Ju’dha’pyode are loosely based off of this cool exhibit I saw in an aquarium the other day
(Supposed to be a bayou but I’m still working it it)
Ju'dha'pyode are a clan that lives in a bayous, they live almost their entire lives in or on the water, only leaving the safety of the water to attend the monthly gatherings. They are slow moving, but they are not lazy, despite the stereotypes of being lazy they actually need to be slow as they stand motionless in the neck deep water, they stand with their knees bent and arms at their sides- their mandibles spread open in waiting to snare unsuspecting prey. They are almost always a shade of green, brown, or the very rare inky-black skinned, they ALWAYS have a medium sized to large dot of any vibrant color on the middle of their foreheads to mimic lily pads. Their dreads are the longest out of the clans due to them mimicking Lilypad roots, often reddish brown, any shade of green or brown, and sometimes even transparent (both parents must possesses the gene for it to pass down). Their dreads are often bent in many places due to them getting tangled with other clan members. There’s an ancient saying that if the water tangles your dreads to another, it is true love- though this is often debunked since thr Ju’dha’pyode don’t like to socialize, much like the Dte’emok, they are antisocial and want to be left alone, they focus in expanding their Lilypad farms in peace- but often get into turf wars with the N’ritja’e’tizu over who’s Lilypad are who’s and where the fish swam to. They are bitter rivals.
If a clan member of the Ju'dha'pyode has offspring with a clan member of the N'ritja‘e’tizu (a clan that lives in the more shallow stagnant areas of the lower marshland) their offspring can inherit iridescent skin spots, similar to earth’s betta fish.
Females prefer males with larger spots on their forehead, it signals he is in bloom, much like a lily pad’s flower. Females and males have no sexual dimorphism except for females tower over males. Some Ju’dha’pyode have multiple spots on their head, this is an indicator of a half clan parents or illness, hence why half clan Ju’dha’pyode’s are often deemed lesser than the full blooded.
They do not wear clothing in the water because it makes them feel encumbered. They will sometimes wear loincloths during gathering though their main articles of clothing are chest, abdomen, and groin armor, woven from moss and roots from their beloved lily pads.
Kujj’ou is a lean inky black stripped Yautja male Ju’dha’pyode hunter, he’s never in one place and he rolls from clan to clan. But he doesn’t hunt for trophies, he hunts for cultural anthology, he’s attempting to mend relationships between the yautja species and the many alien species that despise the Yautja.
Another clan for the clan hoard of mine.
hopefully going to do the Dte’emok next.
