entrant with the least concern. Radiantly, a pair of pale eyes believed to stare them down, even whilst the arrival’s form, in comparison to theirs, would be, in just a moment, utterly shrouded in their shadow. Almost intrinsically, the being brought defiance with him; it hung in the air, potent. As he foolishly crept closer, char splintered the knuckles of his clenched fists. ‘There is work to do, exactly,’ he spat out, ‘you’ve got to die.’
Something about the approaching figure infused The Augur’s still lingering delight with unravelling bliss — his permeation with leaking hurt, misery and pain beautifully lapped at their tongue, causing rise to an indulgent grin. They had never seen such a loathsome display, not even in Mouthpiece; they had never seen a self-smothered Phoenix so ferociously claw at and blindly beat its stumps of ripped-out wings against its own cage. ‘Oh, why would that be?’ Ink still ghostly dripped down Augur’s talons. ‘What is it I have done that you have taken to reviling so quickly?’ Why, the self-absorbed shadow could not certainly have piqued this creature’s interest.
‘You bastard… you— you helped kill her, didn’t you. You killed her. You killed Lux!’ The figure repulsively reeled forward. ‘You killed her!’ Oh, the imploded radiance. Truly ravished. Its light had irrefutably blazed the brightest yet, chains buckling as they had struggled to constrict such seething brilliance — whoever they had been, their true purposing would undeniably yield The Wheel.
A colossal blade pummelled through the floor, shattering its tiles beyond recognition. Arching, straining, the foolish entrant’s own weapon powerfully crashed into the blade’s brandished mould of the Great Charter and, in no time, bursted. Its whetted splinters sprayed across Augur’s armour. As the adversary stared at the stumped hilt bearing the name Iram Noctis in his gold-oozing hands, their slitted eyes locked on a certain crystal glinting from the figure’s nape. A forked tongue escaped ahead pointed teeth. ‘Oh, I see.’ The Augur lifted the great blade through rock’s rupture. Yes, the Second would be pleased. ‘I see your purpose.’

And to always care is a mistake. And to always promise is a mistake. And to always choose wrong is a mistake.
And Sillvia always makes mistakes.
And so, when a raven soars aloft Bon’s and Moriya’s heads, when it perches with an audible ‘clack’ atop her shoulder-piece as its claws slide on it, when it folds its wings and playfully pecks her cheek, she knows — she is about to make a mistake. Like times and times again, for whatever reason, for whatever twisted, fucked-up reason, she, against her incorrigible state of mind, follows through. It should be obvious by now. It never is. The choice — if she ever has one — is so incomprehensibly fuzzy, yet clear-cut, simple; the choice should be right, sometimes. Even one time, she should choose right. She doesn’t. Even if it is something as stupid as reaching for the note on the raven’s feet and untying it and unravelling it and reading it. Is it her fault? Is she just not getting something? Is she overlooking some crucial, basic knowledge that everyone seems to know, except her, that just… keeps them from fucking hurting the ones they love over and over again?
Her fingers crumple the paper.
It is a simple ‘Hey’, scribbled with jagged, messy, uneven lines. She reads it again. And again. And again. Her right eye is straining, sight blurry, yet she reads it again, that one word, that one sick, god-awful word that, as uneasy and violated she then feels over its hold of her, makes the world around her falter. Falters the conversation into static — it locks her into place. She feels foul. She feels weak. She feels like she could tear that man apart. She will tear that man apart. She feels fear. She feels guilty. She feels regret. She feels rage. She feels rage. She feels rage. She feels tired. She feels she needs to do something, anything. She has to do something. (Does she ever? A mistake.)
Unable to tear her eyes off that damn note, Sillvia reads further, slipping over the lines, ground unstable, tidal wave upon a tidal wave as she abruptly feels his stare bore through her nape, blood freezing when her sight half-heartedly seizes the single-word, an otherwise empty line, ‘Alone.’ She should come alone. A threat. Alone. To spawn. Alone. The handwriting blurs, text a tangled mess she skims over… the sentences do not make sense. She cannot concentrate — she has just read the same thing for the fifth time and does not know what it said, she has to concentrate, Sillvia, goddammit, concentrate — it says something, there is something on there, ink on paper, just. She has to go. The two are not safe, not here, not with her, he knows—
Sillvia is going to kill Winsweep.
The realisation slams into her. She blinks at the words — the words promising death, should anyone come with her, blink back. Sillvia is going to kill Winsweep. The paper crumples harder. Sillvia is going to kill Winsweep. She’d fulfill her promise, she’d finally fight back, she’d be there and she’d make a change. Even if it’s late, so undoubtedly, unforgivingly late, she would choose right, for once. She hates him, no— this is more than hate, this is more than she has ever felt towards RAT or… anyone. She truly, absolutely and irrevocably hates him, that mask, that shit-eating grin, all he has ever stood for and all he will ever stand for. She hates. With every fibre of her being, with every inch and with every cell. She is burning with it. This raw hate, unadulterated and smouldered, has flared and kindled and ignited so hungrily she has become a flame, a fire, a blaze. Her form lacks meaning, her flesh a tool and a tool only — she crazes, seething and crackling and devouring and razing all that bears any resemblance to him, and with it, his soul, choking it dead with frenetic chains of pulsing, living hate. She is hate. She hates and hates and hates and hates and hates, hates him. And the world burns, and she is the world, and she is the fire, and she stares him dead in the eyes to see the reflection of the last thing he has ever loved be leveled by her.
The paper rips through.
Sillvia briskly turns on her heel, voice rattling like rugged metal, “I-I-I— I gotta go.”
“...oh.” Others are talking to her. “You good?”
It leaves her mouth with a snap, a whip sent behind her back, “I gotta go.” Urging forward, her steps ring resolute. Yes, she is going to kill Winsweep. Permanently. Fists ball up; she speeds up. “Sillvia!” Dead, dead, dead, he will be dead. Whoever’s yell it was, it only fueled that ire, that burbling, crackling thing, that energy, those exploding insides, so much for her to sharply slit her arm through the air, winging back with a bark, “don’t follow—”
The world falters.
'𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠?'
An empty face watches her. It stands between Moriya and Bon, unmoving, as they are shuffling back and forth. Bright, tangerine skin, smooth where her eyes should have been, vividly violet locks, which never paled, goggles that have never been forsaken. All three of them are staring at her. The empty face stares the most. She blinks — the two of them have made it to her. They are speaking. The empty face is still there. Bon takes her hands — Sillvia looks at them — Sillvia looks back at the face. There is no face. She blinks.
She understands what it meant.
And Sillvia always makes mistakes.
…right.
i finally saw r4t's newest video. i cried
